1 Corinthians 10
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
૧મારા ભાઈઓ, હું ઇચ્છતો નથી કે તમે આ બાબત વિષે અજાણ્યા રહો કે, આપણા સર્વ પૂર્વજો વાદળાં ની છાયા નીચે સમુદ્રમાં થઈને પાર ગયા;
2 And were all baptized to Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
૨તેઓ સર્વ મૂસાના અનુયાયી થવાને વાદળમાં તથા સમુદ્રમાં બાપ્તિસ્મા પામ્યા;
3 And all ate the same spiritual food;
૩સર્વએ એક જ આત્મિક અન્ન ખાધું,
4 And all drank the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
૪તેઓ સર્વએ એક જ આત્મિક પાણી પીધું; કેમ કે તેમની પાછળ ચાલનાર આત્મિક ખડકનું પાણી તેઓએ પીધું; તે ખડક તો ખ્રિસ્ત હતા.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
૫પણ તેઓમાંના કેટલાક પર ઈશ્વર પ્રસન્ન નહોતા, માટે તેઓ અરણ્યમાં માર્યા ગયા.
6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
૬જેમ તેઓ દુષ્ટ વસ્તુઓની વાસના રાખનાર હતા તેવા આપણે ન થઈએ, તે માટે આ વાતો આપણે સારુ ચેતવણીરૂપ હતી.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
૭જેમ તેઓમાંના કેટલાક મૂર્તિપૂજક થયા, તેવા તમે ન થાઓ; લખેલું છે કે, લોક ખાવાપીવા બેઠા, અને ઊઠીને નાચવા લાગ્યા.
8 Neither let us commit immorality, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
૮જેમ તેઓમાંના કેટલાકે વ્યભિચાર કર્યો, અને એક દિવસમાં ત્રેવીસ હજાર માર્યા ગયા, એવું આપણે ન કરીએ.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed by serpents.
૯જેમ તેઓમાંના કેટલાકે ખ્રિસ્તની કસોટી કરી. અને સર્પોથી નાશ પામ્યા, તેમ આપણે ઈશ્વરની કસોટી કરીએ નહિ.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.
૧૦વળી જેમ તેઓમાંના કેટલાકે કચકચ કરી, અને સંહારકે તેમનો સંહાર કર્યો એવી કચકચ તમે ન કરો.
11 Now all these things happened to them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. (aiōn g165)
૧૧હવે તે સર્વ તેઓના પર આવી પડ્યું તે તો આપણને સમજે તે માટે થયું; જેઓનાં પર યુગોનો અંત આવી લાગ્યો છે એવો બોધ આપણને મળે તેને સારુ તે લખવામાં આવ્યું છે. (aiōn g165)
12 Therefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
૧૨માટે જે કોઈ પોતાને સ્થિર ઊભેલો સમજે છે, તે પોતે પડે નહિ માટે સાવચેત રહે.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
૧૩માણસ સહન ન કરી શકે એવું કોઈ પરીક્ષણ તમને થયું નથી. વળી ઈશ્વર વિશ્વાસુ છે, તે તમારી શક્તિ ઉપરાંત પરીક્ષણ તમારા પર આવવા દેશે નહિ; પણ તમે તે સહન કરી શકો, માટે પરીક્ષણ સાથે છૂટકાનો માર્ગ પણ રાખશે.
14 Therefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
૧૪એ માટે, મારા પ્રિયજનો, મૂર્તિપૂજાથી નાસી જાઓ.
15 I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.
૧૫તમને સમજુ માણસો સમજીને, હું એ તમને કહું છું, તમે મારી વાતનો વિચાર કરો.
16 The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?
૧૬આશીર્વાદનાં જે પ્યાલા પર આપણે આશીર્વાદ માગીએ છીએ, તે શું ખ્રિસ્તનાં રક્તમાં સાથે મળીને ભાગ નથી લેતાં? આપણે જે રોટલી ભાંગીએ છીએ, તે શું ખ્રિસ્તનાં શરીરમાં સાથે મળીને ભાગ નથી લેતાં?
17 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
૧૭રોટલી એક જ છે, માટે આપણે ઘણાં છતાં એક શરીરરૂપ છીએ, કેમ કે આપણે સર્વ એક જ રોટલીના ભાગીદાર છીએ.
