Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend to my wisdom, and bow thy ear to my understanding:
१हे मेरे पुत्र, मेरी बुद्धि की बातों पर ध्यान दे, मेरी समझ की ओर कान लगा;
2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
२जिससे तेरा विवेक सुरक्षित बना रहे, और तू ज्ञान की रक्षा करे।
3 For the lips of an adulteress drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
३क्योंकि पराई स्त्री के होठों से मधु टपकता है, और उसकी बातें तेल से भी अधिक चिकनी होती हैं;
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
४परन्तु इसका परिणाम नागदौना के समान कड़वा और दोधारी तलवार के समान पैना होता है।
५उसके पाँव मृत्यु की ओर बढ़ते हैं; और उसके पग अधोलोक तक पहुँचते हैं। (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are unstable, that thou canst not know them.
६वह जीवन के मार्ग के विषय विचार नहीं करती; उसके चाल चलन में चंचलता है, परन्तु उसे वह स्वयं नहीं जानती।
7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
७इसलिए अब हे मेरे पुत्रों, मेरी सुनो, और मेरी बातों से मुँह न मोड़ो।
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not near the door of her house:
८ऐसी स्त्री से दूर ही रह, और उसकी डेवढ़ी के पास भी न जाना;
9 Lest thou give thy honour to others, and thy years to the cruel:
९कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तू अपना यश औरों के हाथ, और अपना जीवन क्रूर जन के वश में कर दे;
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
१०या पराए तेरी कमाई से अपना पेट भरें, और परदेशी मनुष्य तेरे परिश्रम का फल अपने घर में रखें;
11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
११और तू अपने अन्तिम समय में जब तेरे शरीर का बल खत्म हो जाए तब कराह कर,
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
१२तू यह कहेगा “मैंने शिक्षा से कैसा बैर किया, और डाँटनेवाले का कैसा तिरस्कार किया!
13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!
१३मैंने अपने गुरुओं की बातें न मानीं और अपने सिखानेवालों की ओर ध्यान न लगाया।
14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
१४मैं सभा और मण्डली के बीच में पूर्णतः विनाश की कगार पर जा पड़ा।”
15 Drink waters out of thy own cistern, and running waters out of thy own well.
१५तू अपने ही कुण्ड से पानी, और अपने ही कुएँ के सोते का जल पिया करना।
16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
१६क्या तेरे सोतों का पानी सड़क में, और तेरे जल की धारा चौकों में बह जाने पाए?
17 Let them be only thy own, and not for strangers with thee.
१७यह केवल तेरे ही लिये रहे, और तेरे संग अनजानों के लिये न हो।
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
१८तेरा सोता धन्य रहे; और अपनी जवानी की पत्नी के साथ आनन्दित रह,
19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
१९वह तेरे लिए प्रिय हिरनी या सुन्दर सांभरनी के समान हो, उसके स्तन सर्वदा तुझे सन्तुष्ट रखें, और उसी का प्रेम नित्य तुझे मोहित करता रहे।
20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
२०हे मेरे पुत्र, तू व्यभिचारिणी पर क्यों मोहित हो, और पराई स्त्री को क्यों छाती से लगाए?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
२१क्योंकि मनुष्य के मार्ग यहोवा की दृष्टि से छिपे नहीं हैं, और वह उसके सब मार्गों पर ध्यान करता है।
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
२२दुष्ट अपने ही अधर्म के कर्मों से फँसेगा, और अपने ही पाप के बन्धनों में बन्धा रहेगा।
23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
२३वह अनुशासन का पालन न करने के कारण मर जाएगा, और अपनी ही मूर्खता के कारण भटकता रहेगा।
