Jeremiah 45

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

யூதாவின் அரசன் யோசியாவின் மகன் யோயாக்கீம் அரசாண்ட நான்காம் வருடத்தில், இறைவாக்கினனான எரேமியா நேரியாவின் மகன் பாரூக்குக்குச் சொன்னதாவது: எரேமியா சொல்லச்சொல்ல, பாரூக் அவைகளைப் புத்தகத்தில் எழுதிய பின்பே இச்செய்தி கிடைத்தது:

2 Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, to thee, O Baruch;

“பாரூக்கே! இஸ்ரயேலின் இறைவனாகிய யெகோவா உனக்குக் கூறுவது இதுவே:

3 Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

நீயோ, ‘ஐயோ! எனக்குக் கேடு, யெகோவா என்னுடைய வேதனையுடன், துக்கத்தையும் சேர்த்திருக்கிறாரே; நான் துக்கத்தின் அழுகையினால் இளைப்படைந்தேன். ஆறுதலையும் நான் காணவில்லை’ என்று சொன்னாய்.

4 Thus shalt thou say to him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built I will break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

அதற்கு யெகோவா, இதை அவனுக்குச் சொல் என்கிறார். ‘யெகோவா கூறுவது இதுவே: நாடெங்கும் நான் கட்டியிருப்பதை கவிழ்த்துப் போடுவேன். நான் நாட்டினதை வேரோடு பிடுங்குவேன்.

5 And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give to thee for a prize in all places where thou goest.

அப்படியிருக்கையில் நீ உனக்கென்று பெரிய காரியங்களைத் தேடவேண்டுமோ? நீ அவைகளைத் தேடவேண்டாம். ஏனெனில் நான் எல்லா மக்கள்மேலும் அழிவைக் கொண்டுவரப் போகிறேன் என்று யெகோவா அறிவிக்கிறார். ஆனாலும் நீ எங்கே போகிறாயோ அங்கெல்லாம் உன்னை உயிருடன் தப்பவிடுவேன்’ என்றார்.”
