1 Kings 13
1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD to Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.
Y he aquí que un varón de Dios por palabra del SEÑOR vino de Judá a Bet-el; y estando Jeroboam al altar para quemar incienso,
2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.
él clamó contra el altar por palabra del SEÑOR, y dijo: Altar, altar, así dijo el SEÑOR: He aquí que a la casa de David nacerá un hijo, llamado Josías, el cual sacrificará sobre ti a los sacerdotes de los altos que queman sobre ti incienso; y sobre ti quemarán huesos de hombres.
3 And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be split apart, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.
Y aquel mismo día dio una señal, diciendo: Esta es la señal de que el SEÑOR ha hablado: he aquí que el altar se quebrará, y la ceniza que sobre él está se derramará.
4 And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not draw it to him again.
Y cuando el rey oyó la palabra del varón de Dios, que había clamado contra el altar en Bet-el, extendiendo su mano desde el altar, Jeroboam dijo: ¡Prendedle! Mas la mano que había extendido contra él, se le secó, que no la pudo tornar a sí.
5 The altar also was split apart, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.
Y el altar se rompió, y se derramó la ceniza del altar, conforme a la señal que el varón de Dios había dado por palabra del SEÑOR.
6 And the king answered and said to the man of God, Entreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored to me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king’s hand was restored to him again, and became as it was before.
Entonces respondiendo el rey, dijo al varón de Dios: Te pido que ruegues a la faz del SEÑOR tu Dios, y ora por mí, que mi mano me sea restituida. Y el varón de Dios oró a la faz del SEÑOR, y la mano del rey se le recuperó y se tornó como antes.
7 And the king said to the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.
Y el rey dijo al varón de Dios: Ven conmigo a casa, y comerás, y yo te daré un don.
8 And the man of God said to the king, If thou wilt give me half thy house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:
Mas el varón de Dios dijo al rey: Si me dieses la mitad de tu casa, no iría contigo, ni comería pan ni bebería agua en este lugar;
9 For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.
porque así me está mandado por palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo: No comas pan, ni bebas agua, ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.
10 So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.
Se fue pues por otro camino, y no volvió por el camino por donde había venido a Bet-el.
11 Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken to the king, them they told also to their father.
Y moraba en Bet-el un viejo profeta, al cual vino su hijo, y le contó todo lo que el varón de Dios había hecho aquel día en Bet-el; y contaron también a su padre las palabras que había hablado al rey.
12 And their father said to them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, who came from Judah.
Y su padre les dijo: ¿Por qué camino fue? Y sus hijos le mostraron el camino por donde se había tornado el varón de Dios, que había venido de Judá.
13 And he said to his sons, Saddle me the donkey. So they saddled him the donkey: and he rode on it,
Y él dijo a sus hijos: Ensilladme el asno. Y ellos le ensillaron el asno, y subió en él.
14 And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said to him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.
Y yendo tras el varón de Dios, le halló que estaba sentado debajo de un alcornoque; y le dijo: ¿Eres tú el varón de Dios que viniste de Judá? Y él dijo: Yo soy.
15 Then he said to him, Come home with me, and eat bread.
Le dijo entonces: Ven conmigo a casa, y come del pan.
16 And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:
Mas él respondió: No podré volver contigo, ni iré contigo; ni tampoco comeré pan ni beberé agua contigo en este lugar;
17 For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.
porque por palabra de Dios me ha sido dicho: No comas pan ni bebas agua allí, ni vuelvas por el camino que fueres.
18 He said to him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spoke to me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thy house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied to him.
Y el otro le dijo: Yo también soy profeta como tú, y un ángel me ha hablado por palabra del SEÑOR, diciendo: Vuélvele contigo a tu casa, para que coma pan y beba agua. Pero le mintió.
19 So he went back with him, and ate bread in his house, and drank water.
Entonces volvió con él, y comió del pan en su casa, y bebió del agua.
