Isaiah 18

1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Cush:

Ai da terra dos zumbidos de asas, que está além dos rios de Cuxe,

2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and stripped, to a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

Que envia embaixadores pelo mar, e em navios de junco sobre as águas, [com a ordem]: Ide, mensageiros velozes, a uma nação [de gente] alta e de pele lisa, a um povo temido desde seus territórios afora, uma nação dominadora e esmagadora, cuja terra os rios dividem.

3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.

Vós todos, habitantes do mundo, e vós, moradores da terra, vede quando for levantada a bandeira [nos] montes, e ouvi quando for tocada a trombeta.

4 For so the LORD said to me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.

Porque assim me disse o SENHOR: Estarei quieto olhando desde minha morada, como o calor ardente da luz do sol, como a nuvem de orvalho no calor da ceifa.

5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.

Porque antes da ceifa, quando a flor já se acabou, e as uvas brotam prestes a amadurecer, então ele podará as vides com a foice e, tendo cortado os ramos, ele os tirará [dali].

6 They shall be left together to the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

Eles serão deixados juntos para as aves dos montes, e para os animais da terra; e sobre eles as aves passarão o verão, e todos os animais da terra passarão o inverno sobre eles.

7 In that time shall the present be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and stripped, and from a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.

Naquele tempo, será trazido um presente ao SENHOR dos exércitos por um povo alto e de pele lisa, e um povo temível desde seus territórios afora; uma nação dominadora e esmagadora, cuja terra rios dividem, ao lugar que pertence ao nome do SENHOR dos exércitos, ao monte de Sião.
