2 Chronicles 18

1 Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance, and allied himself with Ahab by marriage.

Y tuvo Josafat riquezas y gloria en abundancia: y juntó parentesco con Acab.

2 And after certain years he went down to Ahab to Samaria. And Ahab killed sheep and oxen for him in abundance, and for the people that he had with him, and persuaded him to go up with him to Ramothgilead.

Y después de algunos años, descendió a Acab a Samaria, y mató Acab muchas ovejas y bueyes para él, y para el pueblo que había venido con él; y persuadióle que fuese con él a Ramot de Galaad.

3 And Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, Wilt thou go with me to Ramothgilead? And he answered him, I am as thou art, and my people as thy people; and we will be with thee in the war.

Y dijo Acab rey de Israel a Josafat rey de Judá: ¿Quieres venir conmigo a Ramot de Galaad? Y él le respondió: Como yo, así también tú: y como tu pueblo, así también mi pueblo: contigo a la guerra.

4 And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Enquire, I pray thee, at the word of the LORD to day.

Y dijo más Josafat al rey de Israel: Ruégote que consultes hoy la palabra de Jehová.

5 Therefore the king of Israel gathered together of prophets four hundred men, and said to them, Shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And they said, Go up; for God will deliver it into the king’s hand.

Entonces el rey de Israel juntó cuatrocientos varones profetas, y díjoles: ¿Iremos a la guerra contra Ramot de Galaad, o reposarnos hemos? Y ellos dijeron: Sube; que Dios los entregará en mano del rey.

6 But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may enquire of him?

Y Josafat dijo: ¿Hay aun aquí algún profeta de Jehová, para que por él preguntemos?

7 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he never prophesieth good to me, but always evil: the same is Micaiah the son of Imla. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

Y el rey de Israel respondió a Josafat: Aun hay aquí un hombre por el cual podemos preguntar a Jehová: mas yo le aborrezco, porque nunca me profetiza cosa buena, sino toda su vida por mal: este es Miqueas, hijo de Jemla. Y respondió Josafat: No hable el rey así.

8 And the king of Israel called for one of his officers, and said, Bring quickly Micaiah the son of Imla.

Entonces el rey de Israel llamó un eunuco, y díjole: Haz venir luego a Miqueas, hijo de Jemla.

9 And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat king of Judah sat each of them on his throne, clothed in their robes, and they sat in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets prophesied before them.

Y el rey de Israel y Josafat rey de Judá estaban sentados, cada uno en su trono, vestidos de sus ropas, y estaban asentados en la era a la entrada de la puerta de Samaria, y todos los profetas profetizaban delante de ellos.

10 And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah had made him horns of iron, and said, Thus saith the LORD, With these thou shalt push Syria until they shall be consumed.

Empero Sedequías, hijo de Canaana, se había hecho unos cuernos de hierro, y decía: Jehová ha dicho así: Con estos acornearás a los Siros hasta destruirlos del todo.

11 And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramothgilead, and prosper: for the LORD shall deliver it into the hand of the king.

De esta manera profetizaban también todos los profetas, diciendo: Sube a Ramot de Galaad, y sé prosperado: porque Jehová la entregará en mano del rey.

12 And the messenger that went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one consent; let thy word therefore, I pray thee, be like one of theirs, and speak thou good.

Y el mensajero que había ido a llamar a Miqueas le habló, diciendo: He aquí, las palabras de los profetas a una boca anuncian al rey bienes: yo te ruego ahora que tu palabra sea como la de uno de ellos, que hables bien.

13 And Micaiah said, As the LORD liveth, even what my God saith, that will I speak.

Y dijo Miqueas: Vive Jehová, que lo que mi Dios me dijere, eso hablaré. Y vino al rey.

14 And when he had come to the king, the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to Ramothgilead to battle, or shall I forbear? And he said, Go ye up, and prosper, and they shall be delivered into your hand.

Y el rey le dijo: Miqueas, ¿iremos a pelear contra Ramot de Galaad, o dejarlo hemos? Y él respondió: Subíd; que seréis prosperados; que serán entregados en vuestras manos.

15 And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure thee that thou say nothing but the truth to me in the name of the LORD?

Y el rey le dijo: ¿Hasta cuántas veces te conjuraré por el nombre de Jehová, que no me hables sino la verdad?

16 Then he said, I saw all Israel scattered upon the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd: and the LORD said, These have no master; let them return therefore every man to his house in peace.

Entonces él dijo: Yo he visto a todo Israel derramado por los montes, como ovejas sin pastor: y dijo Jehová: Estos no tienen señor: vuélvase cada uno en paz a su casa.

17 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell thee that he would not prophesy good to me, but evil?