20 And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came to the prophet that brought him back:
Y aconteció que, estando ellos a la mesa, vino palabra del SEÑOR al profeta que le había hecho volver;
21 And he cried to the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,
y clamó al varón de Dios que había venido de Judá, diciendo: Así dijo el SEÑOR: Por cuanto has sido rebelde al dicho del SEÑOR, y no guardaste el mandamiento que el SEÑOR tu Dios te había mandado,
22 But hast returned, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of which the LORD said to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy body shall not come to the sepulchre of thy fathers.
sino que volviste, y comiste del pan y bebiste del agua en el lugar donde el SEÑOR te había dicho, que ni comieses pan, ni bebieses agua, no entrará tu cuerpo en el sepulcro de tus padres.
23 And it came to pass, after he had eaten bread, and after he had drunk, that he saddled for him the donkey, that is, for the prophet whom he had brought back.
Y cuando había comido del pan, y bebido, el profeta que le había hecho volver le ensilló un asno;
24 And when he had gone, a lion met him by the way, and slew him: and his body was cast in the way, and the donkey stood by it, the lion also stood by the body.
y yéndose, le topó un león en el camino, y le mató; y su cuerpo estaba echado en el camino, y el asno estaba junto a él, y el león también estaba junto al cuerpo.
25 And, behold, men passed by, and saw the body cast in the way, and the lion standing by the body: and they came and told it in the city where the old prophet dwelt.
Y he aquí unos que pasaban, y vieron el cuerpo que estaba echado en el camino, y el león que estaba junto al cuerpo; y vinieron, y lo dijeron en la ciudad donde el viejo profeta habitaba.
26 And when the prophet that brought him back from the way heard of it, he said, It is the man of God, who was disobedient to the word of the LORD: therefore the LORD hath delivered him to the lion, which hath torn him, and slain him, according to the word of the LORD, which he spoke to him.
Y oyéndolo el profeta que le había vuelto del camino, dijo: El varón de Dios es, que fue rebelde al dicho del SEÑOR; por tanto el SEÑOR le ha entregado al león, que le ha quebrantado y muerto, conforme a la palabra del SEÑOR que él le dijo.
27 And he spoke to his sons, saying, Saddle me the donkey. And they saddled him.
Y habló a sus hijos, y les dijo: Ensilladme un asno. Y ellos se lo ensillaron.
28 And he went and found his body cast in the way, and the donkey and the lion standing by the body: the lion had not eaten the body, nor torn the donkey.
Y él fue, y halló su cuerpo tendido en el camino, y el asno y el león estaban junto al cuerpo; el león no había comido el cuerpo, ni dañado al asno.
29 And the prophet took up the body of the man of God, and laid it upon the donkey, and brought it back: and the old prophet came to the city, to mourn and to bury him.
Y tomando el profeta el cuerpo del varón de Dios, lo puso sobre el asno, y se lo llevó. Y el profeta viejo vino a la ciudad, para endecharle y enterrarle.
30 And he laid his body in his own grave; and they mourned over him, saying, Alas, my brother!
Y puso su cuerpo en su sepulcro; y le endecharon, diciendo: ¡Ay, hermano mío!
31 And it came to pass, after he had buried him, that he spoke to his sons, saying, When I am dead, then bury me in the sepulchre in which the man of God is buried; lay my bones beside his bones:
Y después que le hubieron enterrado, habló a sus hijos, diciendo: Cuando yo muriere, enterradme en el sepulcro en que está sepultado el varón de Dios; poned mis huesos junto a los suyos.
32 For the saying which he cried by the word of the LORD against the altar in Bethel, and against all the houses of the high places which are in the cities of Samaria, shall surely come to pass.
Porque sin duda vendrá lo que él dijo a voces por palabra del SEÑOR contra el altar que está en Bet-el, y contra todas las casas de los altos que están en las ciudades de Samaria.
33 After this thing Jeroboam returned not from his evil way, but made again of the lowest of the people priests of the high places: whoever would, he consecrated him, and he became one of the priests of the high places.
Después de esto no se tornó Jeroboam de su mal camino; antes volvió a hacer sacerdotes de los altos de entre el pueblo, y quien quería se consagraba, y era de los sacerdotes de los altos.
34 And this thing became sin to the house of Jeroboam, even to cut it off, and to destroy it from the face of the earth.
Y esto fue causa de pecado a la casa de Jeroboam; por lo cual fue cortada y raída de sobre la faz de la tierra.
