< Judges 7 >

1 Then Jerubbaal, who is Gideon, and all the people that were with him, rose early, and encamped beside the well of Harod: so that the host of the Midianites were on the north side of them, by the hill of Moreh, in the valley.
Jerub-Baal, onye bụkwa Gidiọn, na ndị agha ya niile biliri nʼisi ụtụtụ, maa ụlọ ikwu ha nʼisi iyi Harod. Ma ndị agha Midia mara ụlọ ikwu nke ha nʼakụkụ ugwu ebe ndị Izrel nọ, nʼime ndagwurugwu nke dị nso nʼugwu nta More.
2 And the LORD said to Gideon, The people that are with thee are too many for me to give the Midianites into their hands, lest Israel vaunt themselves against me, saying, My own hand hath saved me.
Mgbe ahụ, Onyenwe anyị gwara Gidiọn okwu sị ya, “Lee, ndị ikom gị dị ọtụtụ. Agaghị m enyefe ndị Midia nʼaka ha, ma ọ bụghị otu a, Izrel ga-anya isi megide m, sị, ‘Ike aka m azọpụtala m.’
3 Now therefore, proclaim in the ears of the people, saying, Whoever is fearful and afraid, let him return and depart early from mount Gilead. And there returned of the people twenty and two thousand; and there remained ten thousand.
Ugbu a, maa ọkwa nye ndị agha sị ha, ‘Onye ọbụla ụjọ na-atụ, ya hapụ ugwu Gilead laghachi azụ.’” Nʼihi nke a, iri puku ndị agha abụọ na abụọ laghachiri azụ nʼụlọ nke aka ha. Ma ndị agha dị puku iri nʼọnụọgụgụ fọdụrụ.
4 And the LORD said to Gideon, The people are yet too many; bring them down to the water, and I will try them for thee there: and it shall be, that of whom I say to thee, This shall go with thee, the same shall go with thee; and of whomever I say to thee, This shall not go with thee, the same shall not go.
5 So he brought down the people to the water: and the LORD said to Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shalt thou set by himself; likewise every one that boweth down upon his knees to drink.
6 And the number of them that lapped, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink water.
7 And the LORD said to Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thy hand: and let all the other people go every man to his place.
Onyenwe anyị sịrị Gidiọn, “Ọ bụ narị ndị ikom atọ ndị a raara mmiri ka m ga-eji zọpụta gị, ma rarakwa ndị Midia nye gị nʼaka. Zilaga ndị fọdụrụ ka ha laa nʼụlọ nke aka ha.”
8 So the people took provisions in their hand, and their trumpets: and he sent all the rest of Israel every man to his tent, and retained those three hundred men: and the host of Midian was beneath him in the valley.
Gidiọn zilagara ndị Izrel ndị a nʼụlọ ikwu ha ma hapụ naanị narị mmadụ atọ ndị napụtara ndị ahụ na-ala ala ngwongwo niile ha ji ebu agha, na opi ike. Ndị Midia mara ụlọ ikwu ha na ndagwurugwu, nʼebe na-adịghị anya site nʼebe Gidiọn nọ.
9 And it came to pass the same night, that the LORD said to him, Arise, go down to the host; for I have delivered it into thy hand.
Nʼabalị ahụ, Onyenwe anyị gwara Gidiọn okwu sị ya, “Bilie, gaa lụso ọmụma ụlọ ikwu ahụ agha, nʼihi na ana m aga inyefe ha nʼaka gị.
10 But if thou fearest to go down, go thou with Phurah thy servant down to the host:
Ma ọ bụrụ na ụjọ na-atụ gị ibuso ha agha, duru Pura onyeozi gị gaa nso nʼọmụma ụlọ ikwu ahụ,
11 And thou shalt hear what they say; and afterward shall thy hands be strengthened to go down to the host. Then went he down with Phurah his servant to the outside of the armed men that were in the host.
ṅaa ntị, nụrụ ihe ha na-ekwu. Emesịa, ị ga-abụ onye a gbara ume ibu agha megide ọmụma ụlọ ikwu ahụ.”
12 And the Midianites and the Amalekites and all the children of the east lay along in the valley like grasshoppers for multitude; and their camels were without number, as the sand by the sea side for multitude.
13 And when Gideon had come, behold, there was a man that told a dream to his friend, and said, Behold, I dreamed a dream, and, lo, a cake of barley bread rolled into the host of Midian, and came to a tent, and smote it that it fell, and overturned it, that the tent lay flat.
Gidiọn rutere mgbe otu onye nọ na-akọrọ enyi ya banyere nrọ ọ rọrọ. Ọ na-asị, “Arọrọ m nrọ, ebe otu ogbe achịcha dị gburugburu, e ji ọka balị mee dabatara nʼime ụlọ ikwu ndị Midia. O ji ike dị egwu tie ụlọ ikwu a, nke mere na ụlọ ikwu a dajiri, kpuo ihu nʼala.”
