< Luke 16 >

1 Jesus also said to the disciples, “There was a certain rich man who had a manager, and it was reported to him that this manager was wasting his possessions.
Jesu akatiwo kuvadzidzi vake, “Kwakanga kuno mumwe murume mupfumi aiva nomutariri akanga achipomerwa mhosva yokuparadza pfuma yake.
2 So the rich man called him and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Give an account of your management, for you can no longer be manager.'
Saka akamudana akamubvunza achiti, ‘Zviiko izvi zvandiri kunzwa pamusoro pako? Zvidavirire pamusoro poutariri hwako, nokuti haungarambi uri mutariri.’
3 The manager said to himself, 'What should I do, since my master is taking away my management job? I do not have strength to dig, and I am ashamed to beg.
“Mutariri akafunga nechomumwoyo make akati, ‘Zvino ndichaiteiko? Tenzi wangu ava kunditorera basa rangu. Handina simba rokurima, uye ndinonyara kupemha;
4 I know what I will do, so that when I am removed from my management job, people will welcome me into their houses.'
ndinoziva zvandichaita kuitira kuti, ndikange ndarasikirwa nebasa rangu pano, vanhu vagondigamuchira mudzimba dzavo.’
5 Then the manager called for each one of his master's debtors, and he asked the first one, 'How much do you owe to my master?'
“Saka akadana mumwe nomumwe akanga ane chikwereti natenzi wake. Akabvunza wokutanga akati, ‘Une chikwereti chakaita sei iwe kuna tenzi wangu?’
6 He said, 'A hundred baths of olive oil.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, sit down quickly, and write fifty.'
“Akapindura achiti, ‘Zviero zana zvamafuta omuorivhi.’ “Mutariri akati kwaari, ‘Tora tsamba yako, ugare pasi nokukurumidza, unyore makumi mashanu.’
7 Then the manager said to another, 'How much do you owe?' He said, 'A hundred cors of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty.'
“Ipapo akabvunza wechipiri akati, ‘Iwe une chikwereti chakadiniko?’ “Akapindura akati, ‘Zviero zana zvegorosi.’ “Akamuudza kuti, ‘Tora tsamba yako unyore makumi masere.’
8 The master then commended the unrighteous manager because he had acted shrewdly. For the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own people than are the children of light. (aiōn g165)
“Tenzi womuranda uyu akarumbidza mutariri asakarurama uyu nokuti akanga aita nokuchenjera. Nokuti vanhu venyika ino vakachenjera kwazvo pakuita kwavo kukunda vana vechiedza. (aiōn g165)
9 I say to you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it is gone, they may welcome you into the eternal dwellings. (aiōnios g166)
Ndinoti kwamuri, ‘Shandisai pfuma yenyika kuti muzviwanire shamwari, kuitira kuti painopera, mugozogamuchirwa mudzimba dzisingaperi.’ (aiōnios g166)
10 He who is faithful in very little is also faithful in much, and he who is unrighteous in very little is also unrighteous in much.
“Ani naani anogona kutendeka pane zvinhu zviduku anogonawo kutendeka pane zvakawanda, uye ani naani asina kutendeka pazvinhu zviduku duku achavawo asina kutendeka pane zvakawanda.
11 If you have not been faithful in using unrighteous wealth, who will trust you with true wealth?
Saka kana manga musina kutendeka paupfumi hwenyika, ndianiko achavimba nemi paupfumi hwechokwadi?
12 If you have not been faithful in using other people's property, who will give you money of your own?
Uye kana wanga usina kutendeka pazvinhu zvomumwe, ndianiko achakupa zvinhu zvako iwe?
13 No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth.”
“Hakuna muranda angagona kushandira vatenzi vaviri. Nokuti achavenga mumwe agoda mumwe, kana kuti achanamatira kuno mumwe uye agozvidza mumwe. Hazvigoni kuti ushandire Mwari nepfuma.”
14 Now the Pharisees, who were lovers of money, heard all these things, and they ridiculed him.
VaFarisi, avo vaida mari vakanzwa zvose izvi vakatuka Jesu uye vakamuseka.
15 He said to them, “You justify yourselves in the sight of men, but God knows your hearts. That which is exalted among men is detestable in the sight of God.
