1 Kings 4

1 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

१राजा शलमोन सर्व इस्राएलाचा राजा होता.

2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,

२त्यास शासनात मदत करणाऱ्या प्रमुख अधिकाऱ्यांची नावे अशी: सादोकाचा पुत्र अजऱ्या, हा याजक होता.

3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.

३शिशाचे पुत्र अलिहोरेफ आणि अहीया. न्यायालयातील घडामोडींची टिपणे ठेवणे हे त्यांचे काम होते. अहीलुदाचा पुत्र यहोशाफाट हा बखरकार होता.

4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the army: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

४बनाया हा यहोयादाचा पुत्र सेनापती होता सादोक आणि अब्याथार याजक होते

5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king’s friend:

५नाथानचा पुत्र अजऱ्या हा जिल्हाधिकाऱ्यांचा प्रमुख होता, नाथानाचा पुत्र जाबूद याजक असून राजाचा सल्लागार होता.

6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the forced labour.

६अहीशार हा राजाच्या महालातील सर्व गोष्टींचा प्रमुख होता, अब्दाचा पुत्र अदोनीराम गुलामांच्या खात्याचा प्रमुख होता.

7 And Solomon had twelve officers over all Israel, who provided food for the king and his household: each man his month in a year made provision.

७इस्राएलचे कारभाराच्या सोयीसाठी बारा भाग पाडलेले होते. प्रत्येक भागावर शलमोनाने कारभारी नेमले होते. त्या त्या भागातून अन्नधान्य गोळा करून राजाच्या कुटुंबियांना देण्याची त्यांची जबाबदारी होती. बारा कारभाऱ्यापैकी प्रत्येकावर प्रतिवर्षी एक महिना ही पाळी येई.

8 And these are their names: The son of Hur, in mount Ephraim:

८त्या बारा कारभाऱ्याची नावे अशी: बेन-हूर, हा एफ्राईमाच्या डोंगराळ प्रदेशावर अधिकारी होता.

9 The son of Dekar, in Makaz, and in Shaalbim, and Bethshemesh, and Elonbethhanan:

९माकस, शालबीम, बेथ-शेमेश व एलोन बेथ-हानान यांच्यावर बेन-देकेर हा कारभारी.

10 The son of Hesed, in Aruboth; to him pertained Sochoh, and all the land of Hepher:

१०अरुबोथ, सोखो आणि हेफेर या प्रांतावर बेन-हेसेद हा कारभारी होता.

11 The son of Abinadab, in all the region of Dor; who had Taphath the daughter of Solomon for a wife:

११बेन-अबीनादाब पूर्ण दोर प्रांतावर होता. शलमोनाची कन्या टाफाथ ही याची पत्नी.

12 Baana the son of Ahilud; to him pertained Taanach and Megiddo, and all Bethshean, which is by Zartanah beneath Jezreel, from Bethshean to Abelmeholah, even to the place that is beyond Jokneam:

१२तानख, मगिद्दो व पूर्ण बेथ-शान म्हणजेच सारतानाजवळ इज्रेलच्या खाली बेथ-शानापासून आबेल-महोलापर्यंत व यकमामाच्या उतारापर्यंत अहीलुदाचा पुत्र बाना हा होता.

13 The son of Geber, in Ramothgilead; to him pertained the towns of Jair the son of Manasseh, which are in Gilead; to him also pertained the region of Argob, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and brasen bars:

१३रामोथ-गिलादावर बेन-गेबेर; हा प्रमुख होता. गिलाद येथील मनश्शेचा पुत्र याईर याची सर्व गावे, बाशानातले अर्गोब प्रांत हे भाग त्याच्याकडे होते. या भागात भक्कम तटबंदीची आणि पितळेची अडसर असणारी साठ मोठी नगरे होती.

14 Ahinadab the son of Iddo had Mahanaim:

१४इद्दोचा पुत्र अहीनादाब महनाईम प्रांतावर होता.

15 Ahimaaz was in Naphtali; he also took Basmath the daughter of Solomon for a wife:

१५नफतालीवर अहीमास होता. (ज्याने शलमोनाची कन्या बासमथ हिच्याशी लग्न केले होते.)

16 Baanah the son of Hushai was in Asher and in Aloth:

१६हूशयाचा पुत्र बाना, हा आशेर आणि आलोथ यांच्यावर कारभारी होता.

17 Jehoshaphat the son of Paruah, in Issachar:

१७पारुहाचा पुत्र, यहोशाफाट इस्साखारवर होता.

18 Shimei the son of Elah, in Benjamin:

१८एलाचा पुत्र शिमी बन्यामीनचा कारभारी होता.

19 Geber the son of Uri was in the country of Gilead, in the country of Sihon king of the Amorites, and of Og king of Bashan; and he was the only officer who was in the land.

१९उरीचा पुत्र गेबेर गिलाद प्रांतावर होता. अमोऱ्यांचा राजा सीहोन आणि बाशानाचा राजा ओग हे या प्रांतात राहत होते. गेबेर मात्र त्या प्रांताचा एकमेव कारभारी होता.