14 And his friend answered and said, This is nothing else except the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel: for into his hand hath God delivered Midian, and all the host.
Onye ibe ya zara sị, “Nke a abụghị ihe ọzọ karịa mma agha Gidiọn nwa Joash, onye Izrel na-aga ịbịakwute anyị nʼebe a. Chineke enyefeela ndị Midia na ụlọ ikwu ya niile nʼaka ya.”
15 And it was so, when Gideon heard the telling of the dream, and its interpretation, that he worshipped, and returned to the host of Israel, and said, Arise; for the LORD hath delivered into your hand the host of Midian.
16 And he divided the three hundred men into three companies, and he put a trumpet in every man’s hand, with empty pitchers, and lamps within the pitchers.
17 And he said to them, Look on me, and do likewise: and, behold, when I come to the outside of the camp, it shall be that, as I do, so shall ye do.
Ọ sịrị ha, “Unu na-ele m anya, meekwa ihe m na-eme. Mgbe anyị bịaruru nso na mpụta ebe ụlọ ikwu ahụ dị, meenụ ihe ọbụla unu hụrụ m mere.
18 When I blow with a trumpet, I and all that are with me, then blow ye the trumpets also on every side of all the camp, and say, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
Mgbe ọbụla mụ na ndị so m nʼazụ fụrụ opi ike anyị, unu niile ga-afụkwa opi ike unu nʼakụkụ ọbụla unu nọ, tie mkpu, sị, ‘Anyị dịnyere Onyenwe anyị, dịnyekwara Gidiọn.’”
19 So Gideon, and the hundred men that were with him, came to the outside of the camp in the beginning of the middle watch; and they had but newly set the watch: and they blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers that were in their hands.
Nʼabalị ahụ, mgbe etiti abalị ahụ gabigasịrị, Gidiọn na narị ndị agha ya gbeere egbere ruo na mpụta ebe ndị agha Midia mara ụlọ ikwu ha. Nʼoge a, ha ka gbanwere ndị agha na-eche nche.
20 And the three companies blew the trumpets, and broke the pitchers, and held the lamps in their left hands, and the trumpets in their right hands to blow with: and they cried, The sword of the LORD, and of Gideon.
Ụzọ ndị agha Gidiọn atọ ahụ fụrụ opi ike ha, tiwakwaa ite aja ha. Ha ji ọwaọkụ ndị ahụ nʼaka ekpe ha na opi ike ha gaje igbu nʼaka nri ha, ha tiri mkpu sị, “Mma agha Onyenwe anyị, na mma agha Gidiọn!”
21 And they stood every man in his place around the camp: and all the host ran, and cried, and fled.
Onye ọbụla nʼime ha guzoro nʼebe o kwesiri ịnọ gburugburu ọmụma ụlọ ikwu ahụ. Ndị Midia niile malitere ịgba ọsọ, na-etikwa mkpu akwa mgbe ha na-agbalaga.
22 And the three hundred blew the trumpets, and the LORD set every man’s sword against his companion, even throughout all the host: and the host fled to Bethshittah in Zererath, and to the border of Abelmeholah, to Tabbath.
Mgbe ha fụrụ narị opi ike atọ ndị ahụ, Onyenwe anyị mere ka ndị ikom niile nọ nʼakụkụ niile nke ọmụma ụlọ ikwu ahụ tụgharịa were mma agha gburịta onwe ha. Ndị agha ahụ gbapụrụ ọsọ gbara gaa Bet-Shita nʼụzọ Zerera, gbarukwaa nke oke ala Ebel-Mehola, nke dị nso Tabat.
23 And the men of Israel gathered themselves together out of Naphtali, and out of Asher, and out of all Manasseh, and pursued the Midianites.
24 And Gideon sent messengers throughout all mount Ephraim, saying, Come down against the Midianites, and take before them the waters to Bethbarah and Jordan. Then all the men of Ephraim gathered themselves together, and took the waters to Bethbarah and Jordan.
25 And they took two princes of the Midianites, Oreb and Zeeb; and they slew Oreb upon the rock Oreb, and Zeeb they slew at the winepress of Zeeb, and pursued Midian, and brought the heads of Oreb and Zeeb to Gideon on the other side of Jordan.
E gbukwara Zeeb nʼebe a na-azọcha vaịnị. Ebe ahụ na-azakwa aha Zeeb ruo taa. Ha bipụrụ Oreb na Zeeb isi buru ha jekwuru Gidiọn nʼakụkụ osimiri Jọdan.
