2 Chronicles 33

1 Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:

১মনঃশির বয়স বারো বছর ছিল যখন তিনি রাজত্ব শুরু করেছিলেন এবং যিরূশালেমে পঞ্চান্ন বছর ধরে রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।

2 But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.

২তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা মন্দ তাই করতেন; সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সামনে থেকে যে সব জাতিকে তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিলেন তাদের মত জঘন্য কাজ করতেন।

3 For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.

৩তাঁর বাবা হিষ্কিয় পূজার যে সব উঁচু জায়গা ধ্বংস করেছিলেন তিনি সেগুলো আবার তৈরী করালেন। এছাড়া তিনি বাল দেবতার উদ্দেশ্যে কতগুলো বেদী ও আশেরা মূর্ত্তি তৈরী করলেন। তিনি আকাশের সব তারাগুলোর সামনে মাথা নত করে পূজা ও সেবা করলেন।

4 Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.

৪যে ঘরের বিষয় সদাপ্রভু বলেছিলেন, “আমার নাম চিরকাল যিরূশালেমে থাকবে,” সদাপ্রভুর সেই ঘরের মধ্যে তিনি কতগুলো বেদী তৈরী করলেন।

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

৫সদাপ্রভুর ঘরের দুইটি উঠানেই তিনি আকাশের সমস্ত তারাগুলোর উদ্দেশ্যে যজ্ঞবেদী তৈরী করলেন।

6 And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a medium, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

৬বিন্‌-হিন্নোম উপত্যকায় তাঁর নিজের ছেলেদের তিনি আগুনে পুড়িয়ে উৎসর্গ করলেন। যারা গণনা করে ভবিষ্যতের কথা বলে, মায়াবিদ্যা ও যাদুবিদ্যা ব্যবহার করে এবং মৃতদের সঙ্গে কথা বলে আর মন্দ আত্মাদের সঙ্গে যারা কথা বলে তিনি তাদের সঙ্গে পরামর্শ করতেন। সদাপ্রভুর চোখে অনেক মন্দ কাজ করে তিনি তাঁকে অসন্তুষ্ট করেছেন।

7 And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

৭তিনি নিজে যে মুর্ত্তিটি খোদাই করে তৈরী করেছিলেন সেটা নিয়ে ঈশ্বরের ঘরে রাখলেন। ঈশ্বর যে ঘর সম্পর্কে দায়ূদ ও তাঁর ছেলে শলোমনকে বলেছিলেন, “এই ঘর ও ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত গোষ্ঠীর মধ্য থেকে আমার বেছে নেওয়া এই যিরূশালেমে আমি চিরকালের জন্য আমার নামের বসবাসের জায়গা করব।

8 Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from the land which I have appointed for your fathers; provided they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.

৮আমি ইস্রায়েলীয়দের যে সব আদেশ দিয়েছি, অর্থাৎ মোশির মধ্য দিয়ে যে সব ব্যবস্থা, নিয়ম ও নির্দেশ দিয়েছি যদি কেবল তারা যত্নের সঙ্গে তা পালন করে তবে যে দেশ আমি তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের দিয়েছি সেখান থেকে তাদের আর দূর করে দেব না।”

9 So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

৯যিহূদা ও যিরূশালেমের লোকদের মনঃশি বিপথে নিয়ে গেলেন; তার ফলে সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েলীয়দের সামনে থেকে যে সব জাতিকে ধ্বংস করে দিয়েছিলেন তাদের চেয়েও তারা আরও খারাপ কাজ করত।

10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.

১০সদাপ্রভু মনঃশি ও তাঁর লোকদের কাছে কথা বলতেন কিন্তু তারা তাতে কান দিত না।

11 Therefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh in chains, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.

১১কাজেই সদাপ্রভু তাদের বিরুদ্ধে অশূর রাজার সেনাপতিদের নিয়ে আসলেন। তারা মনঃশিকে বন্দী করে তাঁর হাতকড়ি পরিয়ে ব্রোঞ্জের শিকল দিয়ে বেঁধে তাঁকে বাবিলে নিয়ে গেল।

12 And when he was in affliction, he besought the LORD his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers,

১২যখন মনঃশি বিপদে পড়লেন, তিনি তাঁর ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর কাছে দয়া ভিক্ষা করলেন এবং তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বরের সামনে নিজেকে খুবই নত করলেন।

13 And prayed to him: and he was entreated by him, and heard his supplication, and brought him again to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD he is God.

১৩এই ভাবে তিনি প্রার্থনা করলে সদাপ্রভুর তাঁর প্রার্থনা গ্রাহ্য করলেন এবং তাঁর মিনতি শুনে তিনি তাঁকে যিরূশালেমে ও তাঁর রাজ্যে ফিরিয়ে আনলেন। তখন মনঃশি জানতে পারলেন যে, সদাপ্রভুই ঈশ্বর।

14 Now after this he built a wall outside the city of David, on the west side of Gihon, in the valley, even to the entrance at the fish gate, and surrounded Ophel, and raised it up a very great height, and put captains of war in all the fortified cities of Judah.

