2 Samuel 8

1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

ಇದರ ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಮೇಲೆ ದಾಳಿಮಾಡಿ ಅವರನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರಿಂದ ಮೇತೆಗ್ ಅಮ್ಮಹವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಆಡಳಿತವನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾಧೀನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡನು.

2 And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, casting them down to the ground; even with two lines he measured to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And so the Moabites became David’s servants, and brought gifts.

ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ದಾವೀದನು ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರನ್ನು ಸಹ ಸೋಲಿಸಿದನು. ಸೆರೆಯಾಳುಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹಗ್ಗದಿಂದ ಅಳತೆ ಮಾಡಿಸಿ, ಎರಡು ಪಾಲು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ಒಂದು ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿ ಕಪ್ಪಕೊಡುವವರಾದರು.

3 David smote also Hadadezer, the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his border at the river Euphrates.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ದಾವೀದನು ಯೂಫ್ರೇಟೀಸ್ ನದಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತನ್ನ ಅಧಿಕಾರವನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸನಾದ ರೆಹೋಬನ ಮಗ ಹದದೆಜೆರನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದನು.

4 And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for an hundred chariots.

ದಾವೀದನು ಅವನಿಂದ ಸಾವಿರ ರಥಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಏಳು ಸಾವಿರ ರಾಹುತರನ್ನೂ, ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರ ಕಾಲಾಳುಗಳನ್ನೂ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು. ನೂರು ರಥಗಳಿಗೆ ಕುದುರೆಗಳನ್ನು ಉಳಿಸಿ, ಇತರ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಕಾಲಿನ ನರಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

5 And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.

ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸ ಹದದೆಜೆರನಿಗೆ ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡಲು ಬಂದಾಗ, ದಾವೀದನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಪ್ಪತ್ತೆರಡು ಸಾವಿರ ಜನರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟನು.

6 Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought gifts. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went.

ತರುವಾಯ ದಾವೀದನು ದಮಸ್ಕದ ಅರಾಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗಿ, ಕಪ್ಪವನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವವರಾದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜಯಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

7 And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

ದಾವೀದನು ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗಿದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಗುರಾಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ತಂದನು.

8 And from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took very much brass.

ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಾದ ಬೆಟಹದಿಂದಲೂ, ಬೇರೋತೈಯಿಂದಲೂ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಅತ್ಯಧಿಕವಾಗಿ ಕಂಚನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು.

9 When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadadezer,

ದಾವೀದನು ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೈನ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದನೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ಹಮಾತಿನ ಅರಸನಾದ ತೋವು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ,

10 Then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer, and smitten him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. And Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:

ಅವನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಕ್ಷೇಮಸಮಾಚಾರವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲೂ, ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಸೋಲಿಸಿದ್ದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಭಿನಂದಿಸಿ, ಹರಸುವಂತೆ, ತೋವು ತನ್ನ ಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಯೋರಾಮನನ್ನು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, ಬಂಗಾರ, ಕಂಚಿನ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗಳ ಸಹಿತವಾಗಿ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಹದದೆಜೆರನಿಗೆ ತೋವಿಯ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಗಳಿದ್ದವು.

11 Which also king David dedicated to the LORD, with the silver and gold that he had dedicated of all nations which he subdued;

ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ಚಿನ್ನ, ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ಮತ್ತು ಕಂಚಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು. ಜೊತೆಗೆ ಅವನು ಸೋತ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.

12 Of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

ಅಂದರೆ, ಅರಾಮ್ಯರು, ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯರು, ಅಮ್ಮೋನ್ಯರು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು, ಅಮಾಲೇಕ್ಯರು ಮತ್ತು ಚೋಬದ ಅರಸನಾಗಿರುವ ರೆಹೋಬನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹದದೆಜೆರನ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಪಡೆದ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಯನ್ನೂ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

13 And David made him a name when he returned from smiting of the Syrians in the valley of salt, being eighteen thousand men.

ದಾವೀದನು ಉಪ್ಪಿನ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹದಿನೆಂಟು ಸಾವಿರ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೊಡೆದು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದಾಗ ಪ್ರಖ್ಯಾತಿ ಹೊಂದಿದನು.

14 And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom he put garrisons, and all they of Edom became David’s servants. And the LORD preserved David wherever he went.

ಸಮಸ್ತ ಎದೋಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡುಗಳನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟನು. ಇದರಿಂದ, ಎದೋಮ್ಯರೆಲ್ಲರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾದರು. ದಾವೀದನು ಹೋದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಜಯಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

15 And David reigned over all Israel; and David executed judgment and justice to all his people.

ದಾವೀದನು ಸಮಸ್ತ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಆಳುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಜನರಿಗೂ ನೀತಿ ನ್ಯಾಯಗಳಿಂದ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು.

16 And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಸೈನ್ಯದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಅಹೀಲೂದನ ಮಗ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಆಸ್ಥಾನದ ಆಗುಹೋಗುಗಳನ್ನು ದಾಖಲಿಸುವವನಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

17 And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Seraiah was the scribe;

ಅಹೀಟೂಬನ ಮಗ ಚಾದೋಕನೂ ಅಬಿಯಾತರನ ಮಗ ಅಹೀಮೆಲೆಕನೂ ಯಾಜಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಸೆರಾಯನು ಕಾರ್ಯದರ್ಶಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

18 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over both the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief rulers.

ಯೆಹೋಯಾದಾವನ ಮಗ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಕೆರೇತ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಪೆಲೇತ್ಯರ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಪುತ್ರರು ಸಮಾಲೋಚಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು.
