2 Chronicles 20
1 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them others besides the Ammonites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
౧ఇది జరిగిన తరువాత, మోయాబీయులు, అమ్మోనీయులు, మెయోనీయుల్లో కొంతమంది దండెత్తి యెహోషాపాతు మీదికి వచ్చారు.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side of Syria; and, behold, they are in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
౨అంతలో కొంతమంది వచ్చి “మృత సముద్రం అవతల ఉండే అరాము వైపు నుంచి ఒక గొప్ప సైన్యం నీ మీదికి వస్తూ ఉంది. గమనించండి. వారు హససోన్‌ తామారు అనే ఏన్గెదీలో ఉన్నారు” అని యెహోషాపాతుకు తెలియచేశారు.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
౩అందుకు యెహోషాపాతు భయపడి యెహోవా దగ్గర విచారించడానికి మనస్సు పెట్టి, యూదా అంతటా ఉపవాసం ఆచరించాలని చాటించాడు.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even from all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
౪యూదావారు యెహోవా సహాయాన్ని అడగడానికి సమావేశమయ్యారు. యెహోవా దగ్గర విచారించడానికి యూదా పట్టణాలన్నిటిలో నుంచి ప్రజలు వచ్చారు.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
౫యెహోషాపాతు యెహోవా మందిరంలో కొత్త ఆవరణం ముందు సమాజంగా కూడిన యూదా యెరూషలేము ప్రజల మధ్య నిలబడి,
6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest thou not over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thy hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
౬“మా పూర్వీకుల దేవా, యెహోవా, పరలోకంలో దేవుడివి నీవే గదా! అన్ని రాజ్యాలనూ పాలించే బలం గలవాడవు, పరాక్రమం గలవాడవు, నిన్నెదిరించడం ఎవరి తరమూ కాదు.
7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and give it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for ever?
౭నీ ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ఎదుటి నుంచి ఈ దేశవాసులను తోలివేసి, నీ స్నేహితుడైన అబ్రాహాము సంతతికి దీన్ని శాశ్వతంగా ఇచ్చిన మా దేవుడవు నువ్వే.”
8 And they dwelt in it, and have built thee a sanctuary in it for thy name, saying,
౮“వారు అందులో నివాసం చేసి, మాకేదైనా విపత్తు జరిగితే, అంటే యుద్ధపు తీర్పు గానీ రోగం గానీ కరువుగానీ, మా మీదికి వస్తే మేము ఈ మందిరం ముందు నిలబడి మా బాధలో నీకు మొర్రపెడితే
9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house, ) and cry to thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
౯నీవు ఆలకించి మమ్మల్ని కాపాడతావని, ఇక్కడ నీ పేరు కోసం ఈ పరిశుద్ధ స్థలాన్ని కట్టించారు. నీ పేరు ఈ మందిరానికి ఉంది గదా.
10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came from the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
౧౦ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఐగుప్తునుంచి వచ్చినప్పుడు నీవు వారిని అమ్మోనీయులతోనూ మోయాబీయులతోనూ శేయీరు కొండ ప్రాంతం వారితోనూ యుద్ధం చేయనివ్వలేదు కాబట్టి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు వారిని నాశనం చేయకుండా వారి దగ్గర నుంచి వెళ్ళిపోయారు.
11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
౧౧మేము స్వతంత్రించుకోవాలని నీవు మాకిచ్చిన నీ స్వాస్థ్యంలో నుంచి మమ్మల్ని తోలివేయడానికి వారు బయలుదేరి వచ్చి మాకు ఎలాంటి ప్రత్యుపకారం చేస్తున్నారో చూడండి.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.
౧౨మా దేవా, నీవు వారికి తీర్పు తీర్చవా? మా మీదికి వచ్చే ఈ గొప్ప సైన్యంతో యుద్ధం చేయడానికి మాకు శక్తి చాలదు. ఏమి చేయాలో మాకు తెలియదు. నువ్వే మా దిక్కు” అని ప్రార్థన చేశారు.
13 And all Judah stood before the LORD, with their little ones, their wives, and their children.
౧౩యూదావారంతా తమ పసికందులతో భార్యలతో పిల్లలతో యెహోవా సన్నిధిలో నిలబడ్డారు.
14 Then upon Jahaziel the son of Zechariah, the son of Benaiah, the son of Jeiel, the son of Mattaniah, a Levite of the sons of Asaph, came the Spirit of the LORD in the midst of the congregation;
౧౪అప్పుడు ఆసాపు సంతతివాడూ లేవీయుడు అయిన యహజీయేలు, సమాజంలో ఉన్నాడు. అతని తండ్రి జెకర్యా, జెకర్యా తండ్రి బెనాయా, బెనాయా తండ్రి యెహీయేలు, యెహీయేలు తండ్రి మత్తన్యా. యెహోవా ఆత్మ యహజీయేలు మీదికి రాగా అతడు ఇలా ప్రకటించాడు,
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD to you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.
