Jeremiah 52
1 Zedekiah was one and twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.
Sedequías tenía veintiún años cuando comenzó a reinar. Reinó once años en Jerusalén. Su madre se llamaba Hamutal, hija de Jeremías de Libna.
2 And he did that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.
Hizo lo que era malo a los ojos de Yahvé, según todo lo que había hecho Joacim.
3 For through the anger of the LORD it came to pass in Jerusalem and Judah, till he had cast them out from his presence, that Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.
Porque por la ira de Yahvé sucedió esto en Jerusalén y en Judá, hasta que los expulsó de su presencia. Sedequías se rebeló contra el rey de Babilonia.
4 And it came to pass in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it, and built forts against it on every side.
En el noveno año de su reinado, en el décimo mes, a los diez días del mes, vino Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, él y todo su ejército, contra Jerusalén, y acamparon contra ella; y construyeron contra ella fortalezas alrededor.
5 So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.
Así fue sitiada la ciudad hasta el año undécimo del rey Sedequías.
6 And in the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was great in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.
En el cuarto mes, a los nueve días del mes, el hambre fue grave en la ciudad, de modo que no hubo pan para el pueblo de la tierra.
7 Then the city was broken up, and all the men of war fled, and went forth from the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were by the city on all sides: ) and they went by the way of the plain.
Entonces se abrió una brecha en la ciudad, y todos los hombres de guerra huyeron y salieron de la ciudad de noche por el camino de la puerta entre los dos muros, que estaba junto al jardín del rey. Los caldeos estaban contra la ciudad por todas partes. Los hombres de guerra se dirigieron hacia el Arabá,
8 But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.
pero el ejército de los caldeos persiguió al rey y alcanzó a Sedequías en las llanuras de Jericó, y todo su ejército se dispersó de él.
9 Then they took the king, and carried him to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; where he gave judgment upon him.
Entonces tomaron al rey y lo llevaron ante el rey de Babilonia a Ribla, en la tierra de Hamat, y éste pronunció un juicio sobre él.
10 And the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he slew also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.
El rey de Babilonia mató a los hijos de Sedequías ante sus ojos. También mató a todos los príncipes de Judá en Ribla.
11 Then he put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in chains, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.
Le sacó los ojos a Sedequías, y el rey de Babilonia lo ató con grilletes, lo llevó a Babilonia y lo puso en prisión hasta el día de su muerte.
12 Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan, captain of the guard, who served the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem,
En el mes quinto, a los diez días del mes, que era el año decimonoveno del rey Nabucodonosor, rey de Babilonia, entró en Jerusalén Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, que estaba delante del rey de Babilonia.
13 And burned the house of the LORD, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, and all the houses of the great men, he burned with fire:
Quemó la casa de Yahvé y la casa del rey, y quemó todas las casas de Jerusalén, todas las casas grandes.
14 And all the army of the Chaldeans, that were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem on every side.
Todo el ejército de los caldeos, que estaba con el capitán de la guardia, derribó todos los muros de Jerusalén por todas partes.
15 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive certain of the poor of the people, and the rest of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to the king of Babylon, and the rest of the multitude.
Entonces Nabuzaradán, el capitán de la guardia, se llevó cautivos a los más pobres del pueblo y al resto de la gente que había quedado en la ciudad, y a los que habían desertado, que se habían pasado al rey de Babilonia, y al resto de la multitud.
16 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left certain of the poor of the land for vinedressers and for farmers.
Pero Nabuzaradán, el capitán de la guardia, dejó a los más pobres de la tierra para que fueran viñadores y agricultores.
17 Also the pillars of brass that were in the house of the LORD, and the bases, and the brasen sea that was in the house of the LORD, the Chaldeans broke, and carried all the brass of them to Babylon.
Los caldeos rompieron en pedazos las columnas de bronce que había en la casa de Yahvé y las bases y el mar de bronce que había en la casa de Yahvé, y se llevaron todo su bronce a Babilonia.
18 The caldrons also, and the shovels, and the snuffers, and the bowls, and the spoons, and all the vessels of brass by which they ministered, they took away.
