Isaiah 37
1 And it came to pass, when king Hezekiah heard it, that he tore his clothes, and covered himself with sackcloth, and went into the house of the LORD.
Und es geschah, da der König Chiskijahu es hörte, da zerriß er seine Kleider und bedeckte sich mit dem Sack und ging hinein in das Haus Jehovahs.
2 And he sent Eliakim, who was over the household, and Shebna the scribe, and the elders of the priests covered with sackcloth, to Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz.
Und sandte Eljakim, der über das Haus war, und Schebna, den Schreiber, und die Ältesten der Priester mit Säcken bedeckt, an Jeschajahu, des Amoz Sohn, den Propheten.
3 And they said to him, Thus saith Hezekiah, This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth.
Und sie sagten zu ihm: So spricht Chiskijahu: Ein Tag der Drangsal, der Rüge und der Lästerung ist dieser Tag; denn die Söhne sind gekommen bis zum Durchbruch, und keine Kraft ist zum Gebären da.
4 It may be the LORD thy God will hear the words of Rabshakeh, whom the king of Assyria his master hath sent to reproach the living God, and will reprove the words which the LORD thy God hath heard: therefore lift up thy prayer for the remnant that is left.
Vielleicht hört Jehovah, dein Gott, die Worte Rabschakehs, den der König von Aschur, sein Herr, gesendet hat, zu schmähen den lebendigen Gott und straft ihn für die Worte, die Jehovah, dein Gott, gehört hat, und du, erhebe ein Gebet für den Überrest, der sich findet.
5 So the servants of king Hezekiah came to Isaiah.
Und die Knechte des Königs Chiskijahu kamen zu Jeschajahu.
6 And Isaiah said to them, Thus shall ye say to your master, Thus saith the LORD, Be not afraid of the words that thou hast heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed me.
Und Jeschajahu sprach zu ihnen: So sollt ihr sprechen zu eurem Herrn: Also spricht Jehovah: Fürchte dich nicht vor den Worten, die du gehört, mit denen Mich die Jungen des Königs von Aschur verhöhnt haben.
7 Behold, I will send a wind upon him, and he shall hear a rumour, and return to his own land; and I will cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.
Siehe, Ich will einen Geist in ihn geben, daß er ein Gerücht hört und in sein Land zurückkehrt, und Ich lasse ihn durch das Schwert in seinem Lande fallen.
8 So Rabshakeh returned, and found the king of Assyria warring against Libnah: for he had heard that he had departed from Lachish.
Und Rabschakeh kehrte zurück und fand den König von Aschur im Streit wider Libnah; denn er hatte gehört, daß er von Lachisch aufgebrochen war.
9 And he heard it said concerning Tirhakah king of Cush, He is come forth to make war with thee. And when he heard it, he sent messengers to Hezekiah, saying,
Und er hörte über Tirhakah, den König von Kusch sprechen: Er ist ausgezogen, mit dir zu streiten. Und er hörte es und sandte Boten an Chiskijahu, die sprachen:
10 Thus shall ye speak to Hezekiah king of Judah, saying, Let not thy God, in whom thou trustest, deceive thee, saying, Jerusalem shall not be given into the hand of the king of Assyria.
So sprechet zu Chiskijahu, dem König von Judah und sagt: Laß dich nicht verführen von deinem Gotte, auf Den du vertraust, daß du sprächest: Jerusalem wird nicht in die Hand des Königs von Aschur gegeben werden.
11 Behold, thou hast heard what the kings of Assyria have done to all lands by destroying them utterly; and shalt thou be delivered?
Siehe, du hast gehört, was die Könige von Aschur allen den Ländern getan, daß sie dieselben verbannten, und du willst errettet werden?
12 Have the gods of the nations delivered them which my fathers have destroyed, as Gozan, and Haran, and Rezeph, and the children of Eden who were in Telassar?
Haben die Götter der Völkerschaften diejenigen errettet, die meine Väter verdorben haben: Gosan und Charan und Rezeph und die Söhne Edens, zu Thelassar?
