Acts 27
1 And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners to one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus’ band.
Mas cuando fue determinado que habíamos de navegar para Italia, entregaron a Pablo, y a algunos otros presos a un centurión llamado Julio, de la compañía Augusta.
2 And entering into a ship of Adramyttium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coasts of Asia; one Aristarchus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us.
Así que embarcándonos en una nave Adramittena, nos partimos para navegar por las costas de Asia, estando con nosotros un tal Aristarco, Macedonio, de Tesalónica.
3 And the next day we touched at Sidon. And Julius courteously treated Paul, and gave him liberty to go to his friends to refresh himself.
Y al día siguiente llegamos a Sidón, y Julio tratando a Pablo humanamente, le permitió, que fuese a sus amigos para ser de ellos bien tratado.
4 And when we had launched from there, we sailed under Cyprus, because the winds were contrary.
Y alzando velas de allí, navegamos bajo de Chipre; porque los vientos eran contrarios.
5 And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia.
Y habiendo pasado la mar que está junto a Cilicia y Pamfilia, vinimos a Mira, que es ciudad de Licia.
6 And there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy; and he put us on board.
Y hallando allí el centurión una nave Alejandrina, que iba a Italia, nos puso en ella.
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce had come off Cnidus, the wind did not permit us, we sailed under Crete, off Salmone;
Y navegando muchos días despacio, y habiendo apenas llegado delante de Gnido, no dejándonos el viento, navegamos bajo de Creta junto a Salmón.
8 And, scarcely passing it, came to a place which is called The fair havens; near which was the city of Lasea.
Y doblándola apenas, vinimos a un lugar que llaman Bellos Puertos, cerca del cual estaba la ciudad de Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
Y pasado mucho tiempo, y siendo ya peligrosa la navegación, porque ya era pasado el ayuno, Pablo los amonestaba,
10 And said to them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with harm and much damage, not only of the cargo and ship, but also of our lives.
Diciendo: Varones, veo que con perjuicio y mucho daño, no solo del cargamento y de la nave, mas aun de nuestras vidas, habrá de ser la navegación.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than the things which were spoken by Paul.
Mas el centurión creía más al maestre y al piloto, que a lo que Pablo decía.
12 And because the haven was not suitable to winter in, the greater part advised to depart from there also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
Y no habiendo puerto cómodo para invernar, los más acordaron de pasar aun de allí, por ver si de algún modo pudiesen llegar a Fenice, e invernar allí, que es un puerto de Creta, que mira al sudoeste, y al norueste.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing from there, they sailed close by Crete.
Y soplando blandamente el austro, pareciéndoles que ya tenían lo que deseaban, alzando velas iban costeando la Creta.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
Mas no mucho después dio contra la nave un viento tempestuoso que se llama Euroclydón.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
Y siendo arrebatada por él la nave, que no podía resistir al viento, la dejamos, y éramos llevados.
16 And running under a certain isle which is called Clauda, we had much work to secure the boat:
Y corriendo debajo de una pequeña isla que se llama Clauda, apenas pudimos ganar el esquife:
17 Which when they had taken it up, they used cables, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, struck sail, and so were driven.
El cual tomado, usaban de remedios ciñendo la nave; y teniendo temor que no diesen en la Sirte, abajadas las velas, eran así llevados.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
Y habiendo sido atormentados de una vehemente tempestad, el siguiente día alijaron el buque.
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
Y al tercero día nosotros con nuestras manos echamos los aparejos de la nave.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
Y no pareciendo sol ni estrellas por muchos días, y viniendo una tempestad no pequeña sobre nosotros, ya era perdida toda la esperanza de salvarnos.
21 But after being long without food Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened to me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
Y habiendo ya mucho que no comíamos, Pablo puesto en pie en medio de ellos, dijo: Fuera de cierto conveniente, oh varones, haberme escuchado a mí, y no haber partido de Creta, para ganar este perjuicio y daño.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of life among you, but of the ship.
Mas ahora os amonesto que tengáis buen ánimo; porque ninguna pérdida habrá de persona entre vosotros, sino solamente de la nave.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
Porque esta noche ha estado conmigo el ángel de Dios, de quien soy, y a quien sirvo,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
Diciendo: Pablo, no tengas temor: es menester que seas presentado delante de César; y, he aquí, Dios te ha dado a todos los que navegan contigo.
25 Therefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told to me.
Por tanto, oh varones, tenéd buen ánimo; porque yo confío en Dios que será así como me ha sido dicho.
26 But we must be cast upon a certain isle.
Mas es menester que demos en una isla.
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen thought that they drew near to some country;
Empero venida la catorcena noche, y siendo llevados de una a otra parte por el mar Adriático, los marineros a la media noche sospecharon que estaban cerca de alguna tierra.
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
Y echando la sonda, hallaron veinte brazas; y pasando un poco más adelante, volviendo a echar la sonda, hallaron quince brazas.
29 Then fearing lest we should fall upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
Y teniendo temor de dar en escollos, echando cuatro anclas de la popa, deseaban que se hiciese de día.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under pretence as though they would cast anchors out of the foreship,
Mas procurando los marineros de huirse de la nave, echando el esquife a la mar, con parecer como que querían largar las anclas de proa,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
Pablo dijo al centurión, y a los soldados: Si éstos no quedan en la nave, vosotros no podéis salvaros.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
Entonces los soldados cortaron las amarras del esquife, y dejáronle caer.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take food, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
Y como se comenzó a hacer de día, Pablo exhortaba a todos que comiesen, diciendo: Este es el catorceno día que esperáis y permanecéis ayunos, no comiendo nada.
34 Therefore I beseech you to take some food: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
Por tanto os ruego que comáis, porque esto es para vuestra salud: que ni aun un cabello de la cabeza de ninguno de vosotros perecerá.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
Y habiendo dicho esto, tomando el pan, dio gracias a Dios en presencia de todos; y rompiéndo lo, comenzó a comer.
36 Then they were all of good cheer, and they also took food.
Entonces todos teniendo ya mejor ánimo, comieron ellos también.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred and seventy and six souls.
Y éramos todas las personas en la nave doscientas y setenta y seis.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast the wheat into the sea.
Y hartados de comer, aliviaban la nave, echando el grano a la mar.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into which they purposed, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
Y como se hizo de día, no conocían la tierra; mas veían una ensenada, que tenía playa, a la cual acordaban de echar, si pudiesen, la nave.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves to the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoisted the mainsail to the wind, and made toward the shore.
Y alzando las anclas, se dejaron a la mar, largando también las ataduras de los gobernalles; y alzada la vela mayor al viento, íbanse a la playa.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the bow stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the stern was broken with the violence of the waves.
Mas dando en un lugar de dos mares, la nave dio al través; y la proa hincada estaba sin moverse, mas la popa se abría con la fuerza de las olas.
42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
Entonces el acuerdo de los soldados era que matasen a los presos; porque ninguno huyese escapándose nadando.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they who could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
Mas el centurión, queriendo salvar a Pablo estorbó este acuerdo; y mandó que los que pudiesen nadar, se echasen al agua los primeros, y saliesen a tierra:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they all escaped safe to land.
Y los demás, parte en tablas, parte en cosas de la nave: y así aconteció que todos se salvaron a tierra.
