Psalms 132

1 A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:

Lembra-te, Senhor, de David, e de todas as suas afflicções.

2 How he swore to the LORD, and vowed to the mighty God of Jacob;

Como jurou ao Senhor, e fez votos ao poderoso de Jacob, dizendo:

3 Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

Certamente que não entrarei na tenda de minha casa, nem subirei ao leito da minha cama.

4 I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids,

Não darei somno aos meus olhos, nem adormecimento ás minhas pestanas,

5 Until I find a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

Emquanto não achar logar para o Senhor, uma morada para o Poderoso de Jacob.

6 Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

Eis que ouvimos fallar d'ella em Ephrata, e a achámos no campo do bosque.

7 We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

Entraremos nos seus tabernaculos: prostrar-nos-hemos ante o escabello de seus pés.

8 Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

Levanta-te, Senhor, no teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua força.

9 Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça, e alegrem-se os teus sanctos.

10 For thy servant David’s sake turn not away the face of thy anointed.

Por amor de David, teu servo, não faças virar o rosto do teu ungido.

11 The LORD hath sworn in truth to David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

O Senhor jurou na verdade a David: não se apartará d'ella: Do fructo do teu ventre porei sobre o teu throno.

12 If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children also shall sit upon thy throne for evermore.

Se os teus filhos guardarem o meu concerto, e os meus testemunhos, que eu lhes hei de ensinar, tambem os seus filhos se assentarão perpetuamente no teu throno.

13 For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

Porque o Senhor elegeu a Sião; desejou-a para a sua habitação, dizendo:

14 This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

Este é o meu repouso para sempre: aqui habitarei, pois o desejei.

15 I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

Abençoarei abundantemente o seu mantimento; fartarei de pão os seus necessitados.

16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

Vestirei os seus sacerdotes de salvação, e os seus sanctos saltarão de prazer.

17 There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

Ali farei brotar a força de David: preparei uma lampada para o meu ungido.

18 His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Vestirei os seus inimigos de confusão; mas sobre elle florescerá a sua corôa.
