Amos 5
1 Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel.
イスラエルの家よ我が汝らに對ひて宣る此言を聽け 是は哀歎の歌なり
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up.
處女イスラエルは仆れて復起あがらず彼は己の地に扑倒さる 之を扶け起す者なし
3 For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel.
主ヱホバかく言たまふ イスラエルの家においては前に千人出たる邑は只百人のみのこり前に百人出たる邑は只十人のみのこらん
4 For thus saith the LORD to the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
ヱホバかくイスラエルの家に言たまふ 汝ら我を求めよ さらば生べし
5 But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beersheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought.
ベテルを求むるなかれ ギルガルに往なかれ ベエルシバに赴く勿れ ギルガルは必ず擄へられゆきベテルは無に歸せん
6 Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Bethel.
汝らヱホバを求めよ 然ば生べし 恐くはヱホバ火のごとくにヨセフの家に落くだりたまひてその火これを焼ん ベテルのためにこれを熄す者一人もあらじ
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and cast down righteousness to the earth,
汝ら公道を茵蔯に變じ正義を地に擲つる者よ
8 Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The LORD is his name:
昴宿および參宿を造り死の蔭を變じて朝となし晝を暗くして夜となし海の水を呼て地の面に溢れさする者を求めよ 其名はヱホバといふ
9 That strengtheneth the spoiled against the strong, so that the spoiled shall come against the fortress.
彼は滅亡を忽然強者に臨ましむ 滅亡つひに城に臨む
10 They hate him that rebuketh in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
彼らは門にありて勸戒る者を惡み正直を言ふ者を忌嫌ふ
11 Forasmuch therefore as your treading is upon the poor, and ye take from him burdens of wheat: ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them; ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine of them.
汝らは貧しき者を踐つけ麥の贐物を之より取る この故に汝らは鑿石の家を建しと雖どもその中に住ことあらじ 美しき葡萄園を作りしと雖どもその酒を飮ことあらじ
12 For I know your many transgressions and your mighty sins: they afflict the just, they take a bribe, and they turn aside the poor in the gate from their right.
我知る汝らの愆は多く汝らの罪は大なり 汝らは義き者を虐げ賄賂を取り門において貧き者を推抂ぐ
13 Therefore the prudent shall keep silence in that time; for it is an evil time.
是故に今の時は賢き者黙す 是惡き時なればなり
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken.
汝ら善を求めよ 惡を求めざれ 然らば汝ら生べし また汝らが言ごとく萬軍の神ヱホバ汝らと偕に在さん
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
汝ら惡を惡み善を愛し門にて公義を立よ 萬軍の神ヱホバあるひはヨセフの遺れる者を憐れみたまはん
16 Therefore the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord, saith thus; Wailing shall be in all streets; and they shall say in all the highways, Alas! alas! and they shall call the farmer to mourning, and such as are skilful in lamentation to wailing.
是故に主たる萬軍の神ヱホバかく言たまふ 諸の街衢にて啼ことあらん 諸の大路にて人哀哉哀哉と呼ん 又農夫を呼きたりて哀哭しめ啼女を招きて啼しめん
17 And in all vineyards shall be wailing: for I will pass through thee, saith the LORD.
また諸の葡萄園にも啼こと有べし 其は我汝らの中を通るべければなり ヱホバこれを言たまふ
18 Woe to you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light.
ヱホバの日を望む者は禍なるかな 汝ら何とてヱホバの日を望むや 是は昏くして光なし
19 As if a man fled from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
人 獅子の前を逃れて熊に遇ひ又家にいりてその手を壁に附て蛇に咬るるに宛も似たり
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?
ヱホバの日は昏くして光なく暗にして耀なきに非ずや
21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not take delight in your solemn assemblies.
我は汝らの節筵を惡みかつ藐視む また汝らの集會を悦ばじ
22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.
汝ら我に燔祭または素祭を獻ぐるとも我之を受納れじ 汝らの肥たる犢の感謝祭は我これを顧みじ
23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy harps.
汝らの歌の聲を我前に絶て汝らの琴の音は我これを聽じ
24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
公道を水のごとくに正義をつきざる河のごとくに流れしめよ
25 Have ye offered to me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
イスラエルの家よ汝らは四十年荒野に居し間 犠牲と供物を我に獻げたりしや
26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Molech and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
かへつて汝らは汝らの王シクテを負ひ汝らの偶像キウンを負へり 是即ち汝らの神とする星にして汝らの自ら造り設けし者なり
27 Therefore I will cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith the LORD, whose name is The God of hosts.
然ば我汝らをダマスコの外に移さん 萬軍の神ととなふるヱホバこれを言たまふ
