Deuteronomy 6

1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye may do them in the land where ye go to possess it:

൧നിങ്ങൾ കൈവശമാക്കുവാൻ ചെല്ലുന്ന ദേശത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ച് നടക്കേണ്ടതിനും നിന്റെ ജീവകാലം ഒക്കെയും നീയും നിങ്ങൾക്കുശേഷം നിങ്ങളുടെ സന്താനപരമ്പരകളും ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോട് അറിയിക്കുന്ന എല്ലാ ചട്ടങ്ങളും കല്പനകളും പ്രമാണിക്കുവാനും

2 That thou mayest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.

൨നിങ്ങൾ ദീർഘായുസ്സോട് കൂടി ഇരിക്കുവാനും നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ഉപദേശിച്ചുതരുവാൻ നൽകിയ കല്പനകളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും ഇവ ആകുന്നു.

3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.

൩ആകയാൽ യിസ്രായേലേ, നിനക്ക് നന്മയുണ്ടാകുവാനും നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ദേശത്ത് നിങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റവും വർദ്ധിക്കേണ്ടതിനും നീ കേട്ട് ജാഗ്രതയോടെ അനുസരിച്ചു നടക്കുക.

4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

൪യിസ്രായേലേ, കേൾക്കുക; യഹോവ നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമാകുന്നു; യഹോവ ഏകൻ തന്നെ.

5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

൫നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ നീ പൂർണ്ണഹൃദയത്തോടും പൂർണ്ണമനസ്സോടും പൂർണ്ണശക്തിയോടും കൂടി സ്നേഹിക്കേണം.

6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thy heart:

൬ഇന്ന് ഞാൻ നിന്നോട് കല്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ വചനങ്ങൾ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കണം.

7 And thou shalt teach them diligently to thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thy house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

൭നീ അവയെ നിന്റെ മക്കൾക്ക് ഉപദേശിച്ചുകൊടുക്കുകയും നീ വീട്ടിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോഴും വഴി നടക്കുമ്പോഴും കിടക്കുമ്പോഴും എഴുന്നേല്ക്കുമ്പോഴും അവയെക്കുറിച്ച് സംസാരിക്കുകയും വേണം.

8 And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thy hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thy eyes.

൮അവ അടയാളമായി നിന്റെ കൈമേൽ കെട്ടേണം; അവ നിന്റെ കണ്ണുകൾക്ക് മദ്ധ്യേ നെറ്റിപ്പട്ടമായി ധരിക്കണം.

9 And thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

൯അവ നിന്റെ വീടിന്റെ കട്ടിളകളിലും പടിവാതിലുകളിലും എഴുതണം.

10 And it shall be, when the LORD thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he swore to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou didst not build,

൧൦നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിനക്ക് തരുമെന്ന് അബ്രാഹാം, യിസ്ഹാക്ക്, യാക്കോബ്, എന്നീ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് നിന്നെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്ന്, നീ പണിയാത്ത വലുതും നല്ലതുമായ പട്ടണങ്ങളും,

11 And houses full of all good things, which thou didst not fill, and dug wells, which thou didst not dig, vineyards and olive trees, which thou didst not plant; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;

൧൧നീ നിറക്കാതെ സകലസമ്പത്തും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്ന വീടുകളും, നീ കുഴിക്കാത്ത കിണറുകളും, നീ നട്ടുണ്ടാക്കാത്ത മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടങ്ങളും ഒലിവുതോട്ടങ്ങളും, നിനക്ക് തരുകയും നീ തിന്ന് തൃപ്തി പ്രാപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമ്പോൾ

12 Then beware lest thou shouldest forget the LORD, who brought thee forth from the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

൧൨നിന്നെ അടിമവീടായ ഈജിപ്റ്റ്ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് കൊണ്ടുവന്ന യഹോവയെ മറക്കാതിരിക്കുവാൻ സൂക്ഷിച്ചുകൊള്ളുക.

13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

൧൩നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെട്ട് അവനെ സേവിക്കണം; അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ സത്യം ചെയ്യണം.