౧౫“యూదాప్రజలారా, యెరూషలేము నివాసులారా, యెహోషాపాతు రాజా, మీరంతా వినండి. యెహోవా చెప్పేదేమిటంటే, ఈ గొప్ప సైన్యానికి మీరు భయపడవద్దు, నిస్పృహ చెందవద్దు. ఈ యుద్ధం మీది కాదు, దేవునిదే.
16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
౧౬రేపు మీరు వారిమీదికి వెళ్ళాలి. వారు జీజు అనే కనుమ గుండా వస్తారు. మీరు యెరూవేలు అరణ్యం ముందున్న వాగు చివర, వారిని కనుగొంటారు.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
౧౭ఈ యుద్ధంలో మీరు పోరాడవలసిన అవసరం లేదు. యూదా ప్రజలారా, యెరూషలేము వాసులారా, మీరు మీ స్థానాల్లో అలాగే నిలబడండి. మీతో ఉన్న యెహోవా అందించే రక్షణను మీరు చూస్తారు. భయపడవద్దు, నిస్పృహ చెందవద్దు. రేపు మీరు వారి మీదికి వెళ్ళాలి. యెహోవా మీతో ఉంటాడు.”
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
౧౮అప్పుడు యెహోషాపాతు సాష్టాంగ నమస్కారం చేశాడు. యూదావారు, యెరూషలేము నివాసులు యెహోవా సన్నిధిలో సాగిలపడి నమస్కరించారు.
19 And the Levites, of the children of the Kohathites, and of the children of the Korhites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel with a loud voice on high.
౧౯కహాతీయుల సంతతివారు, కోరహీయుల సంతతివారైన లేవీయులు నిలబడి బిగ్గరగా ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాను స్తుతించారు.
20 And they rose early in the morning, and went forth into the wilderness of Tekoa: and as they went forth, Jehoshaphat stood and said, Hear me, O Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem; Believe in the LORD your God, so shall ye be established; believe his prophets, so shall ye prosper.
౨౦వారు ఉదయాన్నే లేచి తెకోవ అరణ్యానికి వెళ్ళారు. వారు వెళ్తూ ఉంటే యెహోషాపాతు నిలబడి “యూదా, యెరూషలేములో నివసించే మీరంతా నా మాట వినండి! మీ దేవుడైన యెహోవాను నమ్మండి, అప్పుడు మీకు సహాయం దొరుకుతుంది. ఆయన ప్రవక్తలను నమ్మండి, అప్పుడు మీకు విజయం కలుగుతుంది” అని చెప్పాడు.
21 And when he had consulted with the people, he appointed singers to the LORD, and that should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army, and to say, Praise the LORD; for his mercy endureth for ever.
౨౧అతడు ప్రజలతో చర్చించిన తరువాత యెహోవాను స్తుతించడానికి గాయకులను ఏర్పరచి, వారు సైన్యం ముందు నడుస్తూ “యెహోవా కృప ఎల్లప్పుడూ ఉంటుంది. ఆయనకు కృతజ్ఞత తెలియచేయండి.” అని పలకాలని నియమించాడు.
22 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, who were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
౨౨వారు పాడడం, స్తుతించడం మొదలు పెట్టినప్పుడు, యూదావారి మీదికి వచ్చిన అమ్మోనీయులమీదా మోయాబీయుల మీదా శేయీరు కొండ ప్రాంతం వారి మీదా యెహోవా ఆకస్మిక దాడి చేసే మనుషులను పెట్టాడు. శత్రువులు ఓడిపోయారు.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
౨౩అమ్మోనీయులు, మోయాబీయులు కలిసి శేయీరు కొండప్రాంతం వారిని పూర్తిగా చంపి వేసి నాశనం చేద్దామని పొంచి ఉండి, వారిమీద పడ్డారు. వారు శేయీరు నివాసులను తుదముట్టించిన తరువాత ఒకరినొకరు చంపుకోవడం మొదలుపెట్టారు.
24 And when Judah came toward the watch tower in the wilderness, they looked to the multitude, and, behold, they were dead bodies fallen to the earth, and none escaped.
౨౪యూదావారు అరణ్యం దగ్గరికి వచ్చి, సైన్యం వైపు చూస్తే, వారంతా నేలమీద పడి ఉన్నారు. ఏ ఒక్కడూ తప్పించుకోలేదు.
25 And when Jehoshaphat and his people came to take away the spoil of them, they found among them in abundance both riches with the dead bodies, and precious jewels, which they stripped off for themselves, more than they could carry away: and they were three days in gathering the spoil, it was so much.
౨౫యెహోషాపాతూ, అతని ప్రజలూ వారి వస్తువులను తీసుకోడానికి వస్తే, ఆ శవాల మీద విస్తారమైన ధనం, ప్రశస్తమైన నగలు దొరికాయి. తాము మోయలేనంతగా వారు సొమ్ము దోచుకున్నారు. కొల్లసొమ్ము ఎంత ఎక్కువగా ఉందంటే, వాటిని మోసుకు పోవడానికి వారికి మూడు రోజులు పట్టింది.
