Luke 15
1 Then drew near to him all the tax collectors and sinners to hear him.
১আর কর আদায়কারী ও পাপী লোকেরা সবাই যীশুর কথা শোনার জন্য তাঁর কাছে আসছিল।
2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
২তাতে ফরীশী ও ধর্মশিক্ষকেরা অভিযোগ করে বলতে লাগল, “এ ব্যক্তি পাপীদের গ্রহণ করে, ও তাদের সাথে খাওয়া দাওয়া ও মেলামেশা করে।”
3 And he spoke this parable to them, saying,
৩তখন তিনি তাদের এই উপমা বললেন।
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he loseth one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he findeth it?
৪“তোমাদের মধ্যে কোনো এক ব্যক্তি যার একশো মেষ আছে, ও তার মধ্যে থেকে একটি হারিয়ে যায়, তবে সে কি অন্য নিরানব্বইটাকে ছেড়ে দিয়ে সেই একটাকে খুঁজে না পাওয়া পর্যন্ত তার খোঁজ করতে যায় না?
5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
৫আর সেটিকে খুঁজে পেলে সে খুশী হয়ে তাকে কাঁধে তুলে নেয়।
6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
৬পরে ঘরে এসে বন্ধু বান্ধব ও প্রতিবেশীদের ডেকে বলে, আমার সঙ্গে আনন্দ কর, কারণ আমার যে মেষটি হারিয়ে গিয়েছিল, তা আমি খুঁজে পেয়েছি।”
7 I say to you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine righteous persons, who need no repentance.
৭আমি তোমাদের বলছি, “ঠিক সেইভাবে একজন পাপী মন ফেরালে স্বর্গে আনন্দ হবে; যারা পাপ থেকে মন ফেরান দরকার বলে মনে করে না, এমন নিরানব্বই জন ধার্ম্মিকের জন্য তত আনন্দ হবে না।”
8 Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she loseth one piece, doth not light a lamp, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she findeth it?
৮অথবা কোনো এক স্ত্রীলোক, যার দশটি সিকি আছে, সে যদি একটি হারিয়ে ফেলে, তবে প্রদীপ জ্বালিয়ে ঘর ঝাঁট দিয়ে যে পর্যন্ত তা না পায়, ভালো করে খুঁজে দেখে না?
9 And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
৯আর সেটি খুঁজে পেলে পর সে বন্ধু বান্ধব ও প্রতিবেশীদের ডেকে বলে, আমার সঙ্গে আনন্দ কর, কারণ আমি যে সিকিটি হারিয়ে ফেলেছিলাম, তা খুঁজে পেয়েছি।
10 Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
১০ঠিক সেইভাবে, আমি তোমাদের বলছি, “একজন পাপী মন ফেরালে ঈশ্বরের দূতদের উপস্থিতিতে আনন্দ হয়।”
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
১১আর তিনি বললেন, “এক ব্যক্তির দুটি ছেলে ছিল;”
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided to them his living.
১২ছোটো ছেলেটি তার বাবাকে বলল, বাবা, টাকা ও সম্পত্তির যে অংশ আমার ভাগে পড়ে, তা আমাকে দিয়ে দাও। তাতে তিনি তাদের মধ্যে সম্পত্তি ও টাকা ভাগ করে দিলেন।
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
১৩কিছুদিন পরে ছোটো ছেলেটি সব কিছু নিয়ে দূর দেশে চলে গেল, আর সেখানে সে বেনিয়মে জীবন কাটিয়ে নিজের সব টাকা পয়সা উড়িয়ে দিল।
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
১৪সে সব কিছু খরচ করে ফেললে পর সেই দেশে ভীষণ দূর্ভিক্ষ হল, তাতে সে কষ্টে পড়তে লাগল।
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
১৫তখন সে সেই দেশের একজন লোকের কাজ নিল; আর সে তাকে শূকর চরানোর জন্য নিজের জমিতে পাঠিয়ে দিল;
16 And he was longing to fill his belly with the husks that the swine ate: and no man gave to him.
১৬তখন, শূকরে যে শুঁটি খেত, সেই শুঁটি সে খেতে ইচ্ছা করলো, কারণ কেউই তাকে খাবার খেতে দেওয়ার মত ছিল না।
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, and I am perishing with hunger!
