Deuteronomy 29
1 These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೋರೇಬಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ಮೋವಾಬ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಇವೇ:
2 And Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;
ಮೋಶೆಯು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು: ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಫರೋಹನಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೂ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೂ ಮಾಡಿದವುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
3 The great temptations which thy eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪರಿಶೋಧನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸೂಚಕಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅದ್ಭುತಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಾರೆ ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀರಿ.
4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.
ಆದರೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಂದಿನವರೆಗೂ ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುವ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳುವ ಕಿವಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲವಲ್ಲ!
5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes did not wear out upon you, and thy shoe did not wear out upon thy foot.
“ನಾನು ನಲವತ್ತು ವರ್ಷ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮರುಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಸಿದೆನು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳು ಹರಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೆರವಾಗಲಿ ಸವೆದುಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.
6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.
ನೀವು ರೊಟ್ಟಿ ತಿನ್ನಲಿಲ್ಲ; ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಯಾವ ಮದ್ಯವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಕುಡಿಯಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರು ಎಂಬುದು ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಹೀಗಾಯಿತು.”
7 And when ye came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle, and we smote them:
ನೀವು ಈ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಹೆಷ್ಬೋನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಸೀಹೋನನೂ, ಬಾಷಾನಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ಓಗನೂ ನಮ್ಮೆದುರಿಗೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಟರು. ನಾವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ,
8 And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.
ಅವರ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ರೂಬೇನ್ಯರಿಗೂ ಗಾದನವರಿಗೂ ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಅರ್ಧ ಗೋತ್ರಕ್ಕೂ ಸೊತ್ತಾಗಿ ಕೊಟ್ಟೆವು.
9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮಾಡುವ ಎಲ್ಲದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಫಲವಾಗುವಂತೆ ಈ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ನಡೆಯಬೇಕು.
10 Ye stand this day all of you before the LORD your God; your captains of your tribes, your elders, and your officers, with all the men of Israel,
ನೀವೆಲ್ಲರು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದೀರಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರೂ ಹಿರಿಯರೂ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ
11 Your little ones, your wives, and thy stranger that is in thy camp, from the hewer of thy wood to the drawer of thy water:
ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಾಳೆಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರದೇಶಿಯರೂ ನಿಮಗಾಗಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕಡಿಯುವವರೂ ನೀರು ಸೇದುವವರೂ ಸಹ
12 That thou shouldest enter into covenant with the LORD thy God, and into his oath, which the LORD thy God maketh with thee this day:
ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಸೇರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವರು ಆಣೆಯಿಟ್ಟು ಮುದ್ರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
13 That he may establish thee to day for a people to himself, and that he may be to thee a God, as he hath said to thee, and as he hath sworn to thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
ಆ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆ ಯಾವುದೆಂದರೆ, ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದಂತೆಯೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಾದ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಗೂ, ಇಸಾಕನಿಗೂ, ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೂ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆಯೂ, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ಜನರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ದೇವರಾಗಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೇ.
14 Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath;
ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತ್ರ ಈ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಈ ಆಣೆಯನ್ನೂ ಮಾಡುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ
15 But with him that standeth here with us this day before the LORD our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day:
ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತವರ ಸಂಗಡ, ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮೊಡನೆ ಇಲ್ಲದವರ ಸಂಗಡ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
16 (For ye know how we have dwelt in the land of Egypt; and how we came through the nations which ye passed by;
ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾವು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗೆ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದೆವೆಂದೂ, ನೀವು ದಾಟಿಬಂದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ನಾವು ಹೇಗೆ ದಾಟಿ ಬಂದೆವೆಂದೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿದೆ.
17 And ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them: )
ಅವರ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಮರ, ಕಲ್ಲು, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಬಂಗಾರಗಳ ಅಸಹ್ಯವಾದ ಬೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ನೋಡಿದ್ದೀರಲ್ಲವೇ?
18 Lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from the LORD our God, to go and serve the gods of these nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹೃದಯವುಳ್ಳ ಪುರುಷನಾದರೂ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯಾದರೂ ಕುಟುಂಬವಾದರೂ ಗೋತ್ರವಾದರೂ ಇರಬಾರದು. ಈ ಘೋರ ವಿಷವನ್ನೂ, ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಬೇರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಇರಬಾರದು.
19 And it should come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of my heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
ಶಾಪದಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿರುವ ಈ ಪ್ರತಿಜ್ಞೆಯನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ, “ನಾನು ಹಟ ಹಿಡಿದು, ಅವಿಧೇಯನಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೇ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡು ತನ್ನ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಇರಬಾರದು. ಅಂಥವನು ನೀರಾವರಿ ನಾಡಿಗೂ ಒಣ ನಾಡಿಗೂ ನಾಶನವನ್ನು ತರುವನು.
20 The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.
ಅಂಥವನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಉಳಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಆಗಲೇ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಕೋಪವೂ, ರೋಷವೂ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದು. ಈ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಶಾಪವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವುದು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕೆಳಗಿನಿಂದ ಅಳಿಸಿಬಿಡುವರು.
21 And the LORD shall single him out for evil from all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that are written in this book of the law:
ಈ ನಿಯಮದ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಪಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಗೋತ್ರಗಳೊಳಗಿಂದ ಕೇಡಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸುವರು.
22 So that the generation to come of your children that shall arise after you, and the stranger that shall come from a distant land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses which the LORD hath laid upon it;
ಹೀಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ತರುವಾಯ ಹುಟ್ಟುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸಂತತಿಯೂ, ದೂರದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬರುವ ಅನ್ಯನೂ, ಆ ದೇಶದ ವಿಪತ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೋಡುವರು.
23 And that its whole land is brimstone, and salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor doth it bear, nor doth any grass grow in it, like the overthrow of Sodom, and Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboim, which the LORD overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೈವಿಕ ಕೋಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಡವಿ ಹಾಕಿದ ಸೊದೋಮ್, ಗೊಮೋರ, ಅದ್ಮಾ, ಚೆಬೋಯಿಮ್ ಎಂಬ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಂತೆ ಆ ದೇಶವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಗಂಧಕವೂ, ಉಪ್ಪೂ ಉರಿಯುತ್ತಾ, ವ್ಯವಸಾಯವಾದರೂ ಹುಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಬೆಳೆಯದೆ ಇರುವುದು.
24 Even all the nations shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus to this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
ಆಗ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶದವರೂ, “ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಈ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಏಕೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ? ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೋಪಾಗ್ನಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವೇನು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳುವರು.
25 Then men shall say, Because they have forsaken the covenant of the LORD God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth from the land of Egypt:
ಆಗ ಜನರು, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟ್ ದೇಶದೊಳಗಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ತಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾಡಿದ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಉಲ್ಲಂಘಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
26 For they went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods which they knew not, and which he had not given to them:
ಅವರು ತಮಗೆ ನೇಮಕವಾಗದಿದ್ದ ಹಾಗು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದಿದ್ದ ಇತರ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವಲಂಬಿಸಿ ಪೂಜಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
27 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this book:
ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಈ ಗ್ರಂಥದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಶಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
28 And the LORD rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as it is this day.
ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವರನ್ನು ತೀವ್ರಕೋಪದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಮಹಾ ಆಸಕ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕಿ, ಇಂದು ಇರುವ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೇರೆ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.”
29 The secret things belong to the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ್ದು, ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ಈ ನಿಯಮದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಾವು ಕೈಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಮಗೂ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮಕ್ಕಳಿಗೂ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತವೆ.