Y el rey de Israel dijo a Josafat: ¿No te había yo dicho, que este no me profetizará bien, sino mal?

18 Again he said, Therefore hear the word of the LORD; I saw the LORD sitting upon his throne, and all the host of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.

Entonces él dijo: Oíd pues palabra de Jehová: Yo he visto a Jehová asentado en su trono, y todo el ejército de los cielos estaba a su mano derecha y a su mano izquierda.

19 And the LORD said, Who shall entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramothgilead? And one spoke saying after this manner, and another saying after that manner.

Y Jehová dijo: ¿Quién inducirá a Acab rey de Israel, para que suba, y caiga en Ramot de Galaad? Y este decía así, y el otro decía así.

20 Then there came out a spirit, and stood before the LORD, and said, I will entice him. And the LORD said to him, How?

Mas salió un espíritu, que se puso delante de Jehová, y dijo: Yo le induciré. Y Jehová le dijo: ¿De qué manera?

21 And he said, I will go out, and be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets. And the LORD said, Thou shalt entice him, and thou shalt also prevail: go out, and do even so.

Y él dijo: Saldré; y seré espíritu de mentira en la boca de todos sus profetas. Y Jehová dijo: Induce, y también prevalece: sal, y házlo así.

22 Now therefore, behold, the LORD hath put a lying spirit in the mouth of these thy prophets, and the LORD hath spoken evil against thee.

Y, he aquí, ahora Jehová ha puesto espíritu de mentira en la boca de estos tus profetas: mas Jehová ha hablado contra ti mal.

23 Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and smote Micaiah upon the cheek, and said, Which way went the Spirit of the LORD from me to speak to thee?

Entonces Sedequías, hijo de Canaana, se llegó a él, e hirió a Miqueas en la mejilla, y dijo: ¿Por qué camino se apartó de mí el Espíritu de Jehová, para hablarte a ti?

24 And Micaiah said, Behold, thou shalt see on that day when thou shalt go into an inner chamber to hide thyself.

Y Miqueas respondió: He aquí, tú lo verás el mismo día cuando te entrarás de cámara en cámara para esconderte.

25 Then the king of Israel said, Take ye Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;

Entonces el rey de Israel dijo: Tomád a Miqueas, y volvédle a Amón el gobernador de la ciudad, y a Joas, hijo del rey;

26 And say, Thus saith the king, Put this man in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.

Y diréis: El rey ha dicho así: Ponéd a este en la cárcel, hacédle comer pan de aflicción, y agua de angustia, hasta que yo vuelva en paz.

27 And Micaiah said, If thou shalt certainly return in peace, then hath not the LORD spoken by me. And he said, Hearken, all ye people.

Y Miqueas dijo: Si volviendo volvieres en paz, Jehová no ha hablado por mí. Y dijo también: Oíd esto todos los pueblos.

28 So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramothgilead.

Y el rey de Israel subió, y Josafat rey de Judá, a Ramot de Galaad.

29 And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself, and will go to the battle; but put thou on thy robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went to the battle.

Y dijo el rey de Israel a Josafat: Yo me disfrazaré para entrar en la batalla: mas tú vístete tus vestidos. Y disfrazóse el rey de Israel, y entró en la batalla.

30 Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of the chariots that were with him, saying, Fight ye not with small or great, except only with the king of Israel.

El rey de Siria había mandado a los capitanes de los carros que tenía consigo, diciendo: No peleéis con chico ni con grande, sino con solo el rey de Israel.

31 And it came to pass, when the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, It is the king of Israel. Therefore they surrounded him to fight: but Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.

Y como los capitanes de los carros vieron a Josafat, dijeron: Este es el rey de Israel. Y cercáronle para pelear: mas Josafat clamó, y ayudóle Jehová; y apartólos Dios de él.

32 For it came to pass, that, when the captains of the chariots perceived that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back again from pursuing him.

Y viendo los capitanes de los carros que no era el rey de Israel, apartáronse de él.

33 And a certain man drew a bow at a venture, and smote the king of Israel between the joints of the armour: therefore he said to his chariot man, Turn thy hand, that thou mayest carry me out of the host; for I am wounded.

Mas flechando uno el arco en su enterez, hirió al rey de Israel entre las junturas y el coselete. Entonces él dijo al carretero: Vuelve tu mano, y sácame del campo, porque estoy enfermo.

34 And the battle increased that day: yet the king of Israel held himself in his chariot against the Syrians until the evening: and about the time of the sun setting he died.

Y creció la batalla aquel día: mas el rey de Israel estuvo en pie en el carro enfrente de los Siros hasta la tarde: y murió a puesta del sol.