13 Where is the king of Hamath, and the king of Arphad, and the king of the city of Sepharvaim, Hena, and Ivah?
Wo ist der König von Chamath und der König von Arpad und der König der Stadt Sepharvajim, Hena und Ivah?
14 And Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers, and read it: and Hezekiah went up to the house of the LORD, and spread it before the LORD.
Und Chiskijahu nahm die Briefe aus der Hand der Boten und las sie und ging hinauf in das Haus Jehovahs und Chiskijahu breitete sie aus vor dem Angesichte Jehovahs.
15 And Hezekiah prayed to the LORD, saying,
Und Chiskijahu betete zu Jehovah und sprach:
16 O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, that dwellest between the cherubim, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth.
Jehovah der Heerscharen, der Gott Israels, Der Du auf den Cheruben sitzest. Du allein bist der Gott über alle Königreiche der Erde, Du hast die Himmel und die Erde gemacht.
17 Incline thy ear, O LORD, and hear; open thy eyes, O LORD, and see: and hear all the words of Sennacherib, who hath sent to reproach the living God.
Neige, Jehovah, Dein Ohr und höre. Tue auf, Jehovah, Dein Auge und siehe, und höre alle die Worte Sancheribs, die er gesandt hat, den lebendigen Gott zu schmähen.
18 Of a truth, LORD, the kings of Assyria have laid waste all the nations, and their countries,
Wahr ist es, Jehovah, Aschurs Könige haben alle Länder und ihr Land verödet.
19 And have cast their gods into the fire: for they were no gods, but the work of men’s hands, wood and stone: therefore they have destroyed them.
Und ihre Götter in das Feuer gegeben; denn sie sind keine Götter, sondern das Werk der Hände des Menschen, Holz und Stein; und die haben sie zerstört,
20 Now therefore, O LORD our God, save us from his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that thou art the LORD, even thou only.
Und nun, Jehovah, unser Gott, rette uns aus seiner Hand, daß alle Reiche der Erde wissen, daß Du allein, Jehovah, bist.
21 Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezekiah, saying, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Though thou hast prayed to me against Sennacherib king of Assyria:
Und Jeschajahu, Amoz Sohn, sandte an Chiskijahu und sprach: So spricht Jehovah, der Gott Israels: Was du zu Mir wegen Sancherib, des Königs von Aschur, gebetet hast:
22 This is the word which the LORD hath spoken concerning him; The virgin, the daughter of Zion, hath despised thee, and mocked thee; the daughter of Jerusalem hath shaken her head at thee.
Ist dies das Wort, das Jehovah über ihn geredet hat: Die Jungfrau, die Tochter Zions, verachtet dich, verlacht dich, es schüttelt hinter dir mit dem Haupt die Tochter Jerusalems.
23 Whom hast thou reproached and blasphemed? and against whom hast thou exalted thy voice, and lifted thy eyes on high? even against the Holy One of Israel.
Wen hast du geschmäht und verhöhnt, und gegen wen deine Stimme erhöht und zur Höhe erhoben deine Augen? Gegen den Heiligen Israels.
24 By thy servants hast thou reproached the Lord, and hast said, By the multitude of my chariots have I come up to the height of the mountains, to the sides of Lebanon; and I will cut down its tall cedars, and its choice fir trees: and I will enter into the height of its border, and the forest of his Carmel.
Durch deiner Knechte Hand hast du den Herrn geschmäht und gesprochen: Mit meiner Streitwagen Menge stieg ich auf der Berge Höhen, die Seiten des Libanon und ich haue um den Wuchs seiner Zedern und die auserwählten seiner Tannen, und komme in die Höhe an sein Ende, in den Wald seines Karmels.
25 I have dug, and drunk water; and with the sole of my feet have I dried up all the rivers of the besieged places.
Ich grabe hinab und trinke Wasser und trockne mit der Sohle meiner Füße alle Ströme Mazors.
26 Hast thou not heard long ago, how I have done it; and of ancient times, that I have formed it? now have I brought it to pass, that thou shouldest be to lay waste fortified cities into ruinous heaps.
