Proverbs 5
1 My son, attend to my wisdom, and bow thy ear to my understanding:
Mein Sohn, merke auf meine Weisheit, neige meiner Einsicht dein Ohr,
2 That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.
daß du Überlegung bewahrst, und deine Lippen Erkenntnis behalten.
3 For the lips of an adulteress drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:
Denn von Honigseim triefen die Lippen der Fremden, und glätter als Öl ist ihr Gaumen.
4 But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a twoedged sword.
Aber zuletzt ist sie bitter wie Wermut, scharf wie ein zweischneidiges Schwert.
Ihre Füße gehen zum Tode hinab, zur Unterwelt streben ihre Schritte hin. (Sheol h7585)
6 Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are unstable, that thou canst not know them.
Daß sie ja den Pfad des Lebens verfehle, schweifen ihre Geleise, sie weiß nicht wohin.
7 Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.
Nun denn, ihr Söhne, gehorcht mir und weicht nicht ab von den Reden meines Mundes.
8 Remove thy way far from her, and come not near the door of her house:
Laß deinen Weg fern von ihr sein und nahe dich nicht der Thür ihres Hauses,
9 Lest thou give thy honour to others, and thy years to the cruel:
daß du nicht anderen deine Jugendblüte preisgebest und deine Jahre einem Grausamen,
10 Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger;
daß sich nicht Fremde von deinem Vermögen sättigen, und der Ertrag deiner Mühen nicht in das Haus eines Auswärtigen komme,
11 And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed,
und du zuletzt stöhnen müssest, wenn dir Leib und Fleisch hinschwinden,
12 And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;
und sprechen müssest: Ach! daß ich Zucht gehaßt habe, und mein Herz die Rüge verschmäht hat!
13 And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined my ear to them that instructed me!
daß ich nicht der Stimme meiner Lehrer gehorcht und denen, die mich unterwiesen, mein Ohr nicht geneigt habe!
14 I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.
Fast wäre ich völlig ins Unglück geraten inmitten der Versammlung und der Gemeinde.
15 Drink waters out of thy own cistern, and running waters out of thy own well.
Trinke Wasser aus deiner Zisterne und was aus deinem Brunnen hervorquillt.
16 Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.
Sollen deine Quellen nach außen überfließen, deine Wasserbäche auf die freien Plätze?
17 Let them be only thy own, and not for strangers with thee.
Dir allein müssen sie gehören und nicht Fremden neben dir.
18 Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.
Dein Born sei gesegnet, daß du Freude habest vom Weibe deiner Jugend.
19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.
Die liebliche Hinde und anmutige Gazelle ihre Brüste mögen dich allezeit berauschen; durch ihre Liebe mögest du immerdar in Taumel geraten.
20 And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with an adulteress, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?
Warum aber, mein Sohn, wolltest du durch eine Fremde in Taumel geraten und den Busen einer Auswärtigen umarmen?
21 For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.
Denn eines jeden Wege liegen klar vor den Augen Jahwes, und alle ihre Geleise bahnet er.
22 His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.
Die eignen Verschuldungen fangen ihn, den Gottlosen, und durch die Stricke seiner Sünde wird er festgehalten.
23 He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.
Sterben wird er aus Mangel an Zucht und ob seiner großen Narrheit wird er hintaumeln.
