Jeremiah 39
1 In the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the tenth month, came Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and all his army against Jerusalem, and they besieged it.
No ano nono de Zedekias, rei de Judá, no mês décimo, veio Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, todo o seu exército, contra Jerusalém, e a cercaram.
2 And in the eleventh year of Zedekiah, in the fourth month, the ninth day of the month, the city was broken up.
No ano undécimo de Zedekias, no quarto mes, aos nove do mes, se fez a brecha na cidade.
3 And all the princes of the king of Babylon came in, and sat in the middle gate, even Nergalsharezer, Samgarnebo, Sarsechim, Rabsaris, Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, with all the rest of the princes of the king of Babylon.
E entraram nela todos os príncipes do rei de Babilônia, e pararam na porta do meio, a saber: Nergal-sarezer, Samgar-nebo, Sarsecim, Rab-saris, Nergal-sarezer, Rab-mag, e todo o resto dos príncipes do rei de Babilônia.
4 And it came to pass, when Zedekiah the king of Judah saw them, and all the men of war, then they fled, and went out of the city by night, by the way of the king’s garden, by the gate between the two walls: and he went out the way of the plain.
E sucedeu que, vendo-os Zedekias, rei de Judá, e todos os homens de guerra, fugiram, e sairam de noite da cidade, pelo caminho do jardim do rei, pela porta dentre os dois muros; e saiu pelo caminho da campina.
5 But the Chaldeans’ army pursued them, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho: and when they had taken him, they brought him to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath, where he gave judgment upon him.
Porém o exército dos caldeus os perseguiu; e alcançaram a Zedekias nas campinas de Jericó, e o prenderam, e o fizeram subir a Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, a Ribla, na terra de Hamath, e o sentenciou.
6 Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah.
E o rei de Babilônia matou os filhos de Zedekias em Ribla, diante dos meus olhos: também matou o rei de Babilônia a todos os nobres de Judá.
7 Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.
E cegou os olhos de Zedekias, e o atou com duas cadeias de bronze, para leva-lo a Babilônia.
8 And the Chaldeans burned the king’s house, and the houses of the people, with fire, and broke down the walls of Jerusalem.
E os caldeus queimaram a fogo a casa do rei e as casas do povo, e derribaram os muros de Jerusalém.
9 Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive into Babylon the remnant of the people that remained in the city, and those that fell away, that fell to him, with the rest of the people that remained.
E o resto do povo, que ficou na cidade, e os rebeldes que tinham caído para ele, e o resto do povo que ficou, levou Nebuzaradan, capitão da guarda, a Babilônia.
10 But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poor of the people, who had nothing, in the land of Judah, and gave them vineyards and fields at the same time.
Porém dos pobres de entre o povo que não tinha nada, deixou Nebuzaradan, capitão da guarda, alguns na terra de Judá; e deu-lhes vinhas e campos naquele dia.
11 Now Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon gave charge concerning Jeremiah to Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, saying,
Mas Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, havia dado ordem acerca de Jeremias, na mão de Nebuzaradan, capitão dos da guarda, dizendo:
12 Take him, and look well to him, and do him no harm; but do to him even as he shall say to thee.
Toma-o, e põe sobre ele os teus olhos, e não lhe faças nenhum mal; antes, como ele te disser, assim usarás com ele.
13 So Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard sent, and Nebushasban, Rabsaris, and Nergalsharezer, Rabmag, and all the king of Babylon’s princes;
Enviou pois Nebuzaradan, capitão dos da guarda, e Nebus-hasban, Rab-saris, Nergal-sarezer, Rab-mag, e todos os príncipes do rei de Babilônia:
14 Even they sent, and took Jeremiah out of the court of the prison, and committed him to Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan, that he should carry him home: so he dwelt among the people.
Enviaram pois, e tomaram a Jeremias do átrio da guarda, e o entregaram a Gedalias, filho de Ahicam, filho de Saphan, para que o levasse à casa; e ficou entre o povo.
15 Now the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, while he was shut up in the court of the prison, saying,
Também a Jeremias veio a palavra do Senhor, estando ele ainda encerrado no átrio da guarda, dizendo:
16 Go and speak to Ebedmelech the Cushite, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will bring my words upon this city for evil, and not for good; and they shall be accomplished in that day before thee.
Vai, e fala a Ebed-melech, o ethiope, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que eu trarei as minhas palavras sobre esta cidade para mal e não para bem: e serão cumpridas diante de ti naquele dia.
17 But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the LORD: and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.
Porém te farei escapar naquele dia, diz o Senhor, e não serás entregue na mão dos homens perante cuja face tu temes.
18 For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prize to thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the LORD.
Porque certamente te livrarei, e não cairás à espada: mas a tua alma terás por despojo, porquanto confiaste em mim, diz o Senhor.
