1 Samuel 19
1 And Saul spoke to Jonathan his son, and to all his servants, that they should kill David.
১পরে শৌল তাঁর ছেলে যোনাথনকে ও সমস্ত কর্মচারীদের বললেন যেন তারা দায়ূদকে মেরে ফেলে। কিন্তু দায়ূদের প্রতি শৌলের ছেলে যোনাথনের খুব টান ছিল।
2 But Jonathan Saul’s son delighted much in David: and Jonathan told David, saying, Saul my father seeketh to kill thee: now therefore, I pray thee, take heed to thyself until the morning, and abide in a secret place, and hide thyself:
২যোনাথন দায়ূদকে বললেন, “আমার বাবা শৌল তোমাকে মেরে ফেলবার চেষ্টা করছেন। শোন, তুমি কাল সকালে সাবধানে থেকো। একটা গোপন জায়গায় গিয়ে লুকিয়ে থেকো।
3 And I will go out and stand beside my father in the field where thou art, and I will talk with my father of thee; and what I see, that I will tell thee.
৩তুমি যে মাঠে থাকবে, আমি আমার বাবাকে নিয়ে সেখানে গিয়ে দাঁড়াব। আর যদি তেমন কিছু জানতে পারি তা তোমাকে জানাব।”
4 And Jonathan spoke good of David to Saul his father, and said to him, Let not the king sin against his servant, against David; because he hath not sinned against thee, and because his works have been toward thee very good:
৪যোনাথন তাঁর বাবা শৌলের কাছে দায়ূদের সুনাম করে বললেন, “মহারাজ, আপনার দাস দায়ূদের বিরুদ্ধে আপনি কোন পাপ করবেন না। সে তো আপনার বিরুদ্ধে কোন পাপ করে নি, বরং সে যা করেছে তাতে আপনার অনেক উপকার হয়েছে।
5 For he put his life in his hand, and slew the Philistine, and the LORD wrought a great salvation for all Israel: thou sawest it, and didst rejoice: why then wilt thou sin against innocent blood, to slay David without a cause?
৫সে তার প্রাণের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে সেই পলেষ্টীয়কে মেরে ফেলেছে, আর সদাপ্রভু সমস্ত ইস্রায়েলকে মহাজয় দান করেছেন; আপনি তো তা দেখে খুশী হয়েছিলেন। তবে এখন আপনি অকারণে দায়ূদকে মেরে ফেলে কেন একজন নির্দোষ লোকের রক্তপাত করে তার বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করবেন?”
6 And Saul hearkened to the voice of Jonathan: and Saul swore, As the LORD liveth, he shall not be slain.
৬তখন শৌল যোনাথনের কথা শুনে শপথ করে বললেন, “জীবন্ত সদাপ্রভুর দিব্য তাকে মেরে ফেলা হবে না।”
7 And Jonathan called David, and Jonathan showed him all those things. And Jonathan brought David to Saul, and he was in his presence, as in times past.
৭পরে যোনাথন দায়ূদকে ডেকে তাঁকে সমস্ত কথা জানালেন। তিনি তাঁকে শৌলের কাছে নিয়ে গেলেন এবং দায়ূদ আগের মতই শৌলের কাছে থাকলেন।
8 And there was war again: and David went out, and fought with the Philistines, and slew them with a great slaughter; and they fled from him.
৮তারপর আবার যখন যুদ্ধ শুরু হয়ে গেল তখন দায়ূদ বের হয়ে পলেষ্টীয়দের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করতে লাগলেন। তিনি তাদের অনেক লোককে মেরে ফেললেন এবং তারা তাঁর সামনে থেকে পালিয়ে গেল।
9 And the evil spirit from the LORD was upon Saul, as he sat in his house with his javelin in his hand: and David played with his hand.
৯পরে সদাপ্রভুর কাছ থেকে একটা মন্দ আত্মা শৌলের উপর আসল। শৌল তখন তাঁর ঘরে বসে ছিলেন এবং তাঁর হাতে একটা বর্শা ছিল, আর দায়ূদ বীণা বাজাচ্ছিলেন।
10 And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away from Saul’s presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night.
১০এমন দিন শৌল বর্শা দিয়ে দায়ূদকে দেয়ালে গেঁথে ফেলবার চেষ্টা করলেন, কিন্তু তিনি শৌলের সামনে থেকে সরে গেলেন বলে বর্শাটা দেয়ালে ঢুকে গেল এবং সেই রাতে দায়ূদ পালিয়ে রক্ষা পেলেন।
11 Saul also sent messengers to David’s house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal David’s wife told him, saying, If thou dost not save thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain.
১১দায়ূদের উপর নজর রাখবার জন্য শৌল তাঁর বাড়িতে লোক পাঠিয়ে দিলেন যাতে পরের দিন সকালে তাঁকে মেরে ফেলা যায়। কিন্তু দায়ূদের স্ত্রী মীখল তাঁকে সব কিছু জানিয়ে বললেন, “আজ রাতে তুমি যদি প্রাণ নিয়ে না পালাও তবে কালই তুমি মারা পড়বে।”
12 So Michal let David down through a window: and he went, and fled, and escaped.
১২আর মীখল দায়ূদকে জানলা দিয়ে নীচে নামিয়ে দিলেন আর তিনি পালিয়ে গিয়ে রক্ষা পেলেন।
13 And Michal took an image, and laid it in the bed, and put a pillow of goats’ hair for his head, and covered it with a cloth.