20 Judah and Israel were many, as the sand which is by the sea in multitude, eating and drinking, and making merry.

२०यहूदा आणि इस्राएलमध्ये समुंद्रातील वाळूसारखी बहुसंख्य माणसे होती. ती खात, पीत व मजा करत आनंदाने जगत होती.

21 And Solomon reigned over all kingdoms from the river to the land of the Philistines, and to the border of Egypt: they brought presents, and served Solomon all the days of his life.

२१नदीपासून ते पलिष्ट्यांच्या भूमीपर्यंत व मिसराच्या सीमेपर्यंत शलमोनाची सत्ता होती. या देशांकडून शलमोनाला नजराणे येत आणि ते आयुष्यभर त्याचा आदर करीत.

22 And Solomon’s provision for one day was thirty measures of fine flour, and sixty measures of meal,

२२शलमोनाला एका दिवसास जेवणाऱ्या सर्वांसाठी खालील अन्नपदार्थ लागत: तीस कोर मापाचे सपीठ; साठ कोर मापाचे पीठ,

23 Ten fat oxen, and twenty oxen out of the pastures, and an hundred sheep, besides harts, and roebucks, and fallowdeer, and fatted fowls.

२३दहा पुष्ट गुरे कुरणावर चरलेली वीस गुरे, शंभर मेंढरे, हरीण, सांबरे, भेकर, खाण्यायोग्य पक्षी.

24 For he had dominion over all the region on this side the river, from Tiphsah even to Azzah, over all the kings on this side of the river: and he had peace on all sides around him.

२४महानदाच्या अलीकडील सर्व देशांवर म्हणजे तिफसाह येथून गज्जापर्यंतच्या सर्व देशांवर व जितके राजे होते त्यावर त्याची सत्ता होती. या प्रदेशात सर्वत्र शांतता नांदत होती.

25 And Judah and Israel dwelt safely, every man under his vine and under his fig tree, from Dan even to Beersheba, all the days of Solomon.

२५शलमोनाच्या दिवसात दानपासून बैर-शेबापर्यंत, यहूदा आणि इस्राएलमधील सर्व लोक निर्धास्तपणे व शांततेने राहत होते. आपापल्या अंजीर वृक्षांखाली आणि द्राक्षबागांमध्ये ते निवांत होते.

26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.

२६रथाच्या चार हजार घोड्यांसाठी पागा होत्या. तसेच शलमोनाकडे बारा हजार स्वार होते.

27 And those officers provided food for king Solomon, and for all that came to king Solomon’s table, every man in his month: they lacked nothing.

२७शिवाय ते बारा कारभारी प्रत्येक महिन्याला शलमोनाला सर्व जीवनावश्यक गोष्टी पुरवत होते. राजाच्या पंगतीला बसून जेवणाऱ्या सर्वांना ते पुरेसे होते.

28 Barley also and straw for the horses and dromedaries they brought to the place where the officers were, every man according to his charge.

२८रथाच्या आणि स्वारीच्या घोड्यांसाठी पुरेसा पेंढा आणि सातूही ते कारभारी पुरवीत. नेमलेल्या ठिकाणी प्रत्येकजण हे धान्य आणून टाकी.

29 And God gave Solomon great wisdom and understanding, and largeness of heart, even as the sand that is on the sea shore.

२९देवाने शलमोनाला भरपूर शहाणपण व बुध्दी दिली होती. आणि समुद्राच्या वाळूप्रमाणे विशाल मन दिले.

30 And Solomon’s wisdom excelled the wisdom of all the children of the east country, and all the wisdom of Egypt.

३०पूर्वेकडील सर्वांपेक्षा शलमोनाचे शहाणपण अधिक होते. मिसरमधल्यापेक्षा ते थोर होते.

31 For he was wiser than all men; than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, and Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol: and his fame was in all the surrounding nations.

३१पृथ्वीच्या पाठीवर त्याच्याइतका सूज्ञ कोणी नव्हता. एज्राही एथान तसेच माहोलची पुत्र, हेमान व कल्यकोल व दर्दा, यांच्यापेक्षा तो शहाणा होता. त्याचे नाव इस्राएल राष्ट्रा बाहेर सर्वत्र पसरले होते.

32 And he spoke three thousand proverbs: and his songs were a thousand and five.

३२आपल्या आयुष्यात त्याने तीन हजार बोध वचने आणि पंधराशे गीते लिहिली.

33 And he spoke of trees, from the cedar tree that is in Lebanon even to the hyssop that springeth out of the wall: he spoke also of beasts, and of fowls, and of creeping things, and of fishes.

३३निसर्गाविषयी ही त्यास ज्ञान होते. लबानोनातल्या गंधसरुपासून भिंतीतून उगवणाऱ्या वनस्पतीपर्यंत सर्व तऱ्हेच्या झाडांचे त्यास ज्ञान होते. प्राणी, पक्षी, मासे आणि सरपटणारे प्राणी यांचेही त्याने वर्णन केले आहे.

34 And there came of all people to hear the wisdom of Solomon, from all kings of the earth, who had heard of his wisdom.

३४देशोदेशीचे लोक त्याच्याकडे ज्ञानार्जनासाठी येत. सर्व राष्ट्रांचे राजे आपल्या पदरच्या हुशार मनुष्यांना शलमोनाकडून ज्ञान घ्यायला पाठवत.
