< Job 21 >

1 But Job answered and said,
Eka Ayub nodwoko niya,
2 Hear diligently my speech, and let this be your consolations.
“Chikuru itu mondo uwinj wechena; yie utimna ngʼwono mondo uwinja.
3 Bear with me that I may speak; and after I have spoken, mock on.
An bende miyauru thuolo mondo awuo, to ka asetieko wuoyo, to udhi nyime gijara.
4 As for me, is my complaint to man? and if it were so, why should not my spirit be troubled?
“Uparo ni aywagora ne dhano? En angʼo ma dimi abed mos?
5 Mark me, and be astonished, and lay your hand upon your mouth.
Rangauru ane ka ok dubwogi; kendo ka ok dumak dhou ka uhum.
6 Even when I remember I am afraid, and trembling taketh hold on my flesh.
Ka aparo kuom kaka achal, to angʼengʼ angʼengʼa; kendo denda duto tetni.
7 Why do the wicked live, become old, and, are mighty in power?
Angʼo momiyo joma timbegi richo ngima angima, angʼo momiyo gidak amingʼa, kendo tekregi osiko medore ameda?
8 Their seed is established in their sight with them, and their offspring before their eyes.
Nyithindgi dongo maber mi bed gi keregi e diergi kendo nyikwagi bende nyaa ka pod gingima.
9 Their houses are safe from fear, neither is the rod of God upon them.
Miechgi oriti maber maonge gima bwogogi; kendo kum mar Nyasaye onge kuomgi.
10 Their bull gendereth, and faileth not; their cow calveth, and casteth not her calf.
Rwethgi koluwo dhok mamon to nyaka nywol; dhogegi nywolo nyiroye madongo duto kendo onge minywolo kobwogi.
11 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance.
Nyithindgi wuotho kanyakla ka jamni; to nyithindgi matindo giro ka nyiroye.
12 They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the flute.
Giwer ka gigoyo oyieke gi asili; kendo gimiel ka gigoyo orutu.
13 They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. (Sheol h7585)
Piny dhi kodgi maber higa ka higa, kendo githo ka gin gi kwe. (Sheol h7585)
14 Therefore they say to God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways.
To gingʼanyone Nyasaye kagiwacho niya, ‘Wewa mos!’ Waonge gi gombo moro amora mar ngʼeyo yoreni.
15 Who is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray to him?
Jehova Nyasaye Maratego to en ngʼa, ma dwatine? Koso en ohala mane mwabiro yudo kwalame?
16 Lo, their good is not in their hand: the counsel of the wicked is far from me.
Kata kamano mwandugigo ok giyudo gi tekregi giwegi, emomiyo apogora mabor gi pach joma richogo.
17 How oft is the lamp of the wicked put out! and how oft cometh their destruction upon them! God distributeth sorrows in his anger.
“To kata kamano, donge joricho manok ema tho piyo? Donge ji matin kuomgi kende ema masira mako; ma en masira ma mirimb Nyasaye ema okelo?
18 They are as stubble before the wind, and as chaff that the storm carrieth away.
Bende gi chalo gi lum ma yamo yiengo, kata gi mihudhi ma yamo tero?
19 God layeth up his iniquity for his children: he rewardeth him, and he shall know it.
Wachore ni Nyasaye kano kum monego okumgo ngʼato ne yawuote. An to awacho ni ber moloyo ka Nyasaye okumo jaketho owuon, mondo eka ngʼama oketho opuonjre.
20 His eyes shall see his destruction, and he shall drink of the wrath of the Almighty.
Ber mondo one chandruok ma en owuon ema okelo; kendo mondo orom gi Jehova Nyasaye Maratego.
21 For what pleasure hath he in his house after him, when the number of his months is cut off in the midst?
Nimar ok lichne kata ka otho moweyo joge ka giko ndalo mar ngimane ochopo.
22 Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high.
“Bende nitiere ngʼama nyalo ngʼadone Nyasaye rieko, ka en owuon ema ongʼado bura nyaka ne joma ni malo mogik?
23 One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet.
Ngʼat moro tho ka pod otegno kodak maber kendo owinjo maber chuth,
24 His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow.
ka dende orito maber, kendo chokene otegno.
25 And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure.
To ngʼat machielo to tho ka chunye opongʼ gi lit, ma ok oneno ber moro amora e ngimane duto.
26 They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.
Kata kamano giduto iyikogi machalre e lowo kendo kute nur kuomgi machalre.
27 Behold, I know your thoughts, and the devices which ye wrongfully imagine against me.
“Angʼeyo maber gik ma uparo, angʼeyo gik muchano e chunyu mondo ukinyago.
28 For ye say, Where is the house of the prince? and where are the dwelling places of the wicked?
Uwacho niya, ‘Dak koro wane od ruodheno, hembe mane joma richo odakiego koro ere?’
29 Have ye not asked them that go by the way? and do ye not know their signs,
To donge usepenjoe joma osedak amingʼa? Pod ok uyudo konyruok kuom weche ma gisebedo ka ginyisou,
30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth to the day of wrath.
ni ngʼama rach tony ka masira obiro kendo ni iresega chiengʼ mirima?
31 Who shall declare his way to his face? and who shall repay him what he hath done?
En ngʼa makwere e wangʼe koketho? Koso ngʼa machule kuom gima osetimo?
32 Yet he shall be brought to the grave, and shall remain in the tomb.
Chiengʼ ma iyike e liel to liende irito maber.
33 The clods of the valley shall be sweet to him, and every man shall draw after him, as there are innumerable before him.
Sa ma idhi yike to ji duto kowe, kendo lowo lwar kuome mos.
34 How then comfort ye me in vain, seeing in your answers there remaineth falsehood?
“Ka en kamano, to kara koro ere tiende hoya gi wecheu manonogo? Onge adiera kata achiel modongʼ kuom dwokougo, makmana miriambo lilo!”