Iye akati kwavari, “Imi munozviruramisira pamberi pavanhu, asi Mwari anoziva mwoyo yenyu. Zvinhu zvinokudzwa pakati pavanhu zvinonyangadza pamberi paMwari.
16 The law and the prophets were in effect until John came. From that time on, the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached, and everyone tries to force their way into it.
“Murayiro navaprofita zvakaparidzwa kusvikira pana Johani. Kubvira panguva iyoyo, vhangeri roumambo hwaMwari riri kuparidzwa, uye mumwe nomumwe anozvimanikidzira kupinda mahuri.
17 But it is easier for heaven and earth to pass away than for one stroke of a letter of the law to become invalid.
Zviri nyore kuti denga nenyika zvipfuure pano kuti kavara kaduku koMurayiro kabviswe.
18 Everyone who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery, and he who marries one who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.
“Ani naani anoramba mukadzi wake akawana mumwe mukadzi anoita upombwe, uye murume anowana mukadzi akarambwa anoita upombwe.
19 Now there was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and was enjoying every day his great wealth.
“Paiva nomumwe murume mupfumi aipfeka nguo dzepepuru nomucheka wakaisvonaka uye aigara upenyu hwakaisvonaka mazuva ose.
20 A certain beggar named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores,
Pasuo rake paigara mupemhi ainzi Razaro, akanga azere namaronda
21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man's table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
uye achipanga hake kudya zvimedu zvaiwa patafura yomupfumi. Kunyange imbwa dzaiuya dzichinanzva maronda ake.
22 It came about that the beggar died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's side. The rich man also died and was buried,
“Nguva yokufa kwomupemhi yakati yasvika vatumwa vakamutora vakamuendesa pachipfuva chaAbhurahama. Mupfumi akafawo akavigwa.
23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus at his side. (Hadēs g86)
Ari mugehena, umo maairwadziwa, akatarisa kumusoro akaona Abhurahama ari kure, naRazaro ari pachipfuva chake. (Hadēs g86)
24 So he cried out and said, 'Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.'
Saka akadanidzira kwaari achiti, ‘Baba Abhurahama, ndinzwirei ngoni mugotuma Razaro kuti anyike muromo womunwe wake mumvura atonhodze rurimi rwangu, nokuti ndiri kurwadziwa kwazvo mumoto muno.’
25 But Abraham said, 'Child, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner evil things. But now he is comforted here, and you are in agony.
“Asi Abhurahama akapindura akati, ‘Mwanakomana, rangarira kuti pamazuva oupenyu hwako wakagamuchira zvinhu zvako zvakanaka, panguva iyoyo Razaro akagamuchira zvinhu zvakaipa, asi zvino ari kunyaradzwa pano, uye iwe uri kurwadziwa.
26 Besides all this, a great chasm has been put in place, so that those who want to cross over from here to you cannot, and no one can cross over from there to us.'
Uye pamusoro paizvozvo zvose, pano mukaha mukuru wakaiswa pakati pedu newe, kuitira kuti vanoda kubva kuno kuti vauye ikoko vakonewe, uye hakuna munhu angayambuka achibva ikoko achiuya kwatiri.’
27 The rich man said, 'I beg you, Father Abraham, that you would send him to my father's house—
“Iye akapindura achiti, ‘Zvino ndinokukumbirai, baba, tumai Razaro kumba kwababa vangu,
28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may warn them, so that it may not be that they come into this place of torment.'
nokuti ndina vanunʼuna vashanu. Ngaaende anovayambira, kuitira kuti naivowo varege kuuya kunzvimbo ino yokurwadziwa.’
29 But Abraham said, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them listen to them.'
“Abhurahama akati, ‘Mozisi navaprofita vanavo; ngavavanzwe.’
30 The rich man replied, 'No, Father Abraham, but if someone would go to them from the dead, they will repent.'
“Iye akati, ‘Kwete, baba Abhurahama, asi kana mumwe akabva kuna vakafa akaenda kwavari, vangatendeuka.’
31 But Abraham said to him, 'If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone rises from the dead.'”
“Iye akati kwaari, ‘Kana vasinganzwi Mozisi navaprofita, havangatendi kunyange dai mumwe akamuka kubva kuvakafa.’”
