2 Kings 7

1 Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

Y dijo Eliseo: Oíd palabra de Jehová: Así dijo Jehová: Mañana a estas horas el modio de flor de harina, un siclo: y dos modios de cebada, un siclo a la puerta de Samaria.

2 Then a lord on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if the LORD would make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thy eyes, but shalt not eat of it.

Y un príncipe, sobre cuya mano el rey se recostaba, respondió al varón de Dios, y dijo: ¿Si Jehová hiciese ahora ventanas en el cielo, sería esto así? Y él dijo: He aquí, tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.

3 And there were four leprous men at the entrance of the gate: and they said one to another, Why sit we here until we die?

Y había cuatro hombres leprosos a la entrada de la puerta, los cuales dijeron el uno al otro: ¿Para qué nos estamos aquí hasta que muramos?

4 If we say, We will enter into the city, then the famine is in the city, and we shall die there: and if we sit still here, we die also. Now therefore come, and let us fall to the army of the Syrians: if they save us alive, we shall live; and if they kill us, we shall but die.

Si hablaremos de entrar en la ciudad, por la hambre que hay en la ciudad moriremos en ella: y si nos quedamos aquí también moriremos. Veníd pues ahora, y pasémosnos al ejército de los Siros: si ellos nos dieren la vida, viviremos, y si nos dieren la muerte, moriremos.

5 And they rose in the twilight, to go to the camp of the Syrians: and when they had come to the edge of the camp of Syria, behold, there was no man there.

Y levantáronse en el principio de la noche, para irse al campo de los Siros; y llegando a las primeras estancias de los Siros, no había allí hombre.

6 For the Lord had made the army of the Syrians to hear a noise of chariots, and a noise of horses, even the noise of a great army: and they said one to another, Lo, the king of Israel hath hired against us the kings of the Hittites, and the kings of the Egyptians, to come upon us.

Porque el Señor había hecho que en el campo de los Siros se oyese estruendo de carros, sonido de caballos, y estruendo de grande ejército: y dijeron los unos a los otros: He aquí, el rey de Israel ha pagado contra nosotros a los reyes de los Jetteos, y a los reyes de los Egipcios, para que vengan contra nosotros.

7 Therefore they arose and fled in the twilight, and left their tents, and their horses, and their donkeys, even the camp as it was, and fled for their life.

Y así se habían levantado, y habían huido al principio de la noche, dejando sus tiendas, sus caballos, sus asnos, y el campo como se estaba, y habían huido por salvar las vidas.

8 And when these lepers came to the edge of the camp, they went into one tent, and ate and drank, and carried from there silver, and gold, and raiment, and went and hid it; and came again, and entered into another tent, and carried from there also, and went and hid it.

Y como los leprosos llegaron a las primeras estancias, entráronse en una tienda, y comieron y bebieron, y tomaron de allí plata y oro, y vestidos, y fueron, y escondiéronlo: y vueltos entraron en otra tienda, y de allí también tomaron, y fueron, y escondieron.

9 Then they said one to another, We do not well: this day is a day of good tidings, and we hold our peace: if we tarry till the morning light, some mischief will come upon us: now therefore come, that we may go and tell the king’s household.

Y dijeron el uno al otro: No hacemos bien: hoy es día de dar buena nueva, y nosotros callamos: y si esperamos hasta la luz de la mañana, seremos tomados en la maldad. Veníd pues ahora, entremos, y demos la nueva en casa del rey.

10 So they came and called to the porter of the city: and they told him, saying, We came to the camp of the Syrians, and, behold, there was no man there, neither voice of man, but horses tied, and donkeys tied, and the tents as they were.

Y vinieron, y dieron voces a las guardias de la puerta de la ciudad, y declaráronles, diciendo: Nosotros venímos al campo de los Siros, y, he aquí que no había allá hombre, ni voz de hombre, sino los caballos atados, y los asnos atados, y el campo como se estaba.

11 And he called the porters; and they told it to the king’s house within.

Y los porteros dieron voces, y declaráronlo dentro en el palacio del rey.

12 And the king arose in the night, and said to his servants, I will now show you what the Syrians have done to us. They know that we are hungry; therefore they have gone out of the camp to hide themselves in the field, saying, When they come out of the city, we shall take them alive, and get into the city.

Y levantóse el rey de noche, y dijo a sus siervos: Yo os declararé lo que nos han hecho los Siros: ellos saben que tenemos hambre, y hánse salido de las tiendas, y escondídose en el campo, diciendo: Cuando hubieren salido de la ciudad, los tomaremos vivos, y entraremos en la ciudad.

13 And one of his servants answered and said, Let some take, I pray thee, five of the horses that remain, which are left in the city, (behold, they are as all the multitude of Israel that are left in it: behold, I say, they are even as all the multitude of the Israelites that are consumed: ) and let us send and see.

Entonces respondió uno de sus siervos, y dijo: Tomen ahora cinco de los caballos que han quedado en la ciudad, porque ellos también han sido como toda la multitud de Israel, que ha quedado en ella: ellos también han sido como toda la multitud de Israel que ha perecido, y enviémoslos, y veremos.

14 They took therefore two chariot horses; and the king sent after the host of the Syrians, saying, Go and see.

Y tomaron dos caballos de un carro, y envió el rey tras el campo de los Siros, diciendo: Id, y ved.

15 And they went after them to Jordan: and, lo, all the way was full of garments and vessels, which the Syrians had cast away in their haste. And the messengers returned, and told the king.

Y ellos fueron, y siguiéronlos hasta el Jordán: y, he aquí, todo el camino estaba lleno de vestidos y de vasos, que los Siros habían echado con priesa. Y volvieron los mensajeros, e hiciéronlo saber al rey.

16 And the people went out, and plundered the tents of the Syrians. So a measure of fine flour was sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, according to the word of the LORD.

Entonces el pueblo salió, y saquearon el campo de los Siros; y fue un modio de flor de harina por un siclo, y dos modios de cebada por un siclo, conforme a la palabra de Jehová.

17 And the king appointed the lord on whose hand he leaned to have the charge of the gate: and the people trod upon him in the gate, and he died, as the man of God had said, who spoke when the king came down to him.

Y el rey puso a la puerta a aquel príncipe, sobre cuya mano él se había recostado, y el pueblo le atropelló a la entrada, y murió, conforme a lo que había dicho el varón de Dios, lo que habló cuando el rey descendió a él.

18 And it came to pass as the man of God had spoken to the king, saying, Two measures of barley for a shekel, and a measure of fine flour for a shekel, shall be to morrow about this time in the gate of Samaria:

Y aconteció de la manera que el varón de Dios había dicho al rey, diciéndole: Dos modios de cebada por un siclo, y el modio de flor de harina por un siclo: será mañana a estas horas a la puerta de Samaria.

19 And that lord answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if the LORD should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thy eyes, but shalt not eat of it.

A lo cual aquel príncipe había respondido al varón de Dios, diciendo: ¿Si Jehová hiciese ventanas en el cielo, hacerse ha eso? Y él dijo: He aquí, tú lo verás con tus ojos, mas no comerás de ello.

20 And so it happened to him: for the people trod upon him in the gate, and he died.

Y acontecióle así: porque el pueblo le atropelló en la entrada, y murió.
