Hosea 6
1 Come, and let us return to the LORD: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
Tulkaa, palatkaamme Herran tykö, sillä hän on raadellut meitä, ja parantaa meidät, hän on lyönyt meitä, ja sitoo meidät.
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day will he raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.
Hän tekee meidät eläviksi kahden päivän kuluttua, kolmantena päivänä hän meidät herättää, ja me saamme elää hänen edessänsä.
3 Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD: his going forth is prepared as the morning; and he shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.
Niin tuntekaamme, pyrkikäämme tuntemaan Herra: hänen nousunsa on varma kuin aamurusko, hän tulee meille kuin sade, kuin kevätsade, joka kostuttaa maan.
4 O Ephraim, what shall I do to thee? O Judah, what shall I do to thee? for your goodness is as the morning cloud, and as the early dew it goeth away.
Mitä on minun tehtävä sinulle, Efraim, mitä on minun tehtävä sinulle, Juuda, kun teidän rakkautenne on kuin aamun pilvi, kuin varhain haihtuva kaste?
5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets; I have slain them by the words of my mouth: and thy judgments are as the light that goeth forth.
Sentähden minä olen antanut heille iskuja profeettain kautta, olen kuolettanut heitä suuni sanoilla. Ja sinun tuomiosi nousevat kuin aamun valo.
6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.
Sillä laupeutta minä haluan enkä uhria, ja Jumalan tuntemista enemmän kuin polttouhreja;
7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant: there have they dealt treacherously against me.
mutta he ovat ihmisten tavalla rikkoneet liiton: siinä he ovat olleet minulle uskottomat.
8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, and is polluted with blood.
Gilead on pahantekijäin kaupunki, täynnä veren jälkiä.
9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so the company of priests murder in the way by consent: for they commit lewdness.
Ja väijyväisten rosvojen kaltainen on pappien joukko: he murhaavat Sikemin tiellä; ilkitöitä he tekevät.
10 I have seen an horrible thing in the house of Israel: there is the harlotry of Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
Israelin heimon keskuudessa minä olen nähnyt kauhistuttavia tekoja: siellä on Efraimin haureus, Israel on itsensä saastuttanut.
11 Also, O Judah, he hath set an harvest for thee, when I returned the captivity of my people.
Myös sinun varallesi, Juuda, on asetettu elonleikkuu, silloin kun minä käännän kansani kohtalon.