Hast du nicht gehört, daß aus der Ferne Ich es getan, seit der Vorzeit Tagen, und habe es gebildet? Nun lasse Ich es kommen, und wird sein, daß Ich zu Steinhaufen zertrümmere die Bollwerke, die befestigten Städte.
27 Therefore their inhabitants were of small power, they were dismayed and confounded: they were as the grass of the field, and as the green herb, as the grass on the housetops, and as grain blighted before it is grown up.
Und ihre Bewohner sind kurz von Hand, entsetzt und beschämt; sie werden Kraut des Feldes und Grünes vom jungen Kraut, Gras der Dächer und Brandkorn, ehe es aufschießt.
28 But I know thy abode, and thy going out, and thy coming in, and thy rage against me.
Aber Ich weiß dein Sitzen und deinen Ausgang und deinen Eingang und deinen Aufruhr wider Mich.
29 Because thy rage against me, and thy tumult, is come up into my ears, therefore I will put my hook in thy nose, and my bridle in thy lips, and I will turn thee back by the way by which thou camest.
Weil dein Aufruhr wider Mich und deine Sorglosigkeit zu Meinen Ohren aufgestiegen ist, so lege Ich Meinen Haken in deine Nase und Meinen Zaum an deine Lippen, und bringe dich auf dem Weg zurück, den du gekommen bist.
30 And this shall be a sign to thee, Ye shall eat this year such as groweth of itself; and the second year that which springeth of the same: and in the third year sow ye, and reap, and plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.
Und das soll dir das Zeichen sein: Esset dieses Jahr solches, das von selbst gewachsen und das zweite Jahr solches, das aus diesem nachgewachsen; und im dritten Jahre säet und erntet und pflanzet Weinberge, und esset ihre Frucht.
31 And the remnant that hath escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
Und wiederum werden die Entkommenen des Hauses Jehudah, die verbleiben, Wurzeln ansetzen nach unten und Frucht bringen nach oben.
32 For out of Jerusalem shall go forth a remnant, and they that escape from mount Zion: the zeal of the LORD of hosts shall do this.
Denn von Jerusalem wird ausgehen der Überrest, und die Entkommenen vom Berge Zion. Der Eifer Jehovahs der Heerscharen wird solches tun.
33 Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the king of Assyria, He shall not come into this city, nor shoot an arrow there, nor come before it with shields, nor cast a mount against it.
Darum, so spricht Jehovah über Aschurs König: Nicht soll er kommen an diese Stadt und soll keinen Pfeil dahin abschießen, und nicht vor sie bringen den Schild, noch einen Wall aufschütten wider sie.
34 By the way that he came, by the same shall he return, and shall not come into this city, saith the LORD.
Auf dem Wege, den er gekommen, kehre er zurück, aber zu dieser Stadt soll er nicht kommen, spricht Jehovah.
35 For I will defend this city to save it for my own sake, and for my servant David’s sake.
Und schirmen will Ich diese Stadt, sie zu retten um Meinetwillen und um Davids, Meines Knechtes, willen.
36 Then the angel of the LORD went forth, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred and eighty and five thousand: and when they arose early in the morning, behold, they were all dead bodies.
Und es ging der Engel Jehovahs aus und schlug im Lager Aschurs hundertfünfundachtzigtausend. Und da sie des Morgens früh aufstanden, und siehe, da waren sie alle tote Leichen.
37 So Sennacherib king of Assyria departed, and went and returned, and dwelt at Nineveh.
Und Sancherib, Aschurs König, brach auf und ging hin und kehrte zurück und wohnte in Niniveh.
38 And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword; and they escaped into the land of Armenia: and Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.
Und es geschah, als er im Hause Misrochs, seines Gottes, anbetete, daß seine Söhne Adrammelech und Scharezer ihn mit dem Schwert schlugen. Und sie entrannen nach dem Lande Ararat, und sein Sohn Esarchaddon ward König an seiner Stelle.