También se llevaron las ollas, las palas, los apagadores, las palanganas, las cucharas y todos los recipientes de bronce con los que servían.
19 And the basins, and the firepans, and the bowls, and the caldrons, and the lampstands, and the spoons, and the cups; that which was of gold in gold, and that which was of silver in silver, the captain of the guard took away.
El capitán de la guardia se llevó las copas, los braseros, las palanganas, las ollas, los candiles, las cucharas y los cuencos; lo que era de oro, como oro, y lo que era de plata, como plata.
20 The two pillars, one sea, and twelve brasen bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made in the house of the LORD: the brass of all these vessels was without weight.
Tomaron las dos columnas, el mar único y los doce toros de bronce que estaban debajo de las bases, que el rey Salomón había hecho para la casa de Yahvé. El bronce de todos estos recipientes no tenía peso.
21 And concerning the pillars, the height of one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a band of twelve cubits surrounded it; and the thickness of it was four fingers: it was hollow.
En cuanto a las columnas, la altura de la única columna era de dieciocho codos; y una línea de doce codos la rodeaba, y su grosor era de cuatro dedos. Era hueca.
22 And a capital of brass was upon it; and the height of one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates upon the capitals around, all of brass. The second pillar also and the pomegranates were like these.
Sobre ella había un capitel de bronce de cinco codos de altura, con red y granadas en el capitel alrededor, todo de bronce. La segunda columna también tenía lo mismo, con granadas.
23 And there were ninety and six pomegranates on a side; and all the pomegranates upon the network were an hundred on all sides.
Había noventa y seis granadas a los lados; todas las granadas eran cien en la red alrededor.
24 And the captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the door:
El capitán de la guardia tomó a Seraías, el sumo sacerdote, y a Sofonías, el segundo sacerdote, y a los tres guardianes del umbral,
25 He took also out of the city an eunuch, who had the charge of the men of war; and seven men of them that were near the king’s person, who were found in the city; and the principal scribe of the host, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, that were found in the midst of the city.
y de la ciudad tomó a un oficial que estaba al frente de los hombres de guerra, y a siete hombres de los que vieron la cara del rey, que se encontraban en la ciudad, y al escriba del capitán del ejército, que reunía al pueblo del país, y a sesenta hombres del pueblo del país, que se encontraban en medio de la ciudad.
26 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.
Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, los tomó y los llevó al rey de Babilonia, a Ribla.
27 And the king of Babylon smote them, and put them to death in Riblah in the land of Hamath. Thus Judah was carried away captive out of his own land.
El rey de Babilonia los golpeó y los mató en Ribla, en la tierra de Hamat. Y Judá fue llevado cautivo de su tierra.
28 This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand Jews and three and twenty:
Este es el número del pueblo que Nabucodonosor llevó cautivo: en el séptimo año, tres mil veintitrés judíos;
29 In the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred and thirty and two persons:
en el año dieciocho de Nabucodonosor, llevó cautivas de Jerusalén a ochocientas treinta y dos personas;
30 In the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred and forty and five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.
en el año veintitrés de Nabucodonosor, Nabuzaradán, capitán de la guardia, llevó cautivas a setecientas cuarenta y cinco personas de los judíos. Todo el pueblo era de cuatro mil seiscientos.
31 And it came to pass in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon in the first year of his reign lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him out of prison,
En el año treinta y siete del cautiverio de Joaquín, rey de Judá, en el mes duodécimo, a los veinticinco días del mes, Evilmerodac, rey de Babilonia, en el primer año de su reinado, levantó la cabeza de Joaquín, rey de Judá, y lo liberó de la prisión.
32 And spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings that were with him in Babylon,
Le habló con amabilidad y puso su trono por encima del trono de los reyes que estaban con él en Babilonia,
33 And changed his prison garments: and he continually ate bread before him all the days of his life.
y le cambió las ropas de la prisión. Joaquín comió pan delante de él continuamente todos los días de su vida.
34 And for his food, there was a continual diet given him of the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
En cuanto a su pensión, el rey de Babilonia le daba continuamente una ración hasta el día de su muerte, todos los días de su vida.
