John 7
1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Judaea, because the Jews sought to kill him.
E depois disto Jesus andava pela Galilea, e já não queria andar pela Judeia, porquanto os judeus procuravam mata-lo.
2 Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand.
E estava próxima a festa dos judeus, a dos tabernáculos.
3 His brethren therefore said to him, Depart from here, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest.
Disseram-lhe pois seus irmãos: sai daqui, e vai para a Judeia, para que também os teus discípulos vejam as obras que fazes.
4 For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou doest these things, show thyself to the world.
Porque ninguém, que procura ser conhecido, faz coisa alguma em oculto. Se fazes estas coisas, manifesta-te ao mundo.
5 For neither did his brethren believe in him.
Porque nem ainda seus irmãos criam nele.
6 Then Jesus said to them, My time is not yet come: but your time is always ready.
Disse-lhes pois Jesus: Ainda não é chegado o meu tempo, mas o vosso tempo sempre está pronto.
7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify concerning it, that its works are evil.
O mundo não vos pode aborrecer, mas ele me aborrece a mim, porquanto dele testifico que as suas obras são más.
8 Go ye up to this feast: I go not up yet to this feast; for my time is not yet full come.
Subi vós a esta festa: eu não subo ainda a esta festa; porque ainda o meu tempo não está cumprido.
9 When he had said these words to them, he abode still in Galilee.
E, havendo-lhes dito estas coisas, ficou na Galilea.
10 But when his brethren had gone up, then he went also to the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.
Mas, tendo seus irmãos já subido à festa, então subiu ele também, não manifestamente, mas como em oculto.
11 Then the Jews sought him at the feast, and said, Where is he?
Ora os judeus buscavam-no na festa, e diziam: Onde está ele?
12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him: for some said, He is a good man: others said, Nay; but he deceiveth the people.
E havia grande murmuração entre a multidão a respeito dele. Diziam alguns: ele é bom. E outros diziam: Não, antes engana o povo
13 Yet no man spoke openly of him for fear of the Jews.
Todavia ninguém falava dele abertamente, por medo dos judeus.
14 Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.
Porém, no meio da festa, subiu Jesus ao templo, e ensinava.
15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
E os judeus maravilhavam-se, dizendo: Como sabe este letras, não as tendo aprendido?
16 Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
Jesus lhes respondeu, e disse: A minha doutrina não é minha, mas daquele que me enviou.
17 If any man will do his will, he shall know concerning the doctrine, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
Se alguém quizer fazer a vontade dele, da mesma doutrina conhecerá se é de Deus, ou se eu falo de mim mesmo.
18 He that speaketh from himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.
Quem fala de si mesmo busca a sua própria glória, mas o que busca a glória daquele que o enviou esse é verdadeiro, e não há nele injustiça.
19 Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?
Não vos deu Moisés a lei? e nenhum de vós observa a lei. Porque procurais matar-me?
20 The people answered and said, Thou hast a demon: who goeth about to kill thee?
A multidão respondeu, e disse: Tens demônio; quem procura matar-te?
21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel.
Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhes: Fiz uma obra, e todos vos maravilhais.
22 Moses therefore gave to you circumcision; ( not because it is from Moses, but from the fathers; ) and ye on the sabbath circumcise a man.
Por isso Moisés vos deu a circuncisão (não que fosse de Moisés, mas dos paes), e no sábado circuncidais um homem.
23 If a man on the sabbath receiveth circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have restored a man to sound health on the sabbath?
Se o homem recebe a circuncisão no sábado, para que a lei de Moisés não seja quebrantada, indignais-vos contra mim, porque no sábado curei de todo um homem?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Não julgueis segundo a aparência, mas julgai segundo a reta justiça.
25 Then said some of them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill?
Então alguns dos de Jerusalém diziam: Não é este o que procuram matar?
26 But, lo, he speaketh boldly, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ?
E ei-lo ai está falando livremente, e nada lhe dizem. Porventura sabem verdadeiramente os príncipes que este é o Cristo?
27 But we know this man where he is from: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth where he is from.
Mas bem sabemos de onde este é; porém, quando vier o Cristo, ninguém saberá de onde ele é.
28 Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying, Ye both know me, and ye know where I am from: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not.
