1 Chronicles 25
1 Moreover David and the captains of the host separated to the service of the sons of Asaph, and of Heman, and of Jeduthun, who should prophesy with harps, with psalteries, and with cymbals: and the number of the workmen according to their service was:
Igitur David, et magistratus exercitus segregaverunt in ministerium filios Asaph, et Heman, et Idithun: qui prophetarent in citharis, et psalteriis, et cymbalis secundum numerum suum dedicato sibi officio servientes.
2 Of the sons of Asaph; Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asarelah, the sons of Asaph under the hands of Asaph, who prophesied according to the order of the king.
De filiis Asaph: Zachur, et Ioseph, et Nathania, et Asarela, filii Asaph: sub manu Asaph prophetantis iuxta regem.
3 Of Jeduthun: the sons of Jeduthun; Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun, who prophesied with a harp, to give thanks and to praise the LORD.
Porro Idithun, filii Idithun: Godolias, Sori, Ieseias, et Hasabias, et Mathathias, sex, sub manu patris sui Idithun, qui in cithara prophetabat super confitentes et laudantes Dominum.
4 Of Heman: the sons of Heman; Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamtiezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth:
Heman quoque, filii Heman: Bocciau, Mathaniau, Oziel, Subuel, et Ierimoth, Hananias, Hanani, Eliatha, Geddelthi, et Romemthiezer, et Iesbacassa, Mellothi, Othir, Mahazioth:
5 All these were the sons of Heman the king’s seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. And God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
Omnes isti filii Heman Videntis regis in sermonibus Dei, ut exaltaret cornu: deditque Deus Heman filios quattuordecim, et filias tres.
6 All these were under the hands of their father to sing in the house of the LORD, with cymbals, psalteries, and harps, for the service of the house of God, according to the king’s order to Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman.
Universi sub manu patris sui ad cantandum in templo Domini distributi erant, in cymbalis, et psalteriis, et citharis, in ministeria domus Domini iuxta regem: Asaph videlicet, et Idithun, et Heman.
7 So the number of them, with their brethren that were instructed in the songs of the LORD, even all that were skilful, was two hundred and eighty and eight.
Fuit autem numerus eorum cum fratribus suis, qui erudiebant canticum Domini, cuncti doctores, ducenti octogintaocto.
8 And they cast lots, for their duties, as well the small as the great, the teacher as the scholar.
Miseruntque sortes per vices suas, ex æquo tam maior quam minor, doctus pariter et indoctus.
9 Now the first lot came forth for Asaph to Joseph: the second to Gedaliah, who with his brethren and sons were twelve:
Egressaque est sors prima Ioseph, qui erat de Asaph. Secunda Godoliæ, ipsi et filiis eius, et fratribus eius duodecim.
10 The third to Zaccur, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Tertia Zachur, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
11 The fourth to Izri, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Quarta Isari, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
12 The fifth to Nethaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Quinta Nathaniæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
13 The sixth to Bukkiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Sexta Bocciau, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
14 The seventh to Jesharelah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Septima Isreela, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
15 The eighth to Jeshaiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Octava Iesaiæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
16 The ninth to Mattaniah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Nona Mathaniæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
17 The tenth to Shimei, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Decima Semeiæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
18 The eleventh to Azareel, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Undecima Azareel, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
19 The twelfth to Hashabiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Duodecima Hasabiæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
20 The thirteenth to Shubael, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Tertiadecima Subael, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
21 The fourteenth to Mattithiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Quartadecima Mathathiæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
22 The fifteenth to Jeremoth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Quintadecima Ierimoth, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
23 The sixteenth to Hananiah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Sextadecima Hananiæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
24 The seventeenth to Joshbekashah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Septimadecima Iesbacassæ, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
25 The eighteenth to Hanani, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Octavadecima Hanani, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
26 The nineteenth to Mallothi, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Nonadecima Mellothi, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
27 The twentieth to Eliathah, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Vigesima Eliatha, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
28 The one and twentieth to Hothir, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Vigesima prima Othir, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
29 The two and twentieth to Giddalti, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Vigesima secunda Geddelthi, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
30 The three and twentieth to Mahazioth, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve:
Vigesima tertia Mahazioth, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
31 The four and twentieth to Romamtiezer, he, his sons, and his brethren, were twelve.
Vigesima quarta Romemthiezer, filiis et fratribus eius duodecim.