18 Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they who eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?
૧૮જેઓ જાતિએ ઇઝરાયલી છે તેમને જુઓ; શું યજ્ઞ બલિદાનો ખાનારા યજ્ઞવેદીના સહભાગી નથી?
19 What then do I say? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?
૧૯તો હું શું કહું છું? કે મૂર્તિની પ્રસાદી કંઈ છે? અથવા મૂર્તિ કંઈ છે?
20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with demons.
૨૦ના, પણ હું કહું છું કે, વિદેશીઓ જે બલિદાન આપે છે તે તેઓ ઈશ્વરને નહિ, પણ દુષ્ટાત્માઓને આપે છે; તમે તેઓનો સંગ ના કરો, એવી મારી ઇચ્છા છે.
21 Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of demons: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord’s table, and of the table of demons.
૨૧તમે પ્રભુના પ્યાલા સાથે દુષ્ટાત્માઓનો પ્યાલો પી શકતા નથી; તેમ જ તમે પ્રભુના ભોજનની સાથે દુષ્ટાત્માઓનાં ભોજનના ભાગીદાર થઈ શકતા નથી.
22 Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?
૨૨તો શું આપણે પ્રભુને ચીડવીએ છીએ? શું આપણે તેમના કરતાં વધારે બળવાન છીએ?
23 All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.
૨૩સઘળી વસ્તુઓ ઉચિત છે; પણ સઘળી ઉપયોગી નથી. સઘળી વસ્તુઓ ઉચિત છે; પણ સઘળી ઉન્નતિકારક નથી.
24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another’s good.
૨૪માત્ર પોતાનું જ નહિ, પણ દરેકે બીજાનું હિત જોવું.
25 Whatever is sold in the meat market, that eat, asking no question for conscience sake:
૨૫જે કંઈ બજારમાં વેચાય છે, તે પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિની ખાતર કંઈ પણ પૂછપરછ વગર ખાઓ;
26 For the earth is the Lord’s, and all it containeth.
૨૬કેમ કે પૃથ્વી તથા તેમાંનું સર્વસ્વ પ્રભુનું છે.
27 If any of them that believe not bid you to a feast, and ye are disposed to go; whatever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.
૨૭જો કોઈ અવિશ્વાસી તમને નિમંત્રણ આપે અને તમે જવા ઇચ્છતા હો, તો તમારી આગળ જે કંઈ પીરસવામાં આવે તે પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિની ખાતર કશી પૂછપરછ કર્યાં વિના ખાઓ.
28 But if any man shall say to you, This is offered in sacrifice to idols, eat not for his sake that showed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth is the Lord’s, and all it containeth:
૨૮પણ જો કોઈ તમને કહે કે, તે મૂર્તિની પ્રસાદી છે, તો જેણે તે બતાવ્યું તેની ખાતર, તથા પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિની ખાતર તે ન ખાઓ.
29 Conscience, I say, not thy own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged by another man’s conscience?
૨૯હું જે પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિ કહું છું, તે તારી પોતાની નહિ, પણ બીજી વ્યક્તિની કેમ કે બીજાની પ્રેરકબુદ્ધિથી મારી સ્વતંત્રતાનો ન્યાય કેમ થાય છે?
30 For if I by grace am a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks?
૩૦જો હું આભારપૂર્વક તે ખાવામાં ભાગીદાર થાઉં, તો જેને સારુ હું આભાર માનું છું, તે વિષે મારી નિંદા કેમ કરવામાં આવે છે?
31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatever ye do, do all to the glory of God.
૩૧માટે તમે ખાઓ કે, પીઓ કે, જે કંઈ કરો તે સર્વ ઈશ્વરના મહિમાને અર્થે કરો.
32 Give no offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
૩૨તમે યહૂદીઓને, ગ્રીકોને કે ઈશ્વરના વિશ્વાસી સમુદાયને અવરોધરૂપ ન થાઓ;
33 Even as I please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be saved.
૩૩તેઓ ઉદ્ધાર પામે માટે જેમ હું પણ સર્વ બાબતે સર્વને ખુશ રાખીને મારું પોતાનું નહિ, પણ ઘણાંનું હિત જોઉં છું, તેમ જ તમે કરો.
