Judges 2
1 And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to depart from Egypt, and have brought you to the land which I swore to your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you.
Και ανέβη άγγελος Κυρίου από Γαλγάλων εις Βοκίμ και είπε, Σας ανεβίβασα εξ Αιγύπτου και σας έφερα εις την γην την οποίαν ώμοσα προς τους πατέρας σας· και είπα, Δεν θέλω αθετήσει την προς εσάς διαθήκην μου εις τον αιώνα·
2 And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this?
και σεις δεν θέλετε κάμει συνθήκην προς τους κατοίκους του τόπου τούτου· τα θυσιαστήρια αυτών θέλετε καταστρέψει. Δεν υπηκούσατε όμως εις την φωνήν μου· διά τι επράξατε τούτο;
3 Therefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you; but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare to you.
Διά τούτο και εγώ είπα, Δεν θέλω εκδιώξει αυτούς απ' έμπροσθέν σας· αλλά θέλουσιν είσθαι εναντίοι σας, και οι θεοί αυτών θέλουσιν είσθαι παγίς εις εσάς.
4 And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spoke these words to all the children of Israel, that the people lifted up their voice, and wept.
Και καθώς ελάλησεν ο άγγελος του Κυρίου τους λόγους τούτους προς πάντας τους υιούς Ισραήλ, ο λαός ύψωσε την φωνήν αυτού και έκλαυσε.
5 And they called the name of that place Bochim: and they sacrificed there to the LORD.
Και εκάλεσαν το όνομα του τόπου εκείνου Βοκίμ· και εθυσίασαν εκεί εις τον Κύριον.
6 And when Joshua had let the people go, the children of Israel went every man to his inheritance to possess the land.
Και ότε απέλυσε τον λαόν ο Ιησούς, οι υιοί Ισραήλ υπήγον έκαστος εις την κληρονομίαν αυτού, διά να κατακληρονομήσωσι την γην.
7 And the people served the LORD all the days of Joshua, and all the days of the elders that outlived Joshua, who had seen all the great works of the LORD, that he did for Israel.
Και ελάτρευσαν ο λαός τον Κύριον πάσας τας ημέρας του Ιησού και πάσας τας ημέρας των πρεσβυτέρων, οίτινες επέζησαν μετά τον Ιησούν και είδον πάντα τα έργα τα μεγάλα του Κυρίου, όσα έκαμεν υπέρ του Ισραήλ.
8 And Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of the LORD, died, being an hundred and ten years old.
Και ετελεύτησεν Ιησούς, ο υιός του Ναυή, ο δούλος του Κυρίου, ηλικίας εκατόν δέκα ετών.
9 And they buried him in the border of his inheritance in Timnathheres, in the mount of Ephraim, on the north side of the hill Gaash.
Και έθαψαν αυτόν εις το όριον της κληρονομίας αυτού εν Θαμνάθ-αρές, εν τω όρει Εφραΐμ, κατά το βόρειον μέρος του όρους Γαάς.
10 And also all that generation were gathered to their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the LORD, nor yet the works which he had done for Israel.
Και πάσα έτι η γενεά εκείνη προσετέθησαν εις τους πατέρας αυτών· και εσηκώθη άλλη γενεά μετ' αυτούς, ήτις δεν εγνώρισε τον Κύριον ουδέ τα έργα, τα οποία έκαμεν υπέρ του Ισραήλ.
11 And the children of Israel did evil in the sight of the LORD, and served Baalim:
Και έπραξαν οι υιοί Ισραήλ πονηρά ενώπιον του Κυρίου και ελάτρευσαν τους Βααλείμ·
12 And they forsook the LORD God of their fathers, who brought them out of the land of Egypt, and followed other gods, of the gods of the people that were around them, and bowed themselves to them, and provoked the LORD to anger.
και εγκατέλιπον Κύριον τον Θεόν των πατέρων αυτών, τον εξαγαγόντα αυτούς εκ γης Αιγύπτου, και υπήγον κατόπιν άλλων θεών, εκ των θεών των λαών των πέριξ αυτών, και προσεκύνησαν αυτούς και παρώργισαν τον Κύριον.
13 And they forsook the LORD, and served Baal and Ashtaroth.
Και εγκατέλιπον τον Κύριον και ελάτρευσαν τον Βάαλ και τας Ασταρώθ.
14 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel, and he delivered them into the hands of spoilers that spoiled them, and he sold them into the hands of their enemies around them, so that they could not any longer stand before their enemies.
