1 Samuel 12
1 And Samuel said to all Israel, Behold, I have hearkened to your voice in all that ye said to me, and have made a king over you.
Ug si Samuel namulong sa tibook Israel: Ania karon, ako nagpatalinghug sa inyong tingog sa tanan ninyong gipamulong kanako, ug naghimo ug usa ka hari sa ibabaw ninyo.
2 And now, behold, the king walketh before you: and I am old and grayheaded; and, behold, my sons are with you: and I have walked before you from my childhood to this day.
Ug karon, tan-awa, ang hari nagalakat sa atubangan ninyo; ug ako tigulang na ug ubanon na ug ulo; ug, ania karon, ang akong mga anak nga lalake anaa uban kaninyo: ug ako nakalakaw sa inyong atubangan sukad sa akong pagkabatan-on hangtud niining adlawa.
3 Behold, here I am: witness against me before the LORD, and before his anointed: whose ox have I taken? or whose donkey have I taken? or whom have I defrauded? whom have I oppressed? or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes with it? and I will restore it you.
Ania ako: saksi kamo batok kanako sa atubangan ni Jehova, ug sa atubangan sa iyang dinihog: kinsang vaca ang akong nakuha? kun kinsang asno akong gikuha? kinsa ang akong gilupigan? kun kinsa ang akong gilimbongan? kun gikan kang kinsang kamot nga ako nagdawat ug hiphip aron sa pagbuta sa akong mga mata diha niana? ug ako magauli niana kaninyo.
4 And they said, Thou hast not defrauded us, nor oppressed us, neither hast thou taken any thing from any man’s hand.
Ug sila ming-ingon: Ikaw wala maglimbong kanamo, ni maglupig kanamo, ni magdawat ka ug bisan unsa gikan sa kamot sa bisan kinsang tawo.
5 And he said to them, The LORD is witness against you, and his anointed is witness this day, that ye have not found any thing in my hand. And they answered, He is witness.
Ug siya miingon kanila: Si Jehova maoy saksi batok kaninyo, ug ang iyang dinihog mao ang saksi niining adlawa, nga kamo wala makakaplag ug bisan unsa sa akong kamot. Ug sila ming-ingon: Siya maoy saksi.
6 And Samuel said to the people, It is the LORD that advanced Moses and Aaron, and that brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt.
Ug si Samuel miingon sa katawohan: Si Jehova mao ang nagtudlo kang Moises ug kang Aaron, ug mao ang nagdala sa inyong mga amahan gikan sa yuta sa Egipto.
7 Now therefore stand still, that I may reason with you before the LORD of all the righteous acts of the LORD, which he did to you and to your fathers.
Busa karon panindog kamo sa walay lihok; aron ako magapangamuyo uban kaninyo sa atubangan ni Jehova mahitungod sa tanang mga matarung buhat ni Jehova, nga iyang gihimo kaninyo ug sa inyong mga amahan.
8 When Jacob had come into Egypt, and your fathers cried to the LORD, then the LORD sent Moses and Aaron, who brought forth your fathers from Egypt, and made them dwell in this place.
Sa diha nga si Jacob nahiabut didto sa Egipto, ug ang inyong mga amahan nanagtu-aw kang Jehova, unya si Jehova nagpadala kang Moises ug kang Aaron, nga maoy nagdala sa inyong mga amahan gikan sa Egipto, ug nagpapuyo kanila niining dapita.
9 And when they forgot the LORD their God, he sold them into the hand of Sisera, captain of the host of Hazor, and into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab, and they fought against them.
Apan sila nalimot kang Jehova nga ilang Dios; ug siya nagbaligya kanila ngadto sa kamot ni Sisara, capitan sa panon ni Asor, ug ngadto sa kamot sa mga Filistehanon, ug ngadto sa kamot sa hari sa Moab; ug sila nakig-away batok kanila.
10 And they cried to the LORD, and said, We have sinned, because we have forsaken the LORD, and have served Baalim and Ashtaroth: but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies, and we will serve thee.
Ug sila mingtu-aw kang Jehova, ug ming-ingon: Kami nakasala, tungod kay gibiyaan namo si Jehova, ug nag-alagad sa mga Baal ug sa Astaroth: apan karon luwasa kami gikan sa kamot sa among mga kaaway, ug kami mag-alagad kanimo.
11 And the LORD sent Jerubbaal, and Bedan, and Jephthah, and Samuel, and delivered you from the hand of your enemies on every side, and ye dwelt safe.
Ug si Jehova nagpadala kang Jerobaal, ug kang Bedan, ug kang Jephte, ug kang Samuel, ug nagluwas kaninyo gikan sa kamot sa inyong mga kaaway sa tanang dapit; ug kamo nagpuyo sa kalig-on.
