Judges 5
1 Then sang Deborah and Barak the son of Abinoam on that day, saying,
És énekelt Debóra meg Bárák, Abínoám fia, ama napon, mondván:
2 Praise ye the LORD for the avenging of Israel, when the people willingly offered themselves.
Midőn vezéreltek vezérek Izraélben, midőn magát fölajánlotta a nép – áldjátok az Örökkévalót!
3 Hear, O ye kings; give ear, O ye princes; I, even I, will sing to the LORD; I will sing praise to the LORD God of Israel.
Halljátok királyok, figyeljetek fejedelmek; én az Örökkévalónak hadd énekelek én, dallok az Örökkévalónak, Izraél Istenének.
4 LORD, when thou wentest out of Seir, when thou didst march out of the field of Edom, the earth trembled, and the heavens poured, the clouds also poured water.
Örökkévaló, mikor elindultál Széirből, mikor lépdeltél Edóm mezeje felől, a föld megrendült, az egek is csepegtek, felhők is csepegtettek vizet;
5 The mountains melted from before the LORD, even that Sinai from before the LORD God of Israel.
hegyek szétfolytak az Örökkévaló előtt, ez a Színaj, az Örökkévaló, Izraél Istene előtt.
6 In the days of Shamgar the son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were unoccupied, and the travellers walked through byways.
Samgár, Anát fia napjaiban, Jáél napjaiban, szüneteltek az utak; s az ösvényeken járók görbe utakon járnak.
7 The inhabitants of the villages ceased, they ceased in Israel, until that I Deborah arose, that I arose a mother in Israel.
Szüneteltek a nyílt helyek Izraélben, szüneteltek, míg föl nem keltem én Debóra, föl nem keltem, anya Izraélben.
8 They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?
Választ új isteneket, akkor harcz a kapuknál, paizs nem látható, sem kopja negyvenezer közt Izraélben.
9 My heart is toward the governors of Israel, that offered themselves willingly among the people. Bless ye the LORD.
Szívem Izraél törvénytevőié, kik fölajálták magukat a nép között: áldjátok az Örökkévalót.
10 Speak, ye that ride on white donkeys, ye that sit in judgment, and walk by the way.
Fehérlő szamarakon nyargalók, ti, kik terítőkön ültök, és ti, kik jártok az úton, szólaljatok meg!
11 They that are delivered from the noise of archers in the places of drawing water, there shall they rehearse the righteous acts of the LORD, even the righteous acts toward the inhabitants of his villages in Israel: then shall the people of the LORD go down to the gates.
A zsákmányosztók hangjánál, a merítő vályúk közt – ott beszéljék el az Örökkévaló igaz tetteit; igaz tetteit a nyílt helyekkel Izraélben; akkor leszállt a kapukhoz az Örökkévaló népe.
12 Awake, awake, Deborah: awake, awake, utter a song: arise, Barak, and lead thy captivity captive, thou son of Abinoam.
Ébredj, ébredj, Debóra; ébredj, ébredj, mondj éneket! Kelj föl, Bárák, vidd el foglyaidat, Abínóám fia.
13 Then he made him that remaineth have dominion over the nobles among the people: the LORD made me have dominion over the mighty.
Akkor maradék győzött népnek hatalmasain, az Örökkévaló győzött érettem a hősökön.
14 Out of Ephraim was there a root of them against Amalek; after thee, Benjamin, among thy people; out of Machir came down governors, and out of Zebulun they that handle the pen of the writer.
Efraim közül – gyökerük Amálékben – utánad, Benjámin, csapatiddal; Mákhir közül leszálltak törvénytevők és Zebúlún közül a törvényíró vesszejével vonulók.
15 And the princes of Issachar were with Deborah; even Issachar, and also Barak: he was sent on foot into the valley. For the divisions of Reuben there were great thoughts of heart.
Jisszákhárnak nagyjai Debórával, s a mint Jisszákhár, úgy Bárák, völgybe rohant nyomaiban. Reúbén vízerei mentén nagyok a szív fontolgatásai.
16 Why abodest thou among the sheepfolds, to hear the bleatings of the flocks? For the divisions of Reuben there were great searchings of heart.