Και εξήφθη ο θυμός του Κυρίου κατά του Ισραήλ, και παρέδωκεν αυτούς εις την χείρα των λεηλατιστών, και ελεηλάτησαν αυτούς· και επώλησεν αυτούς εις την χείρα των εχθρών αυτών κύκλω, ώστε δεν ηδυνήθησαν πλέον να σταθώσι κατά πρόσωπον των εχθρών αυτών.
15 Wherever they went out, the hand of the LORD was against them for evil, as the LORD had said, and as the LORD had sworn to them: and they were greatly distressed.
Πανταχού όπου εξήρχοντο, η χειρ του Κυρίου ήτο εναντίον αυτών προς κακόν, καθώς ελάλησεν ο Κύριος και καθώς ώμοσεν ο Κύριος προς αυτούς· και ήλθον εις μεγάλην αμηχανίαν.
16 Nevertheless the LORD raised up judges, who delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.
Τότε ανέστησεν ο Κύριος κριτάς, οίτινες έσωσαν αυτούς εκ της χειρός των λεηλατούντων αυτούς.
17 And yet they would not hearken to their judges, but they played the harlot with other gods, and bowed themselves to them: they turned quickly out of the way which their fathers walked in, obeying the commandments of the LORD; but they did not so.
Πλην ουδέ εις τους κριτάς αυτών υπήκουσαν, αλλ' επόρνευσαν κατόπιν άλλων θεών και προσεκύνησαν αυτούς· εξέκλιναν ταχέως από της οδού, εις την οποίαν περιεπάτησαν οι πατέρες αυτών υπακούοντες εις τας εντολάς του Κυρίου· δεν έκαμον ούτω.
18 And when the LORD raised up judges for them, then the LORD was with the judge, and delivered them out of the hand of their enemies all the days of the judge: for the LORD repented because of their groanings by reason of them that oppressed them and burdened them.
Και ότε ανέστησεν ο Κύριος εις αυτούς κριτάς, τότε ο Κύριος ήτο μετά του κριτού και έσωζεν αυτούς εκ της χειρός των εχθρών αυτών καθ' όλας τας ημέρας του κριτού· διότι εσπλαγχνίσθη ο Κύριος εις τους στεναγμούς αυτών τους εξ αιτίας των καταθλιβόντων αυτούς και καταπιεζόντων αυτούς.
19 And it came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they returned, and corrupted themselves more than their fathers, in following other gods to serve them, and to bow down to them; they ceased not from their own doings, nor from their stubborn way.
Ότε δε απέθνησκεν ο κριτής, επέστρεφον και διεφθείροντο χειρότερα παρά τους πατέρας αυτών, υπάγοντες κατόπιν άλλων θεών, διά να λατρεύωσιν αυτούς και να προσκυνώσιν αυτούς· δεν έπαυον από των πράξεων αυτών ουδέ από της οδού αυτών της διεστραμμένης.
20 And the anger of the LORD was hot against Israel; and he said, Because that this people hath transgressed my covenant which I commanded their fathers, and have not hearkened to my voice;
Και εξήφθη ο θυμός του Κυρίου κατά του Ισραήλ, και είπεν, Επειδή ο λαός ούτος παρέβη την διαθήκην μου, την οποίαν προσέταξα εις τους πατέρας αυτών, και δεν υπήκουσεν εις την φωνήν μου·
21 I also will not henceforth drive out from before them any of the nations which Joshua left when he died:
και εγώ δεν θέλω εκδιώξει πλέον απ' έμπροσθεν αυτών ουδέν εκ των εθνών, τα οποία αφήκεν ο Ιησούς ότε ετελεύτησε,
22 That through them I may test Israel, whether they will keep the way of the LORD to walk in it, as their fathers kept it, or not.
διά να δοκιμάσω τον Ισραήλ διά μέσου αυτών, εάν φυλάττωσι την οδόν του Κυρίου, περιπατούντες εν αυτή, καθώς εφύλαξαν αυτήν οι πατέρες αυτών, ή ουχί.
23 Therefore the LORD left those nations, without driving them out speedily; neither did he deliver them into the hand of Joshua.
Και αφήκε Κύριος τα έθνη ταύτα, χωρίς να εκδιώξη ταχέως αυτά· ουδέ παρέδωκεν αυτά εις την χείρα του Ιησού.
