Acts 14
1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spoke, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.
Y aconteció en Iconio, que entrados ambos en la sinagoga de los Judíos, hablaron de tal manera que creyó una grande multitud de Judíos, y asimismo de Griegos.
2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.
Mas los Judíos que fueron incrédulos, incitaron a los Gentiles, y corrompieron los ánimos de ellos contra los hermanos.
3 A long time therefore they abode speaking boldly in the Lord, who gave testimony to the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.
Con todo eso se detuvieron allí mucho tiempo, hablando animosamente en el Señor, el cual daba testimonio a la palabra de su gracia, dando que señales y milagros fuesen hechos por las manos de ellos.
4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.
Y la multitud de la ciudad fue dividida; y unos eran con los Judíos, y otros con los apóstoles.
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
Mas haciendo ímpetu los Judíos y los Gentiles, juntamente con sus príncipes, para afrentar los y apedrearlos,
6 Being aware of it, they fled to Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and to the surrounding region:
Entendiéndo lo ellos se huyeron a Listra y Derbe, ciudades de Licaonia, y por toda la tierra al derredor.
7 And there they preached the gospel.
Y allí predicaban el evangelio.
8 And there sat a certain man at Lystra, impotent in his feet, being a cripple from his mother’s womb, who had never walked:
Y un varón de Listra, impotente de los pies, estaba sentado, cojo desde el vientre de su madre, que jamás había andado.
9 The same heard Paul speak: who steadfastly beholding him, and perceiving that he had faith to be healed,
Este oyó hablar a Pablo: el cual, como puso los ojos en él, y vio que tenía fe para ser sano,
10 Said with a loud voice, Stand upright on thy feet. And he leaped and walked.
Dijo a gran voz: Levántate derecho sobre tus pies. Y él saltó, y anduvo.
11 And when the people saw what Paul had done, they lifted up their voices, saying in the speech of Lycaonia, The gods have come down to us in the likeness of men.
Y las gentes, visto lo que Pablo había hecho, alzaron la voz, diciendo en lengua Licaonia: Dioses en semejanza de hombres han descendido a nosotros.
12 And they called Barnabas, Jupiter; and Paul, Mercury, because he was the chief speaker.
Y a Barnabás llamaban Júpiter; y a Pablo, Mercurio, porque éste era el que llevaba la palabra.
13 Then the priest of Jupiter, who was before their city, brought oxen and garlands to the gates, and would have done sacrifice with the people.
Entonces el sacerdote de Júpiter que estaba delante de la ciudad de ellos, trayendo toros y guirnaldas delante de las puertas, quería con el pueblo ofrecer les sacrificio.
14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they tore their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out,
Lo cual como oyeron los apóstoles Barnabás y Pablo, rompiendo sus ropas, saltaron en medio de la multitud, dando voces,
15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach to you that ye should turn from these vanities to the living God, who made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them:
Y diciendo: Varones, ¿por qué hacéis esto? Nosotros también somos hombres semejantes a vosotros, que os anunciamos que de estas vanidades os convirtáis al Dios vivo, que hizo el cielo, y la tierra, y la mar, y todo lo que está en ellos.
16 Who in times past allowed all nations to walk in their own ways.
El cual en las edades pasadas ha dejado a todas las naciones andar en sus propios caminos:
17 Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
Aunque no se dejó a sí mismo sin testimonio, bien haciendo, dándonos lluvias del cielo, y tiempos fructíferos, llenando de mantenimiento, y de alegría nuestros corazones.
18 And with these sayings they scarce restrained the people, from doing sacrifice to them.
Y diciendo estas cosas, apenas contuvieron las multitudes a que no les sacrificasen.
19 And there came there certain Jews from Antioch and Iconium, who persuaded the people, and, having stoned Paul, drew him out of the city, supposing him to be dead.
Entonces sobrevinieron unos Judíos de Antioquía y de Iconio, que persuadieron a la multitud; y habiendo apedreado a Pablo, le sacaron arrastrando fuera de la ciudad, pensando que ya estaba muerto.
20 But, as the disciples stood around him, he rose, and came into the city: and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
Mas rodéandole los discípulos, se levantó, y se entró en la ciudad; y un día después se partió con Barnabás a Derbe.
21 And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and to Antioch,
Y como hubieron anunciado el evangelio a aquella ciudad, y enseñado a muchos, volviéronse a Listra, y a Iconio, y a Antioquía,
22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Confirmando los ánimos de los discípulos, exhortándolos que permaneciesen en la fe; y enseñándoles que es menester que por muchas tribulaciones entremos en el reino de Dios.
23 And when they had ordained for them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed.
Y habiéndoles ordenado ancianos en cada una de las iglesias, y habiendo orado con ayunos, los encomendaron al Señor en el cual habían creído.
24 And after they had passed throughout Pisidia, they came to Pamphylia.
Y pasando por Pisidia vinieron a Pamfilia.
25 And when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down into Attalia:
Y habiendo predicado la palabra en Perges, descendieron a Attalia.
26 And from there sailed to Antioch, where they had been commended from to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled.
Y de allí navegaron a Antioquía, de donde habían sido encomendados a la gracia de Dios para la obra que ya habían acabado.
27 And when they had come, and had gathered the church together, they reported all that God had done with them, and that he had opened the door of faith to the Gentiles.
Y como vinieron, y juntaron la iglesia, relataron cuán grandes cosas había hecho Dios por medio de ellos; y como había abierto a los Gentiles la puerta de la fe.
28 And there they abode a long time with the disciples.
Y se quedaron allí mucho tiempo con los discípulos.
