Isaiah 18
1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Cush:
Ουαί, γη σκιάζουσα διά των πτερύγων, η πέραν των ποταμών της Αιθιοπίας,
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and stripped, to a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled!
η εξαποστέλλουσα πρέσβεις διά θαλάσσης και με πλοία σπάρτινα επί των υδάτων. Υπάγετε, ταχύδρομοι αγγελιαφόροι, προς έθνος διηρπαγμένον και κατεσπαραγμένον, προς λαόν τρομερόν από της αρχής αυτού έως της σήμερον, έθνος μεμετρημένον και καταπεπατημένον, του οποίου την γην διήρπασαν οι ποταμοί.
3 All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, when he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.
Πάντες οι κάτοικοι του κόσμου και οι ενοικούντες επί της γης, βλέπετε, όταν υψωθή σημαία επί τα όρη· και ακούσατε, όταν εκπεμφθή φωνή σάλπιγγος.
4 For so the LORD said to me, I will take my rest, and I will consider in my dwelling place like a clear heat upon herbs, and like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
Διότι ούτως είπε Κύριος προς εμέ· Θέλω ησυχάσει και θέλω επιβλέψει εις το κατοικητήριόν μου, ως καύσων λαμπρότερος του φωτός, ως νεφέλη δρόσου εν τω καύσωνι του θέρους.
5 For before the harvest, when the bud is perfect, and the sour grape is ripening in the flower, he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks, and take away and cut down the branches.
Διότι πριν του θέρους, όταν το βλάστημα γείνη τέλειον και η αγουρίδα ωριμάση εκ του άνθους, θέλει κόψει τους βλαστούς διά κλαδευτηρίων και τας κληματίδας αποκόψας θέλει αφαιρέσει.
6 They shall be left together to the fowls of the mountains, and to the beasts of the earth: and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.
Θέλουσιν εγκαταλειφθή ομού διά τα όρνεα των βουνών και διά τα θηρία της γής· και τα όρνεα θέλουσι περάσει το θέρος επ' αυτούς, και πάντα τα θηρία της γης θέλουσι διαχειμάσει επ' αυτούς.
7 In that time shall the present be brought to the LORD of hosts of a people scattered and stripped, and from a people terrible from their beginning to this time; a nation powerful and oppressive, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of hosts, the mount Zion.
Εν εκείνω τω καιρώ θέλει φερθή δώρον προς τον Κύριον των δυνάμεων εκ λαού διηρπαγμένου και κατεσπαραγμένου και εκ λαού τρομερού από της αρχής αυτού έως της σήμερον, έθνους μεμετρημένου και καταπεπατημένου, του οποίου την γην διήρπασαν οι ποταμοί, εις τον τόπον του ονόματος του Κυρίου των δυνάμεων, το όρος Σιών.