Clamava pois Jesus no templo, ensinando, e dizendo: Vós conheceis-me, e sabeis de onde sou, e eu não vim por mim mesmo, mas aquele que me enviou é verdadeiro, o qual vós não conheceis.
29 But I know him: for I am from him, and he hath sent me.
Porém eu conheço-o, porque dele sou e ele me enviou.
30 Then they sought to take him: but no man laid hands on him, because his hour was not yet come.
Procuravam pois prendê-lo, mas ninguém lançou mão dele, porque ainda não era chegada a sua hora.
31 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done?
E muitos da multidão creram nele, e diziam: Quando o Cristo vier, fará ainda mais sinais do que os que este tem feito?
32 The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.
Os fariseus ouviram que a multidão murmurava dele estas coisas; e os fariseus e os principais dos sacerdotes mandaram servidores a prendê-lo.
33 Then said Jesus to them, Yet a little while am I with you, and then I go to him that sent me.
Disse-lhes pois Jesus: Ainda um pouco de tempo estou convosco, e vou para aquele que me enviou.
34 Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there ye cannot come.
Vós me buscareis, e não me achareis; e aonde eu estou vós não podeis vir
35 Then said the Jews among themselves, Where will he go, that we shall not find him? will he go to the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
Disseram pois os judeus uns para os outros: Para onde irá este, que o não acharemos? Irá porventura para os dispersos entre os gregos, e ensinar os gregos?
36 What manner of saying is this that he said, Ye shall seek me, and shall not find me: and where I am, there ye cannot come?
Que palavra é esta que disse: buscar-me-eis, e não me achareis; e, Aonde eu estou vós não podeis ir?
37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirsteth, let him come to me, and drink.
E no último dia, o grande dia da festa, Jesus pôs-se em pé, e clamou, dizendo: Se alguém tem sede, venha a mim, e beba.
38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.
Quem crê em mim, como diz a escritura, rios d'água viva manarão do seu ventre.
39 ( But this he spoke of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Spirit was not yet given; because Jesus was not yet glorified.)
E isto disse ele do espírito que haviam de receber os que nele cressem; porque o Espírito Santo ainda não fôra dado, porque ainda Jesus não tinha sido glorificado.
40 Many of the people therefore, when they heard this saying, said, In truth this is the Prophet.
Então muitos da multidão, ouvindo esta palavra, diziam: Verdadeiramente este é o profeta.
41 Others said, This is the Christ. But some said, Shall Christ come out of Galilee?
Outros diziam: Este é o Cristo: mas diziam outros: Vem pois o Cristo da Galiléia?
42 Hath not the scripture said, That Christ cometh from the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, where David was?
Não diz a escritura que o Cristo vem da descendência de David, e de Belém, da aldeia de onde era David?
43 So there was a division among the people because of him.
Assim entre o povo havia dissensão por causa dele.
44 And some of them would have taken him; but no man laid hands on him.
E alguns deles queriam prendê-lo, mas ninguém lançou mão dele.
45 Then came the officers to the chief priests and Pharisees; and they said to them, Why have ye not brought him?
E os servidores foram ter com os principais dos sacerdotes e fariseus; e eles lhes disseram: Porque o não trouxestes?
46 The officers answered, Never man spoke like this man.
Responderam os servidores: Nunca homem algum falou assim como este homem.
47 Then the Pharisees answered them, Are ye also deceived?
Responderam-lhes pois os fariseus: também vós fostes enganados?
48 Have any of the rulers or of the Pharisees believed on him?
Creu nele porventura algum dos principais ou dos fariseus?
49 But this people who know not the law are cursed.
Mas esta multidão, que não sabe a lei, é maldita.
50 Nicodemus saith to them, (he that came to Jesus by night, being one of them, )
Nicodemos (que era um deles, o que de noite viera ter com Jesus) disse-lhes:
51 Doth our law judge any man, before it heareth him, and knoweth what he doeth?
Porventura condena a nossa lei um homem sem primeiro o ouvir e ter conhecimento do que faz?
52 They answered and said to him, Art thou also from Galilee? Search, and look: for out of Galilee ariseth no prophet.
Responderam eles, e disseram-lhe: Tu és também da Galiléia? Examina, e verás que da Galiléia nenhum profeta surgiu.
53 And every man went to his own house.
E cada um foi para sua casa.