Mért maradtál az aklok között, hallgatni a nyájak sípolását? Reúbén vízerei mentén nagyok a szív megfontolásai.
17 Gilead abode beyond Jordan: and why did Dan remain in ships? Asher continued on the sea shore, and abode in his inlets.
Gileád túl a Jordánon vesztegel, Dán pedig – miért lakik hajókon? Ásér maradt tengerek révén és öblei mellett vesztegel!
18 Zebulun and Naphtali were a people that jeoparded their lives to death in the high places of the field.
Zebúlún nép, mely halálnak vetette oda életét, Naftáli is a mezőség magaslatain.
19 The kings came and fought, then fought the kings of Canaan in Taanach by the waters of Megiddo; they took no gain of money.
Jöttek királyok, harczoltak, akkor harczoltak Kanaán királyai, Táanákhban, Megiddó vizeinél, prédát ezüstben nem nyertek.
20 They fought from heaven; the stars in their courses fought against Sisera.
Egekből harczoltak, a csillagok pályáikból harczoltak Szíszera ellen.
21 The river of Kishon swept them away, that ancient river, the river Kishon. O my soul, thou hast trodden down strength.
Kísón patakja elsodorta őket, őskor patakja Kísón patakja. Lépj föl, lelkem, hatalommal!
22 Then were the horsehoofs broken by the means of the pransings, the pransings of their mighty ones.
Akkor dobogtak a ló patái ügetéstől, ügetésétől méneinek.
23 Curse ye Meroz, said the angel of the LORD, curse ye bitterly its inhabitants; because they came not to the help of the LORD, to the help of the LORD against the mighty.
Átkozzátok Mérózt – szól az Örökkévaló angyala – átkozzátok átkozva lakóit, hogy nem jöttek az Örökkévaló segítségére, az Örökkévaló segítségére a hősök közt.
24 Blessed above women shall Jael the wife of Heber the Kenite be, blessed shall she be above women in the tent.
Áldassék az asszonyok fölött Jáél, a kénita Chéber neje; a sátorülő asszonyok fölött áldassék!
25 He asked water, and she gave him milk; she brought forth butter in a lordly dish.
Vizet kért, tejet adott, urak csészéjében nyújtotta a tejfölt.
26 She put her hand to the nail, and her right hand to the workmen’s hammer; and with the hammer she smote Sisera, she smote off his head, when she had pierced and struck through his temples.
Kezét kinyújtja a szög után, jobbját a munkások pörölye után, rácsap Szíszerára, beveri fejét, összezúzza, átfúrja halántékát.
27 At her feet he bowed, he fell, he lay down: at her feet he bowed, he fell: where he bowed, there he fell down dead.
Lábai között alágörnyedt, lehanyatlott, ott feküdt; lábai között alágörnyedt, lehanyatlott; a hol alágörnyedt, ott lehanyatlott legyőzötten.
28 The mother of Sisera looked out at a window, and cried through the lattice, Why is his chariot so long in coming? why tarry the wheels of his chariots?
Az ablakon kitekintett és jajgatott, Szíszera anyja a rácsozaton át: Miért késik jönni szekérhada, miért késnek fogatainak léptei?
29 Her wise ladies answered her, yea, she returned answer to herself,
A legbölcsebbik a hölgyei között felel neki, ő is válaszol a szavaira:
30 Have they not found? have they not divided the spoil; to every man a damsel or two; to Sisera a spoil of dyed garments, a spoil of dyed garments of needlework, of dyed garments of needlework on both sides, for the necks of them that take the spoil?
hisz csak lelnek, osztanak zsákmányt, egy leányzót, két leányzót minden férfinak, tarka ruhák zsákmányát Szíszerának, tarka ruhák zsákmányát, varrottast, tarka ruhát, két varrottast a rabnő nyakára.
31 So let all thy enemies perish, O LORD: but let them that love him be as the sun when he goeth forth in his might. And the land had rest forty years.
Így vesszenek el ellenségeid mind, oh Örökkévaló; de a kik szeretik őt – mint mikor fölkel a nap az ő hatalmában! – És nyugta volt az országnak negyven évig.
