< Isaiah 59 >

1 Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
Ampa ara Awurade nsa nyɛ tiaa sɛ ɛrennye nkwa, na nʼasom nyɛ den sɛ ɛrente asɛm.
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
Nanso mo amumɔyɛ na atetew mo ne mo Nyankopɔn ntam; mo bɔne ama nʼanim ahintaw mo, a enti ɔrente.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath uttered perverseness.
Na mogya akeka mo nsa ho, afɔdi asra mo nsateaa ho. Mo ano akeka atosɛm, mo tɛkrɛma de amumɔyɛsɛm di nseku.
4 None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
Obiara nhwehwɛ atɛntrenee; obiara mfa nokwaredi mmɔ ne nkurow. Wɔde wɔn ho to nsɛnhuhuw so na wotwa nkontompo; wonyinsɛn ɔhaw na wɔwo bɔne.
5 They hatch eggs of an adder, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
Wosow nhurutoa nkesua na wɔnwen ananse ntontan. Nea odi wɔn nkesua biara bewu, mu baako nso bɔ a, ɛpae ahurutoa.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
Wɔn ntontan nye mma adurade; wɔrentumi mfa nea wɔyɛ nkata wɔn ho. Wɔn nneyɛe yɛ nneyɛe bɔne, na wodi akakabensɛm.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths.
Wotu mmirika kɔyɛ bɔne; wɔnkyɛ opira ne awudi ho. Baabiara a wɔbɛkɔ no, wɔsɛe hɔ pasaa.
8 The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whoever goeth in it shall not know peace.
Asomdwoe kwan no, wonnim; atɛntrenee nni wɔn akwan so. Wɔadan wɔn akwan kɔntɔnkye obiara a ɔnantew so no rennya asomdwoe.
9 Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, but we walk in darkness.
Enti atɛntrenee ne yɛn ntam aware, na adetrenee mmɛn yɛn. Yɛhwehwɛ hann, nanso ne nyinaa yɛ sum; nea ɛhyerɛn, nanso yɛnam sum kabii mu.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if we had no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; we are in desolate places as dead men.
Te sɛ anifuraefo no, yɛkeka wɔ afasu ho hwehwɛ ɔkwan te sɛ nnipa a wonni ani. Owigyinae no yehintihintiw sɛnea onwini adwo; yedu ahoɔdenfo mu a yɛte sɛ awufo.
11 We all roar like bears, and mourn bitterly like doves: we look for judgment, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far from us.
Yɛn nyinaa woro so te sɛ sisi; yɛde awerɛhow kurum sɛ mmorɔnoma. Yɛhwehwɛ atɛntrenee nso yenhu bi; ogye, nanso ɛwɔ akyirikyiri.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions are with us; and as for our iniquities, we know them;
Efisɛ, yɛn mfomso adɔɔso wɔ wʼani so, na yɛn bɔne di adanse tia yɛn. Yɛn mfomso da yɛn anim daa, na yegye yɛn amumɔyɛ to mu:
13 In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
atuatew ne nkontompo a etia Awurade, yɛn akyi a yɛdan kyerɛ yɛn Nyankopɔn, nhyɛso ne atuatew a yɛfoa so, atosɛm a efi koma mu a yɛka.
14 And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
Enti wɔapam atɛntrenee kɔ nʼakyi, na adetrenee akogyina baabi; nokware ahwe ase wɔ mmɔnten so nokwaredi ntumi mma mu.
15 Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment.
Nokware nni baabiara, obiara a ɔtwe ne ho fi bɔne ho no bɛyɛ ɔtamfo. Awurade hwɛe na ansɔ nʼani sɛ atɛntrenee nni hɔ.
16 And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation to him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
Ohuu sɛ obiara nni hɔ, ɛyɛɛ no nwonwa sɛ obiara nni hɔ a ɔbɛpata; enti ɔno ankasa basa dii nkwagye ho dwuma maa no, na ne trenee wowaw no.
17 For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
Ɔhyɛɛ trenee sɛ nkatabo, ne nkwagye dadekyɛw wɔ ne ti so. Ɔhyɛɛ aweretɔ ntade na ofuraa mmɔdemmɔ sɛ ntama.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the isles he will repay recompence.
Obegyina nea wɔayɛ so atua so ka nʼatamfo benya nʼabufuwhyew wɔn a wɔne no ayɛ dɔm benya so akatua; nsupɔw no nso obetua wɔn ka sɛnea ɛfata wɔn.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
Efi atɔe fam, nnipa besuro Awurade din na efi apuei, wɔde nidi bɛma nʼanuonyam. Na ɔbɛba sɛ asu a ayiri tɛnn na Awurade ahomegu repia no.
20 And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and to them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
“Ogyefo no bɛba Sion, na obeyi amumɔyɛsɛm nyinaa afi Yakob asefo mu,” sɛɛ na Awurade se.
21 As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
“Me de, eyi yɛ me ne wɔn apam,” sɛnea Awurade se ni. “Me Honhom a ɔwɔ mo so, ne me nsɛm a mede ahyɛ mo anom, remfi mo anom, anaa mo mma, ne mo mma asefo anom, efi saa bere yi kosi daa apem,” sɛɛ na Awurade se.
