Job 37

1 At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of its place.

A esto también se espanta mi corazón y salta de su lugar.

2 Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.

Oíd oyendo su terrible voz, y la palabra que sale de su boca.

3 He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning to the ends of the earth.

Debajo de todos los cielos lo enderezará, y su luz le extenderá hasta los fines de la tierra.

4 After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not restrain them when his voice is heard.

Tras de él bramará el sonido, tronará con su valiente voz, y aunque sea oída su voz, no los detiene.

5 God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things he doeth, which we cannot comprehend.

Tronará Dios maravillosamente con su voz: él hace grandes cosas, y nosotros no lo entendemos.

6 For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.

Porque a la nieve dice: Sé en la tierra; y lluvia tras lluvia, y lluvia tras lluvia en su fortaleza.

7 He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.

Él pone un sello en la mano de todos los hombres, para que todos los hombres conozcan su obra.

8 Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.

La bestia se entrará en su escondrijo, y habitará en sus moradas.

9 From the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold from the north.

Del mediodía viene el torbellino, y de los vientos del norte el frío.

10 By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is narrowed.

Por el soplo de Dios se da el hielo, y las anchas aguas son constreñidas.

11 Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:

Además de esto, con la claridad fatiga las nubes, y las esparce con su luz.

12 And it is turned around by his counsels: that they may do whatever he commandeth them upon the face of the world on the earth.

Y ellas se revuelven al derredor por sus ingenios, para hacer sobre la haz del mundo en la tierra lo que él les mandó:

13 He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.

Unas veces por azote; otras, por causa de su tierra; otras, por misericordia las hará parecer.

14 Hearken to this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Escucha esto Job, repósate, y considera las maravillas de Dios.

15 Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?

¿Supiste tú cuando Dios las ponía en concierto, y hacía levantar la luz de su nube?

16 Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge?

¿Has tú conocido las diferencias de las nubes, las maravillas del perfecto de sabidurías?

17 How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?

¿Y eran calientes tus vestidos cuando él daba el reposo a la tierra del mediodía?

18 Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?

¿Extendiste tú con él los cielos firmes, como un espejo firme?

19 Teach us what we shall say to him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

Muéstranos, que le hemos de decir, porque no ordenemos en tinieblas.

20 Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man shall speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

¿Ha de serle contado cuando yo hablare? ¿Ha de serle dicho cuando alguno será damnificado?

21 And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.

También alguna vez no se ve la luz clara en los cielos; y pasa un viento y límpialos.

22 Fair weather cometh from the north: with God is terrible majesty.

De la parte del norte vendrá la serenidad, por el Dios terrible de alabanza.

23 As for the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in abundance of justice: he will not afflict.

Él es Todopoderoso, al cual no alcanzamos: grande en poder, y en juicio, y en multitud de justicia; no aflige.

24 Men therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.

Por tanto los hombres le temerán, todos los sabios de corazón no le comprenderán.