12 And when ye saw that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon came against you, ye said to me, Nay; but a king shall reign over us: when the LORD your God was your king.
Ug sa diha nga kamo nakakita nga si Naas ang hari sa mga anak sa Ammon mianhi batok kaninyo, kamo ming-ingon kanako: Dili, apan usa ka hari ang maghari kanamo; sa diha nga si Jehova nga inyong Dios mao ang inyong hari.
13 Now therefore behold the king whom ye have chosen, and whom ye have desired! and, behold, the LORD hath set a king over you.
Busa karon, tan-awa, ang hari nga inyong gipili, ug nga inyong gipangayo: ug, ania karon, si Jehova nagbutang ug usa ka hari sa ibabaw ninyo.
14 If ye will fear the LORD, and serve him, and obey his voice, and not rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall both ye and also the king that reigneth over you continue following the LORD your God:
Kong kamo mahadlok kang Jehova, ug mag-alagad kaniya, ug mamati sa iyang tingog, ug dili mosukol batok sa sugo ni Jehova, ug kamo ug ang hari usab nga magahari sa ibabaw ninyo mahimong mga magsusunod ni Jehova nga inyong Dios, maayo:
15 But if ye will not obey the voice of the LORD, but rebel against the commandment of the LORD, then shall the hand of the LORD be against you, as it was against your fathers.
Apan kong dili kamo mamati sa tingog ni Jehova, kondili mosukol himoon batok sa sugo ni Jehova, nan ang kamot ni Jehova magabatok kaninyo, ingon nga kana batok usab sa inyong mga amahan.
16 Now therefore stand and see this great thing, which the LORD will do before your eyes.
Busa karon tindog kamo sa walay lihok ug tan-awa kining dakung butang, nga pagabuhaton ni Jehova sa atubangan sa inyong mga mata.
17 Is it not wheat harvest to day? I will call to the LORD, and he shall send thunder and rain; that ye may perceive and see that your wickedness is great, which ye have done in the sight of the LORD, in asking you a king.
Dili ba ting-ani sa trigo karong adlawa? Ako magatawag kang Jehova, nga siya magapadala ug dalogdog ug ulan; ug kamo mahibalo ug makakita nga ang inyong pagkadautan daku kaayo, nga inyong nahimo sa pagtan-aw ni Jehova, sa pagpangayo ninyo ug usa ka hari.
18 So Samuel called to the LORD; and the LORD sent thunder and rain that day: and all the people greatly feared the LORD and Samuel.
Busa si Samuel nagtawag kang Jehova; ug si Jehova nagpadala ug dalogdog ug ulan niadtong adlawa: ug ang tibook katawohan nangahadlok ug daku kang Jehova ug kang Samuel.
19 And all the people said to Samuel, Pray for thy servants to the LORD thy God, that we die not: for we have added to all our sins this evil, to ask us a king.
Ug ang tibook katawohan ming-ingon kang Samuel: Pag-ampo alang sa imong sulogoon kang Jehova nga imong Dios, aron kami dili mamatay; kay kami nakadugang sa tanan namong mga sala niining dautan sa pagpangayo alang kanamo, ug usa ka hari.
20 And Samuel said to the people, Fear not: ye have done all this wickedness: yet turn not aside from following the LORD, but serve the LORD with all your heart;
Ug si Samuel miingon sa katawohan: Ayaw kahadlok: kamo sa pagkatinuod naghimo niining tanang kadautan; apan ayaw pagsimang gikan sa pagsunod kang Jehova, kondili mag-alagad kamo kang Jehova sa bug-os ninyong kasingkasing:
21 And turn ye not aside: for then should ye go after vain things, which cannot profit nor deliver; for they are vain.
Ug ayaw kamo pagtipas; kay unya magalakaw kamo sa pagpangita sa mga butang nga kawang nga dili magapulos, ni makaluwas, kay kini maoy mga butang nga kawang.
22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.
Kay si Jehova dili motalikod sa iyang katawohan tungod sa iyang dakung ngalan, tungod kay nakapahimuot kang Jehova ang paghimo kaninyo nga usa ka katawohan alang sa iyang kaugalingon.
23 Moreover as for me, Far be it from me that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:
Labut pa, alang kanako, ipahilayo kini kanako nga ako magapakasala batok kang Jehova sa pag-undang sa pag-ampo tungod kaninyo: apan ako nagatudlo kaninyo sa maayo ug sa matarung nga dalan.
24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider what great things he hath done for you.
Kahadloki lamang ninyo si Jehova, ug alagaron ninyo siya sa kamatuoran sa bug-os ninyong kasingkasing; kay hunahunaa kong unsa ka dagku ang mga butang nga iyang gihimo alang kaninyo.
25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.
Apan kong magapadayon kamo sa pagbuhat sa kadautan, mangaut-ut kamo, kamo ug ang inyong hari.
