1 Kings 9

1 And it came to pass, when Solomon had finished the building of the house of the LORD, and the king’s house, and all Solomon’s desire which he was pleased to perform,

Y como Salomón hubo acabado la obra de la casa de Jehová, y la casa real, y todo lo que Salomón quiso hacer,

2 That the LORD appeared to Solomon the second time, as he had appeared to him at Gibeon.

Jehová apareció a Salomón la segunda vez, como le había aparecido en Gabaón,

3 And the LORD said to him, I have heard thy prayer and thy supplication, that thou hast made before me: I have hallowed this house, which thou hast built, to put my name there for ever; and my eyes and my heart shall be there perpetually.

Y díjole Jehová: Yo he oído tu oración, y tu ruego, que has hecho en mi presencia. Yo he santificado esta casa que tú has edificado, para poner mi nombre en ella para siempre, y en ella estarán mis ojos y mi corazón todos los días.

4 And if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, in integrity of heart, and in uprightness, to do according to all that I have commanded thee, and wilt keep my statutes and my judgments:

Y tú, si anduvieres delante de mí, como anduvo David tu padre, en integridad de corazón, y en equidad, haciendo todas las cosas que yo te he mandado, y guardando mis estatutos y mis derechos;

5 Then I will establish the throne of thy kingdom upon Israel for ever, as I promised to David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man upon the throne of Israel.

Yo afirmaré el trono de tu reino sobre Israel para siempre, como hablé a David tu padre, diciendo: No faltará de ti varón en el trono de Israel.

6 But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:

Mas si apartando os apartareis de mí vosotros y vuestros hijos, y no guardareis mis mandamientos, y mis estatutos que yo he dado delante de vosotros, mas fuereis, y sirviereis a dioses ajenos, y los adorareis:

7 Then will I cut off Israel from the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:

Yo cortaré a Israel de sobre la haz de la tierra, que yo les he entregado; y esta casa que he santificado a mi nombre yo la echaré de delante de mí, e Israel será por proverbio y fábula a todos los pueblos.

8 And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus to this land, and to this house?

Y esta casa que estaba en estima, cualquiera que pasare por ella se pasmará, y silbará: y dirán: ¿Por qué ha hecho así Jehová a esta tierra, y a esta casa?

9 And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers from the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

Y dirán: Por cuanto dejaron a Jehová su Dios, que había sacado a sus padres de tierra de Egipto, y echaron mano a los dioses ajenos, y los adoraron, y les sirvieron: por eso ha traído Jehová sobre ellos todo aqueste mal.

10 And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, when Solomon had built the two houses, the house of the LORD, and the king’s house,

Y aconteció al cabo de veinte años que Salomón había edificado las dos casas; es a saber, la casa de Jehová, y la casa real,

11 ( Now Hiram the king of Tyre had furnished Solomon with cedar trees and fir trees, and with gold, according to all his desire, ) that then king Solomon gave Hiram twenty cities in the land of Galilee.

(Para las cuales Hiram rey de Tiro había traído a Salomón madera de cedro y de haya, y oro, cuanto él quiso, ) que el rey Salomón dio a Hiram veinte ciudades en tierra de Galilea.

12 And Hiram came out from Tyre to see the cities which Solomon had given him; and they pleased him not.

E Hiram salió de Tiro para ver las ciudades que Salomón le había dado, y no le contentaron.

13 And he said, What cities are these which thou hast given me, my brother? And he called them the land of Cabul to this day.

Y dijo: ¿Qué ciudades son estas que me has dado, hermano? Y púsoles por nombre, tierra de Cabul, hasta hoy.

14 And Hiram sent to the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold.

E Hiram había enviado al rey ciento y veinte talentos de oro.

15 And this is the reason of the forced labour which king Solomon raised; to build the house of the LORD, and his own house, and Millo, and the wall of Jerusalem, and Hazor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.

Y esta es la cuenta del tributo que el rey Salomón impuso para edificar la casa de Jehová, y su casa, y a Mello, y el muro de Jerusalem, y a Heser, y Mageddo, y Gazer.

16 For Pharaoh king of Egypt had gone up, and taken Gezer, and burnt it with fire, and slain the Canaanites that dwelt in the city, and given it for a present to his daughter, Solomon’s wife.

Faraón el rey de Egipto había subido, y tomado a Gazer, y la había quemado, y había muerto los Cananeos que habitaban la ciudad, y la había dado en don a su hija, la mujer de Salomón.

17 And Solomon built Gezer, and Bethhoron the lower,

Y Salomón restauró a Gazer, y a la baja Bet-orón.

18 And Baalath, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,

Y a Baalat, y a Tadmor, en tierra del desierto.

19 And all the store cities that Solomon had, and cities for his chariots, and cities for his horsemen, and that which Solomon desired to build in Jerusalem, and in Lebanon, and in all the land of his dominion.

Asimismo todas las ciudades donde Salomón tenía municiones, y las ciudades de los carros, y las ciudades de la gente de a caballo, y todo lo que Salomón deseó edificar en Jerusalem, en el Líbano, y en toda la tierra de su señorío.

20 And all the people that were left of the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, who were not of the children of Israel,

A todos los pueblos que quedaron de los Amorreos, Jetteos, Ferezeos, Heveos, Jebuseos, que no fueron de los hijos de Israel,

21 Their children that were left after them in the land, whom the children of Israel also were not able utterly to destroy, upon those did Solomon raise forced labour to this day.

A sus hijos, que quedaron en la tierra después de ellos, que los hijos de Israel no pudieron acabar, hizo Salomón que sirviesen con tributo hasta hoy.

22 But of the children of Israel did Solomon make no slaves: but they were men of war, and his servants, and his princes, and his captains, and rulers of his chariots, and his horsemen.

Mas a ninguno de los hijos de Israel impuso Salomón servicio, sino eran, o hombres de guerra, o sus criados, o sus príncipes, o sus capitanes, o príncipes de sus carros, o su gente de a caballo.

23 These were the chief of the officers that were over Solomon’s work, five hundred and fifty, who bore rule over the people that wrought in the work.

Y eran los que Salomón había hecho príncipes, y prepósitos sobre las obras de Salomón, quinientos y cincuenta, los cuales estaban sobre el pueblo que trabajaba en aquella obra.

24 But Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the city of David to her house which Solomon had built for her: then he built Millo.

Y subió la hija de Faraón de la ciudad de David a su casa, que Salomón le había edificado: entonces él edificó a Mello.

25 And three times in a year did Solomon offer burnt offerings and peace offerings upon the altar which he built to the LORD, and he burnt incense upon the altar that was before the LORD. So he finished the house.

Y ofrecía Salomón tres veces cada un año holocaustos y pacíficos sobre el altar que él edificó a Jehová: y quemaba perfumes sobre el que estaba delante de Jehová, después que la casa fue acabada.

26 And king Solomon made a navy of ships in Eziongeber, which is beside Eloth, on the shore of the Red sea, in the land of Edom.

Hizo también el rey Salomón navíos en Asión-gaber, que es junto a Elat a la ribera del mar Bermejo, en la tierra de Edom;

27 And Hiram sent in the navy his servants, sailors that had knowledge of the sea, with the servants of Solomon.

Y envió Hiram en ellos a sus siervos, marineros y diestros en la mar, con los siervos de Salomón:

28 And they came to Ophir, and obtained from there gold, four hundred and twenty talents, and brought it to king Solomon.

Los cuales fueron a Ofir, y tomaron de allá oro, cuatrocientos y veinte talentos, y trajéron lo al rey Salomón.