26 And on the fourth day they assembled themselves in the valley of Berachah; for there they blessed the LORD: therefore the name of the same place hath been called, The valley of Berachah, to this day.
౨౬నాలుగవ రోజు బెరాకా లోయలో వారు సమావేశమయ్యారు. అక్కడ వారు యెహోవాను స్తుతించారు. అందుకే ఇప్పటి వరకూ ఆ స్థలానికి “బెరాకా లోయ” అని పేరు.
27 Then they returned, every man of Judah and Jerusalem, and Jehoshaphat in the front of them, to go again to Jerusalem with joy; for the LORD had made them to rejoice over their enemies.
౨౭ఆ తరువాత యూదావారూ యెరూషలేమువారూ వారికి ముందు యెహోషాపాతు, ఆనందంగా యెరూషలేము తిరిగి వెళ్లాలని బయలు దేరారు. ఎందుకంటే యెహోవా వారి శత్రువుల మీద వారికి జయం అనుగ్రహించాడు.
28 And they came to Jerusalem with psalteries and harps and trumpets to the house of the LORD.
౨౮వారు యెరూషలేములో ఉన్న యెహోవా మందిరానికి తీగె వాయిద్యాలను సితారాలను వాయిస్తూ బాకాలు ఊదుతూ వచ్చారు.
29 And the fear of God was on all the kingdoms of those countries, when they had heard that the LORD fought against the enemies of Israel.
౨౯ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల శత్రువులతో యెహోవా యుద్ధం చేసాడని అన్ని రాజ్యాల వారు విని, దేవుని భయంతో వణికిపోయారు.
30 So the realm of Jehoshaphat was quiet: for his God gave him rest on all sides.
౩౦ఈ విధంగా యెహోషాపాతు రాజ్యం ప్రశాంతంగా ఉంది. ఎందుకంటే అతని దేవుడు, అతని చుట్టూ నెమ్మది ఇచ్చాడు.
31 And Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah: he was thirty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and five years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.
౩౧యెహోషాపాతు యూదారాజ్యాన్ని పరిపాలించాడు. అతడు పరిపాలించడం మొదలు పెట్టినపుడు 35 ఏళ్ల వాడై యెరూషలేములో 25 ఏళ్ళు పాలించాడు. అతని తల్లి షిల్హీ కుమార్తె, ఆమె పేరు అజూబా.
32 And he walked in the way of Asa his father, and departed not from it, doing that which was right in the sight of the LORD.
౩౨అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి యథార్ధంగా ప్రవర్తించి తన తండ్రి ఆసా మార్గంలో నడుస్తూ దానిలోనుంచి తొలగిపోకుండా ఉన్నాడు.
33 But the high places were not taken away: for as yet the people had not prepared their hearts to the God of their fathers.
౩౩అయితే అప్పటికి ఇంకా ప్రజలు తమ పూర్వీకుల దేవుణ్ణి అనుసరించడానికి తమ హృదయాల్లో నిశ్చయం చేసుకోలేదు, అతడు అన్య దైవ మందిరాలను తీసివేయలేదు.
34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, first and last, behold, they are written in the book of Jehu the son of Hanani, who is mentioned in the book of the kings of Israel.
౩౪యెహోషాపాతు చేసిన పనులన్నిటిని గురించి హనానీ కొడుకు యెహూ రచించిన గ్రంథంలో రాసి వుంది. ఈ యెహూ పేరు, ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల గ్రంథంలో ఉంది.
35 And after this Jehoshaphat king of Judah joined himself with Ahaziah king of Israel, who did very wickedly:
౩౫ఇది జరిగిన తరువాత, యూదా రాజు యెహోషాపాతు, చాలా దుర్మార్గంగా ప్రవర్తించిన ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు అహజ్యాతో స్నేహం చేశాడు.
36 And he joined himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish: and they made the ships in Eziongeber.
౩౬తర్షీషుకు వెళ్ళగలిగిన ఓడలను చేయించాలని యెహోషాపాతు అతనితో స్నేహం చేశాడు. వారు ఎసోన్గెబెరులో ఆ ఓడలను చేయించారు.
37 Then Eliezer the son of Dodavah of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, saying, Because thou hast joined thyself with Ahaziah, the LORD hath broken thy works. And the ships were broken, that they were not able to go to Tarshish.
౩౭అప్పుడు మారేషా వాడు దోదావాహు కొడుకు, ఎలీయెజెరు “నీవు అహజ్యాతో స్నేహం చేసుకున్నావు కాబట్టి యెహోవా నీ ప్రయత్నాలను నాశనం చేశాడు” అని యెహోషాపాతుకు వ్యతిరేకంగా ప్రవచనం చెప్పాడు. ఆ ఓడలు తర్షీషుకు వెళ్లలేక బద్దలైపోయాయి.
