< Proverbs 28 >

1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Omumɔyɛfo guan bere a obiara ntaa no, nanso atreneefo koko yɛ duru sɛ gyata.
2 For the transgression of a land many are its princes: but by a man of understanding and knowledge its state shall be prolonged.
Atuatewman nya sodifo pii, nanso onipa a ɔwɔ nhumu ne nimdeɛ ma mmara yɛ adwuma.
3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
Sodifo a ɔhyɛ ahiafo so no te sɛ osu mu ahum a ennyaw nnɔbae bi wɔ akyi.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
Wɔn a wɔpo mmara no kamfo amumɔyɛfo, na wɔn a wodi mmara so no siw wɔn kwan.
5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.
Abɔnefo nte atɛntrenee ase, nanso wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ Awurade no, te ase yiye.
6 Better is the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he is rich.
Ohiani a ne nantew ho nni asɛm ye sen ɔdefo a nʼakwan yɛ kɔntɔnkye.
7 He who keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of gluttonous men shameth his father.
Nea odi mmara so yɛ ɔba a ɔwɔ nhumu, nanso nea ɔne adidibradafo bɔ no gu nʼagya anim ase.
8 He that by interest and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
Nea ogye mfɛntom mmoroso de nya ne ho no, ɔboaboa ano ma nea ɔbɛyɛ ahiafo adɔe.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.
Sɛ obi nni mmara so a, ne mpaebɔ mpo yɛ akyiwade.
10 Whoever causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.
Nea odi atreneefo anim de wɔn fa ɔkwan bɔne so no bɛhwe ɔno ankasa afiri mu, nanso wɔn a wɔn ho nni asɛm no benya agyapade a eye.
11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
Ɔdefo tumi yɛ onyansafo wɔ nʼankasa ani so, nanso ohiani a ɔwɔ nhumu no hu sɛnea ɔte.
12 When righteous men rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
Sɛ atreneefo di nkonim a, nnipa di ahurusi pii; nanso sɛ amumɔyɛfo nya tumi a nnipa kohintaw.
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but he who confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
Onipa a ɔkata ne bɔne so no nnya nkɔso, na nea ɔka ne bɔne na ogyae yɛ no nya ahummɔbɔ.
14 Happy is the man that feareth always: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Nhyira nka nea osuro Awurade bere nyinaa, nanso nea opirim ne koma no tɔ amane mu.
15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.
Omumɔyɛfo a odi nnipa a wonni mmoa so no te sɛ gyata a ɔbobɔ mu anaa sisi a nʼani abere.
16 The prince that lacketh understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.
Ɔsodifo tirimɔdenfo nni adwene, na nea okyi mfaso a wɔnam ɔkwan bɔne so nya no benya nkwa tenten.
17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man sustain him.
Nea awudi ma ne tiboa bu no fɔ no bɛyɛ ɔkobɔfo akosi ne wu da; wɔmma obiara nsiw no kwan.
18 He who walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.
Nea ne nantew ho nni asɛm no, wogye no fi ɔhaw mu, nanso nea nʼakwan yɛ kɔntɔnkye no bɛhwe ase mpofirim.
19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.
Nea ɔyɛ nʼasase so adwuma no benya aduan pii, nanso wɔn a wodi nnaadaasɛm akyi no benya wɔn so ne wɔn hia.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Wobehyira onipa nokwafo pii, na nea ɔpere pɛ ahonyade no remfa ne ho nni.
21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.
Nhwɛanim nye, nanso aduan kakraa bi nti nnipa bɛyɛ bɔne.
22 He that hasteneth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
Nea ɔyɛ pɛpɛe pere sɛ ɔbɛyɛ ɔdefo na onnim sɛ ohia retwɛn no.
23 He that rebuketh a man afterward shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
Nea ɔka obi anim no bɛsɔ nnipa ani akyiri no asen nea ɔwɔ tɛkrɛmadɛ.
24 He that robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.
Nea ɔbɔ nʼagya anaa ne na korɔn na ɔka se, “Ɛnyɛ bɔne no,” ɔne ɔsɛefo na ɛbɔ.
25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
Odifudepɛfo de mpaapaemu ba na nea ɔde ne ho to Awurade so no benya nkɔso.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoever walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
Nea ogye ne ho di no yɛ ɔkwasea, na nea ɔnantew nyansa mu no wobegye no.
27 He that giveth to the poor shall not want: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
Nea ɔma ahiafo no, hwee renhia no, nanso nea obu nʼani gu wɔn so no nya nnome pii.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
Sɛ amumɔyɛfo nya tumi a, nnipa kohintaw; na sɛ amumɔyɛfo ase tɔre a, atreneefo ase dɔ.
