Isaiah 18
1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Cush:
Oh, csattogó szárnyak országa, mely Kús folyóin túl van;
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and stripped, to a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
mely követeket küld a tengeren, gyékény hajókon a víz színén! Menjetek, gyors követek, a termetes és fényes nemzethez, a néphez, mely félelmetes, amióta van, a pusztítás és eltiprás nemzetéhez, melynek országát folyók hasítják.
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
Mind a világ lakói és a földnek lakosai, amint zászlót emelnek a hegyeken, majd látjátok és amint fújják a harsonát, meghalljátok.
4 For so the LORD said to me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
Mert így szólt az Örökkévaló hozzám: Hadd legyek nyugodt és hadd nézzem helyemen, mint a fényes forróság a napsugárban, mint harmatos felhő az aratás forróságában.
5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
Mert aratás előtt, midőn vége van a virágzásnak és érő bogyóvá lesz a virág, levágja a gallyakat a kacorokkal és az indákat eltávolítja, lemetszi.
6 They shall be left together to the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
Ott hagyatnak egyaránt a hegyek madarának és a föld vadjának; nyaralni fog rajta a madár és mind a föld vadja rajta fog telelni.
7 In that time shall the present be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and stripped, and from a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
Abban az időben ajándékot visznek az Örökkévalónak, a seregek urának, a termetes és fényes néptől, azon néptől, mely félelmetes, amióta van, a pusztítás és eltiprás nemzetétől, melynek országát folyók hasítják, az Örökkévaló a seregek ura nevének helyére, Ción hegyére.