১৪পরে তিনি দায়ূদ শহরের বাইরের দেয়ালটা উপত্যকার মধ্যেকার গীহোন ফোয়ারা থেকে ওফল পাহাড় ঘিরে পশ্চিম দিকে মাছ দরজায় ঢুকবার পথ পর্যন্ত আরও উঁচু করে তৈরী করে শক্তিশালী করলেন। যিহূদার দেয়াল ঘেরা সমস্ত শহরগুলোতে তিনি সেনাপতিদের নিযুক্ত করলেন।

15 And he took away the foreign gods, and the idol out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD, and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

১৫তিনি সদাপ্রভুর ঘর থেকে বিজাতীয় দেবতাদের মুর্ত্তিগুলোকে নিয়ে বাইরে ফেলে দিলেন। তিনি যিরূশালেমে এবং সদাপ্রভুর ঘরের পাহাড়ের উপরে যে সব বেদী তৈরী করেছিলেন সেগুলোও নিয়ে তিনি শহরের বাইরে ফেলে দিলেন।

16 And he repaired the altar of the LORD, and sacrificed on it peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to serve the LORD God of Israel.

১৬পরে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর বেদী পুনরায় ঠিক করলেন এবং তার উপরে মঙ্গলের জন্য বলি ও কৃতজ্ঞতা উৎসর্গের অনুষ্ঠান করলেন। তিনি যিহূদার লোকদের নির্দেশ দিলেন যেন তারা ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর সেবা করে।

17 Nevertheless the people sacrificed still in the high places, yet to the LORD their God only.

১৭অবশ্য লোকেরা তখনও পূজার উঁচু জায়গা গুলোতে যজ্ঞ করত, কিন্তু তারা শুধুমাত্র তাদের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুরই উদ্দেশ্যেই করত।

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and his prayer to his God, and the words of the seers that spoke to him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel.

১৮মনঃশির আরো অন্যান্য সব কাজের কথা, ঈশ্বরের কাছে তাঁর প্রার্থনা এবং ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর সদাপ্রভুর নামে দর্শকেরা তাঁকে যে কথা বলেছিল, দেখো, তা সবই “ইস্রায়েলের রাজাদের ইতিহাস” নামে বইটিতে লেখা আছে।

19 His prayer also, and how God was entreated by him, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he built high places, and set up groves and graven images, before he was humbled: behold, they are written among the sayings of the seers.

১৯তাঁর প্রার্থনার কথা, আর কেমন করে তাঁর মিনতি ঈশ্বরে গ্রাহ্য করলেন তার কথা, তাঁর সব পাপ ও অবিশ্বস্ততার কথা এবং তিনি নিজেকে ঈশ্বরের সামনে নত করবার আগে পূজার যে সব উঁচু জায়গা তৈরী করেছিলেন আর আশেরা মূর্ত্তি ও খোদাই করা প্রতিমা স্থাপন করেছিলেন সেই সব কথা দর্শকদের বইয়ে লেখা আছে।

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.

২০পরে মনঃশি তাঁর পূর্বপুরুষদের সঙ্গে ঘুমিয়ে পড়েন। এবং তাঁর নিজের বাড়ীতেই তাঁকে লোকেরা কবর দিল। তাঁর জায়গায় তাঁর ছেলে আমোন রাজা হলেন।

21 Amon was two and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned two years in Jerusalem.

২১আমোনের বয়স বাইশ বছর ছিল যখন তিনি রাজত্ব শুরু করেছিলেন এবং যিরূশালেমে দুইবছর কাল রাজত্ব করেছিলেন।

22 But he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as did Manasseh his father: for Amon sacrificed to all the carved images which Manasseh his father had made, and served them;

২২তিনি তাঁর বাবা মনঃশির মতই তিনি সদাপ্রভুর চোখে যা কিছু মন্দ তাই করতেন। মনঃশি যে সব প্রতিমা খোদাই করে তৈরী করেছিলেন আমোন তাদের পূজা করতেন ও তাদের কাছে পশু উৎসর্গ করতেন।

23 And humbled not himself before the LORD, as Manasseh his father had humbled himself; but Amon trespassed more and more.

২৩আর তিনি তাঁর বাবা মনঃশির মত সদাপ্রভুর সামনে নিজেকে নত করেন নি; পরিবর্তে, আমোন পাপ করতেই থাকলেন।

24 And his servants conspired against him, and slew him in his own house.

২৪আমোনের দাসেরা তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করে তাঁর নিজের বাড়ীতেই তাঁকে খুন করল।

25 But the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

২৫কিন্তু যারা রাজা আমোনের বিরুদ্ধে ষড়যন্ত্র করেছিল দেশের লোকেরা তাদের সবাইকে মেরে ফেলল এবং তারা তাঁর ছেলে যোশিয়কে তাঁর জায়গায় রাজা করল।
