< Psalms 13 >

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. How long wilt thou forget me, O LORD? for ever? how long wilt thou hide thy face from me?
In finem. Psalmus David. [Usquequo, Domine, oblivisceris me in finem? usquequo avertis faciem tuam a me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
quamdiu ponam consilia in anima mea; dolorem in corde meo per diem?
3 Consider and hear me, O LORD my God: enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
usquequo exaltabitur inimicus meus super me?
4 Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those that trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
Respice, et exaudi me, Domine Deus meus. Illumina oculos meos, ne umquam obdormiam in morte;
5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
nequando dicat inimicus meus: Prævalui adversus eum. Qui tribulant me exsultabunt si motus fuero;
6 I will sing to the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
ego autem in misericordia tua speravi. Exsultabit cor meum in salutari tuo. Cantabo Domino qui bona tribuit mihi; et psallam nomini Domini altissimi.]