14 Ye shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the people which are around you;

൧൪നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയുടെ കോപം നിനക്ക് വിരോധമായി ജ്വലിച്ച്, നിന്നെ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്ന് നശിപ്പിക്കാതിരിക്കുവാൻ ചുറ്റുമുള്ള ജനതകളുടെ ദേവന്മാരായ അന്യദൈവങ്ങളുടെ പിന്നാലെ നീ പോകരുത്;

15 (For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God should be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth.

൧൫നിന്റെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിങ്ങളുടെ മദ്ധ്യത്തിൽ തീക്ഷ്ണതയുള്ള ദൈവം ആകുന്നു.

16 Ye shall not tempt the LORD your God, as ye tempted him in Massah.

൧൬നിങ്ങൾ മസ്സയിൽവെച്ച് പരീക്ഷിച്ചതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ പരീക്ഷിക്കരുത്.

17 Ye shall diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he hath commanded thee.

൧൭നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നൽകിയിട്ടുള്ള കല്പനകളും സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും നിങ്ങൾ ജാഗ്രതയോടെ പ്രമാണിക്കണം.

18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD swore to thy fathers,

൧൮നിനക്ക് നന്മയുണ്ടാകുന്നതിനും യഹോവ നിന്റെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് സത്യംചെയ്ത നല്ലദേശം നീ ചെന്ന് കൈവശമാക്കുന്നതിനും യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതുപോലെ

19 To cast out all thy enemies from before thee, as the LORD hath spoken.

൧൯നിന്റെ സകലശത്രുക്കളെയും നിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയുന്നതിനും നീ യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ ന്യായവും ഹിതകരവും ആയ കാര്യങ്ങൾ ചെയ്യണം.

20 And when thy son shall ask thee in time to come, saying, What mean the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD our God hath commanded you?

൨൦നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നിന്നോട് കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള സാക്ഷ്യങ്ങളും ചട്ടങ്ങളും വിധികളും എന്ത് എന്ന് നാളെ നിന്റെ മകൻ ചോദിക്കുമ്പോൾ, നീ നിന്റെ മകനോട് പറയേണ്ടത് എന്തെന്നാൽ:

21 Then thou shalt say to thy son, We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt; and the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand:

൨൧“ഞങ്ങൾ ഈജിപ്റ്റിൽ ഫറവോന് അടിമകൾ ആയിരുന്നു; എന്നാൽ യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ട് ഞങ്ങളെ അവിടെനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു.

22 And the LORD showed signs and wonders, great and terrible, upon Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his household, before our eyes:

൨൨ഈജിപ്റ്റിന്റെയും ഫറവോന്റെയും അവന്റെ സകല കുടുംബത്തിന്റെയും മേൽ ഞങ്ങൾ കാൺകെ യഹോവ മഹത്തായതും തീവ്രതയുള്ളതും ആയ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രവർത്തിച്ചു.

23 And he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore to our fathers.

൨൩ഞങ്ങളെയോ, താൻ നമ്മുടെ പിതാക്കന്മാരോട് സത്യംചെയ്ത ദേശത്തേക്ക് കൊണ്ടുവന്നാക്കേണ്ടതിന് അവിടെനിന്ന് പുറപ്പെടുവിച്ചു

24 And the LORD commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear the LORD our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as it is at this day.

൨൪എല്ലായ്പോഴും നാം ശുഭമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനും ഇന്നത്തെപ്പോലെ നമ്മെ ജീവനോടെ രക്ഷിക്കേണ്ടതിനുമായി നാം നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവയെ ഭയപ്പെടുവാനും ഈ ചട്ടങ്ങളെല്ലാം ആചരിക്കുവാനും യഹോവ നമ്മോട് കല്പിച്ചു.

25 And it shall be our righteousness, if we observe to do all these commandments before the LORD our God, as he hath commanded us.

൨൫നമ്മുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ നമ്മോട് കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ അവിടുത്തെ മുമ്പാകെ ഈ കല്പനകളെല്ലാം ആചരിക്കുവാൻ ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുമെങ്കിൽ നാം നീതിയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കും”.