১৩মীখল তখন পারিবারিক দেবমূর্তিগুলো নিয়ে বিছানায় রাখলেন এবং বিছানার মাথার দিকে দিলেন ছাগলের লোমের একটা বালিশ; তারপর সেগুলো কাপড় দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।
14 And when Saul sent messengers to take David, she said, He is sick.
১৪দায়ূদকে ধরবার জন্য শৌল লোক পাঠালে মীখল বললেন, “উনি অসুস্থ।”
15 And Saul sent the messengers again to see David, saying, Bring him to me in the bed, that I may slay him.
১৫এই খবর শুনে শৌল দায়ূদকে দেখবার জন্য সেই লোকদেরই আবার পাঠালেন এবং বলে দিলেন, “দায়ূদকে খাট শুদ্ধই নিয়ে এস; আমি তাকে মেরে ফেলব।”
16 And when the messengers had come in, behold, there was an image in the bed, with a pillow of goats’ hair for his head.
১৬লোকগুলো ঘরে ঢুকে বিছানার উপর সেই দেবমূর্তিগুলো এবং বিছানার মাথার দিকে ছাগলের লোমের বালিশটা দেখতে পেল।
17 And Saul said to Michal, Why hast thou deceived me so, and sent away my enemy, that he hast escaped? And Michal answered Saul, He said to me, Let me go; why should I kill thee?
১৭পরে শৌল মীখলকে বললেন, “তুমি কেন এই ভাবে আমাকে ঠকালে? তুমি আমার শত্রুকে ছেড়ে দেওয়াতে সে পালিয়ে গেছে।” মীখল তাঁকে বললেন, “তিনি বলেছিলেন, ‘আমাকে যেতে দাও৷ আমি কেন শুধু শুধু তোমাকে খুন করব’?”
18 So David fled, and escaped, and came to Samuel to Ramah, and told him all that Saul had done to him. And he and Samuel went and dwelt in Naioth.
১৮এদিকে দায়ূদ পালিয়ে গিয়ে প্রাণ বাঁচালেন। তিনি রামায় শমূয়েলের কাছে গেলেন এবং শৌল তাঁর উপর যা যা করেছেন তা সবই তাঁকে জানালেন। এর পর তিনি ও শমূয়েল গিয়ে নায়োতে বাস করতে লাগলেন।
19 And it was told to Saul, saying, Behold, David is at Naioth in Ramah.
১৯পরে কেউ শৌলকে বলল, “দেখুন দায়ূদ রামার নায়োতে আছেন।”
20 And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied.
২০তখন দায়ূদকে ধরে আনবার জন্য তিনি লোক পাঠিয়ে দিলেন। সেই লোকেরা গিয়ে দেখল শমূয়েলের অধীনে একদল ভাববাদী যারা ভাববানী বলেন। ঈশ্বরের আত্মা যখন শৌলের লোকদের উপরেও আসলেন তখন তারাও ভাববানী বলতে লাগল।
21 And when it was told Saul, he sent other messengers, and they prophesied likewise. And Saul sent messengers again the third time, and they prophesied also.
২১শৌলকে সেই খবর জানানো হলে তিনি আরও লোক পাঠালেন কিন্তু তারাও গিয়ে ভাববানী প্রচার করতে লাগল। পরে শৌল তৃতীয় বার লোক পাঠালেন আর তারাও গিয়ে ভাববানী প্রচার করতে লাগল।
22 Then he went also to Ramah, and came to a great well that is in Sechu: and he asked and said, Where are Samuel and David? And one said, Behold, they are at Naioth in Ramah.
২২শেষে শৌল নিজেই রামায় গেলেন এবং সেখূতে জল জমা করে রাখবার যে বড় জায়গা ছিল সেখানে গিয়ে জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, “শমূয়েল আর দায়ূদ কোথায়?” একজন বলল, “তাঁরা রামার নায়োতে আছেন।” তখন শৌল রামার নায়োতে গেলেন৷
23 And he went there to Naioth in Ramah: and the Spirit of God was upon him also, and he went on, and prophesied, until he came to Naioth in Ramah.
২৩আর ঈশ্বরের আত্মা তাঁর উপরেও এলে তিনি রামার নায়োত উপস্থিত না হওয়া পর্যন্ত ভাববাণী বললেন।
24 And he stripped off his clothes also, and prophesied before Samuel in like manner, and lay down naked all that day and all that night. Therefore they say, Is Saul also among the prophets?
২৪আর তিনিও তাঁর পোশাক খুলে ফেলে শমূয়েলের সামনে ভাববাণী বলতে লাগলেন। তিনি সারা দিন ও সারা রাত কাপড়-চোপড় ছাড়াই পড়ে রইলেন। সেইজন্যই লোকে বলে, “শৌলও কি তবে ভাববাদীদের মধ্যে একজন?”
