Proverbs 21
1 The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turneth it wherever he will.
| دل پادشاه مثل نهرهای آب در دست خداوند است، آن را به هر سو که بخواهد برمی گرداند. | ۱ |
2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD weigheth the hearts.
| هر راه انسان در نظر خودش راست است، اماخداوند دلها را می‌آزماید. | ۲ |
3 To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.
| عدالت و انصاف را بجا آوردن، نزد خداونداز قربانی‌ها پسندیده تر است. | ۳ |
4 An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.
| چشمان بلند و دل متکبر و چراغ شریران، گناه است. | ۴ |
5 The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want.
| فکرهای مرد زرنگ تمام به فراخی می‌انجامد، اما هر‌که عجول باشد برای احتیاج تعجیل می‌کند. | ۵ |
6 The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed to and fro by them that seek death.
| تحصیل گنجها به زبان دروغگو، بخاری است بر هوا شده برای جویندگان موت. | ۶ |
7 The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.
| ظلم شریران ایشان را به هلاکت می‌اندازد، زیرا که از بجا آوردن انصاف ابا می‌نمایند. | ۷ |
8 The way of man is perverse and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.
| طریق مردی که زیر بار (گناه ) باشد بسیار کج است، اما اعمال مرد طاهر، مستقیم است. | ۸ |
9 It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.
| در زاویه پشت بام ساکن شدن بهتر است، ازساکن بودن با زن ستیزه گر در خانه مشترک. | ۹ |
10 The soul of the wicked desireth evil: his neighbour findeth no favour in his eyes.
| جان شریر مشتاق شرارت است، و برهمسایه خود ترحم نمی کند. | ۱۰ |
11 When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
| چون استهزاکننده سیاست یابد جاهلان حکمت می‌آموزند، و چون مرد حکیم تربیت یابد معرفت را تحصیل می‌نماید. | ۱۱ |
12 The righteous man wisely considereth the house of the wicked: but God overthroweth the wicked for their wickedness.
| مرد عادل در خانه شریر تامل می‌کند که چگونه اشرار به تباهی واژگون می‌شوند. | ۱۲ |
13 Whoever stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.
| هر‌که گوش خود را از فریاد فقیر می‌بندد، او نیز فریاد خواهد کرد و مستجاب نخواهد شد. | ۱۳ |
14 A gift in secret pacifieth anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.
| هدیه‌ای در خفا خشم را فرو می‌نشاند، ورشوه‌ای در بغل، غضب سخت را. | ۱۴ |
15 It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
| انصاف کردن خرمی عادلان است، اما باعث پریشانی بدکاران می‌باشد. | ۱۵ |
16 The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.
| هر‌که از طریق تعقل گمراه شود، درجماعت مردگان ساکن خواهد گشت. | ۱۶ |
17 He that loveth pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loveth wine and oil shall not be rich.
| هر‌که عیش را دوست دارد محتاج خواهدشد، و هر‌که شراب و روغن را دوست دارددولتمند نخواهد گردید. | ۱۷ |
18 The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.
| شریران فدیه عادلان می‌شوند وخیانتکاران به عوض راستان. | ۱۸ |
19 It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
| در زمین بایر ساکن بودن بهتر است از بودن با زن ستیزه گر و جنگجوی. | ۱۹ |
20 There is a treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up.
| در منزل حکیمان خزانه مرغوب و روغن است، اما مرد احمق آنها را تلف می‌کند. | ۲۰ |
21 He that followeth after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness, and honour.
| هر‌که عدالت و رحمت را متابعت کند، حیات و عدالت و جلال خواهد یافت. | ۲۱ |
22 A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of its confidence.
| مرد حکیم به شهر جباران برخواهد آمد، وقلعه اعتماد ایشان را به زیر می‌اندازد. | ۲۲ |
23 Whoever keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
| هر‌که دهان و زبان خویش را نگاه دارد، جان خود را از تنگیها محافظت می‌نماید. | ۲۳ |
24 Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who dealeth in proud wrath.
| مرد متکبر و مغرور مسمی به استهزاکننده می‌شود، و به افزونی تکبر عمل می‌کند. | ۲۴ |
25 The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour.
| شهوت مرد کاهل او را می‌کشد، زیرا که دستهایش از کار کردن ابا می‌نماید. | ۲۵ |
26 He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
| هستند که همه اوقات به شدت حریص می‌باشند، اما مرد عادل بذل می‌کند و امساک نمی نماید. | ۲۶ |
27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
| قربانی های شریران مکروه است، پس چندمرتبه زیاده هنگامی که به عوض بدی آنها رامی گذرانند. | ۲۷ |
28 A false witness shall perish: but the man that heareth speaketh constantly.
| شاهد دروغگو هلاک می‌شود، اما کسی‌که استماع نماید به راستی تکلم خواهد کرد. | ۲۸ |
29 A wicked man hardeneth his face: but as for the upright, he directeth his way.
| مرد شریر روی خود را بی‌حیا می‌سازد، ومرد راست، طریق خویش را مستحکم می‌کند. | ۲۹ |
30 There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.
| حکمتی نیست و نه فطانتی و نه مشورتی که به ضد خداوند به‌کار آید. | ۳۰ |
31 The horse is prepared for the day of battle: but safety is from the LORD.
| اسب برای روز جنگ مهیا است، اما نصرت از جانب خداوند است. | ۳۱ |