১৭কিন্তু সে নিজের ভুল বুঝতে পেরে বলল, আমার বাবার কত চাকরেরা অনেক অনেক খাবার পাচ্ছে, কিন্তু আমি এখানে খিদেতে মরে যাচ্ছি।
18 I will arise and go to my father, and will say to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
১৮আমি উঠে আমার বাবার কাছে গিয়ে বলব, বাবা, আমি তোমার ও স্বর্গের বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছি;
19 And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
১৯আমি আর তোমার ছেলে নামের যোগ্য নই; তোমার একজন চাকরের মত আমাকে রাখ।
20 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
২০পরে সে উঠে তার বাবার কাছে আসল। সে দূরে থাকতেই তাকে দেখেই তার বাবার খুব করুণা হল, আর দৌড়িয়ে গিয়ে তাকে জড়িয়ে ধরে চুমু দিতে থাকলেন।
21 And the son said to him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
২১তখন ছেলেটি বলল, বাবা, আমি তোমার ও স্বর্গরাজ্যের বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করেছি, আমি আর তোমার ছেলে নামের যোগ্য নই।
22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
২২কিন্তু তার বাবা নিজের চাকরদেরকে বললেন, তাড়াতাড়ি করে সবচেয়ে ভাল জামাটি নিয়ে এস, আর একে পরিয়ে দাও এবং এর হাতে আংটি ও পায়ে জুতো দাও;
23 And bring here the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
২৩আর মোটাসোটা বাছুরটি এনে মার; আমরা খাওয়া দাওয়া করে আনন্দ করি;
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
২৪কারণ আমার এই ছেলেটি মারা গিয়েছিল, কিন্তু এখন বাঁচলো; সে হারিয়ে গিয়েছিল, কিন্তু এখন পাওয়া গেল। তাতে তারা আমোদ প্রমোদ করতে লাগল।
25 Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
২৫তখন তাঁর বড় ছেলেটি মাঠে ছিল; পরে সে আসতে আসতে যখন বাড়ির কাছে পৌঁছালো, তখন বাজনা ও নাচের শব্দ শুনতে পেল।
26 And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
২৬আর সে একজন চাকরকে কাছে ডেকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, এ সব কি?
27 And he said to him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
২৭সে তাকে বলল, তোমার ভাই এসেছে এবং তোমার বাবা মোটাসোটা বাছুরটি মেরেছেন, কারণ তিনি তাকে সুস্থ অবস্থায় ফিরে পেয়েছেন।
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore his father came out, and entreated him.
২৮তাতে সে রেগে গেল, ভিতরে যেতে চাইল না; তখন তার বাবা বাইরে এসে সাধাসাধি করতে লাগলেন।
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither have I at any time transgressed thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
২৯কিন্তু সে তার বাবাকে বলল, দেখ, এত বছর ধরে আমি তোমার সেবাযত্ন করে আসছি, কখনও তোমার আদেশ অমান্য করিনি, তবুও আমার বন্ধুদের সাথে আমোদ প্রমোদ করবার জন্য তুমি কখনও একটি ছাগলের বাচ্চাও দাওনি;
30 But as soon as this thy son had come, who hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
৩০কিন্তু তোমার এই ছেলে যে, বেশ্যাদের সঙ্গে তোমার টাকা পয়সা নষ্ট করেছে, সে যখন আসল, তারই জন্য মোটাসোটা বাছুরটি মারলে।
31 And he said to him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
৩১তিনি তাকে বললেন, “বাবা, তুমি সবদিন আমার সঙ্গে আছ, আর যা কিছু আমার, সবই তোমার।
32 It was right that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
৩২কিন্তু আমাদের আমোদ প্রমোদ ও আনন্দ করা উচিত, কারণ তোমার এই ভাই মারা গিয়েছিল এবং এখন বাঁচলো; হারিয়ে গিয়েছিল, এখন পাওয়া গেল।”
