Isaiah 30

1 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not from me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:

¡Ay de los hijos que se apartan, dice Jehová, para hacer consejo, y no de mí: para cubrirse con cobertura, y no por mi Espíritu, añadiendo pecado a pecado!

2 That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!

Pártense para descender a Egipto, y no han preguntado mi boca: para fortificarse con la fuerza de Faraón, y poner su esperanza en la sombra de Egipto.

3 Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Mas la fortaleza de Faraón se os tornará en vergüenza, y el amparo en la sombra de Egipto en confusión.

4 For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.

Porque fueron sus príncipes a Zoán, y sus embajadores vinieron a Hanes.

5 They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.

Todos se avergonzarán con el pueblo que no les aprovechará, ni les ayudará, ni les traerá provecho: antes les será para vergüenza, y aun para confusión.

6 The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from which come the young and the old lion, the viper and flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young donkeys, and their treasures upon the humps of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.

Carga de las bestias del mediodía. Por tierra de aflicción y de angustia: leones y leonas en ella, basilisco y áspid volador: llevando sobre hombros de bestias sus riquezas, y sus tesoros sobre corcobas de camellos, a pueblo que no les aprovechará.

7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.

Ciertamente Egipto en vano y por demás dará ayuda: por tanto yo le di voces; que se reposase en su fuerza.

8 Now go, write it before them in a tablet, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:

Vé pues ahora, y escribe esta visión en una tabla delante de ellos, y escúlpela en libro, para que quede hasta el postrero día para siempre, por todos los siglos:

9 That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:

Que este pueblo es rebelde, hijos mentirosos, hijos que no quisieron oír la ley de Jehová:

10 Who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits:

Que dicen a los que ven: No veais; y a los profetas: No nos profeticéis lo recto, decídnos halagos, profetizád errores:

11 Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

Dejád el camino, apartáos de la senda, hacéd apartar de nuestra presencia el Santo de Israel.

12 Therefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and relied on them:

Por tanto el Santo de Israel dice así: Porque desachasteis esta palabra, y confiasteis en violencia y en iniquidad, y sobre ella estribasteis:

13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.

Por tanto este pecado os será como pared abierta que se va a caer, y como corcoba en muro alto, cuya caída viene súbita, y repentinamente.

14 And he shall break it as the breaking of the potter’s vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a piece to take fire from the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.

Y quebrarle ha como quebrantamiento de vaso de olleros, que sin misericordia le hacen pedazos: ni entre los pedazos se halla un tiesto para traer fuego del hogar, o para coger agua de una poza.

15 For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.

Porque así dijo el Señor Jehová, el Santo de Israel: En descanso, y en reposo seréis salvos: en quietud, y en confianza, será vuestra fortaleza; y no quisisteis.

16 But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.

Mas dijisteis: No; antes con caballos huiremos: por tanto vosotros huiréis. Sobre ligeros cabalgaremos: por tanto serán más ligeros vuestros perseguidores.

17 One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.

Un millar huirá a la amenaza de uno: a la amenaza de cinco vosotros todos huiréis, hasta que quedéis como mástil en la cumbre del monte, y como bandera sobre cabezo.

18 And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious to you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.

Por tanto Jehová os esperará para haber misericordia de vosotros; y por tanto será ensalzado, teniendo de vosotros piedad; porque Jehová es Dios de juicio: bienaventurados todos los que a él esperan.

19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious to thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.

Ciertamente pueblo morará en Sión, y en Jerusalem: nunca más llorarás: el que tiene misericordia, tendrá misericordia de ti: a la voz de tu clamor, en oyendo te responderá.

20 And though the Lord shall give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thy eyes shall see thy teachers:

Mas daros ha el Señor pan de congoja, y agua de angustia: tus enseñadores nunca más te serán quitados, mas tus ojos verán tus enseñadores.

21 And thy ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

Entonces tus oídos oirán a tus espaldas palabra que diga: Este es el camino, andád por él; porque no echéis a la mano derecha, y porque no echéis a la mano izquierda.

22 Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a polluted cloth; thou shalt say to it, Be gone from me.

Entonces profanarás la cobertura de tus esculturas de plata, y la vestidura de tu vaciadizo de oro; y apartarlas has como trapo manchado de menstruo; y decirles has: Sal fuera.

23 Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, with which thou shalt sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.

Entonces dará lluvia a tu sementera, cuando sembrares la tierra; y pan del fruto de la tierra; y será fértil y grueso; y tus ganados en aquel tiempo serán apacentados en anchas dehesas.

24 The oxen likewise and the young donkeys that plow the ground shall eat cured fodder, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.

Tus bueyes, y tus asnos que labran la tierra, comerán limpio grano, el cual será aventado con pala y zaranda.

25 And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.

Y habrá sobre todo monte alto, y sobre todo collado subido ríos, corrientes de aguas, el día de la gran matanza, cuando caerán las torres.

26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.

Y la luz de la luna será como la luz del sol, y la luz del sol siete veces mayor, como luz de siete días, el día que soldará Jehová la quebradura de su pueblo, y curará la llaga de su herida.

27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden of it is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

He aquí que el nombre de Jehová viene de lejos: su rostro encendido, y grave de sufrir: sus labios llenos de ira, y su lengua como fuego que consume;

28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.

Y su espíritu, como arroyo que sale de madre: partirá hasta el cuello, para zarandar las naciones con zaranda de vanidad; y poner freno que haga errar en las mejillas de los pueblos.

29 Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come upon the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.

Vosotros tendréis canción, como en noche, en la cual se celebra pascua, y alegría de corazón, como el que va con flauta, para venir al monte de Jehová, al Fuerte de Israel.

30 And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.

Y Jehová hará oír la potencia de su voz; y hará ver el descendimiento de su brazo con furor de rostro, y llama de fuego consumidor, con disipación, con avenida, y piedra de granizo.

31 For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, who smote with a rod.

Porque Asur que hirió con palo, con la voz de Jehová será quebrantado.

32 And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.

Y en todo mal paso habrá madero fundado, el cual Jehová hará hincar sobre él con tamboriles, y vihuelas, y con batallas de altura peleará contra ella.

33 For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile of it is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.

Porque Tofet está disputada desde ayer; para el rey también está aparejada: a la cual ahondó y ensanchó: su hoguera de fuego, y mucha leña: soplo de Jehová, como arroyo de azufre, que la encienda.
