Leviticus 20

1 Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

യഹോവ മോശയോട് അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു:

2 “Say to the people of Israel, 'Anyone among the people of Israel, or any foreigner who lives in Israel who gives any of his children to Molech, must certainly be put to death. The people in the land must stone him with stones.

“ഇസ്രായേൽമക്കളോടു പറയുക: ‘ഇസ്രായേല്യരോ ഇസ്രായേലിൽ പാർക്കുന്ന ഏതെങ്കിലും പ്രവാസിയോ തങ്ങളുടെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നിനെയെങ്കിലും മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിച്ചാൽ ആ മനുഷ്യനെ വധിക്കണം. ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം അയാളെ കല്ലെറിയണം.

3 I also will set my face against that man and will cut him off from among his people because he has given his child to Molech, so as to defile my holy place and profane my holy name.

അയാൾ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിച്ച് എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരത്തെ മലിനമാക്കുകയും എന്റെ വിശുദ്ധനാമത്തെ നിന്ദിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനു വിരോധമായി എന്റെ മുഖംതിരിക്കുകയും അയാളെ സ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

4 If the people of the land close their eyes to that man when he gives any of his children to Molech, if they do not put him to death,

ആ മനുഷ്യൻ തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളിലൊന്നിനെ മോലെക്കിനു യാഗമർപ്പിക്കുമ്പോൾ ദേശത്തിലെ ജനം അയാളെ കൊല്ലാതെ കണ്ണടച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ,

5 then I myself will set my face against that man and his clan, and I will cut him off and everyone else who prostitutes himself in order to play the harlot with Molech.

ഞാൻ ആ മനുഷ്യനും അയാളുടെ കുടുംബത്തിനും വിരോധമായി മുഖംതിരിച്ച് അയാളെയും മോലെക്കിനോടു പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്ന എല്ലാവരെയും അവരുടെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയും.

6 The person who turns to those who talk with the dead, or to those who talk with spirits so as to prostitute themselves with them, I will set my face against that person; I will cut him off from among his people.

“‘വെളിച്ചപ്പാടുകളിലേക്കും ഭൂതസേവക്കാരിലേക്കും തിരിഞ്ഞ് അവരെ അനുഗമിക്കുന്നതിലൂടെ പരസംഗം ചെയ്യുന്നവർക്കെതിരേ ഞാൻ മുഖംതിരിക്കുകയും സ്വജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് അവരെ ഛേദിച്ചുകളയുകയും ചെയ്യും.

7 Therefore consecrate yourselves and be holy, because I am Yahweh your God.

“‘ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ആയതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ച് വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കുക.

8 You must keep my commands and carry them out. I am Yahweh who sets you apart as holy.

എന്റെ ഉത്തരവുകൾ പ്രമാണിച്ചു നടക്കുക. ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ വിശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യഹോവ ആകുന്നു.

9 Everyone who curses his father or his mother must surely be put to death. He has cursed his father or his mother, so he is guilty and deserves to die.

“‘പിതാവിനെയോ മാതാവിനെയോ ശപിക്കുന്നയാൾ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. അയാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിനെയോ മാതാവിനെയോ ശപിച്ചതുകൊണ്ട്; ആ കുറ്റത്തിന്റെ രക്തം അയാളുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

10 The man who commits adultery with another man's wife, that is, anyone who commits adultery with his neighbor's wife—the adulterer and the adulteress must both certainly be put to death.

“‘മറ്റൊരാളിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായി—തന്റെ അയൽക്കാരന്റെ ഭാര്യയുമായിത്തന്നെ—ഒരാൾ വ്യഭിചാരം ചെയ്താൽ, വ്യഭിചാരിയെയും വ്യഭിചാരിണിയെയും വധിക്കണം.

11 If a man lies with his father's wife, he uncovers his father's nakedness. Both the son and his father's wife must certainly be put to death. Their blood is upon them.

“‘ഒരാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ ഭാര്യയുടെകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അയാൾ തന്റെ പിതാവിനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു; അവർ ഇരുവരും മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

12 If a man sleeps with his daughter-in-law, both of them must certainly be put to death. They have committed perversion. They are guilty and deserve to die.

“‘ഒരാൾ തന്റെ മരുമകളുടെകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അവരെ രണ്ടുപേരെയും കൊല്ലണം. അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തി നികൃഷ്ടം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

13 If a man sleeps with another man, as with a woman, both of them have done something detestable. They must surely be put to death. They are guilty and deserve to die.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ സ്ത്രീയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെ പുരുഷൻ പുരുഷനോടുകൂടെ കിടക്കപങ്കിട്ടാൽ, അവർ രണ്ടുപേരും അറപ്പായതു പ്രവർത്തിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. അവരെ കൊല്ലണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

14 If a man marries a woman and also marries her mother, this is wickedness. They must be burned, both he and the women, so that there will be no wickedness among you.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയെയും അവളുടെ മാതാവിനെയും വിവാഹംകഴിച്ചാൽ, അതു ദുഷ്ടതയാണ്. നിങ്ങളുടെ മധ്യത്തിൽ ദുഷ്ടത ഇല്ലാതെയിരിക്കാൻ അയാളെയും ആ സ്ത്രീകളെയും തീയിൽ ദഹിപ്പിക്കണം.

15 If a man sleeps with an animal, he must surely be put to death, and you must kill the animal.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഒരു മൃഗവുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ അയാളെ കൊല്ലണം, ആ മൃഗത്തെയും കൊല്ലണം.

16 If a woman approaches any animal to sleep with it, you must kill the woman and the animal. They must certainly be put to death. They are guilty and deserve to die.

“‘ഒരു മൃഗത്തോടൊപ്പം ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന് ഒരു സ്ത്രീ അതിനെ സമീപിച്ചാൽ ആ സ്ത്രീയെയും മൃഗത്തെയും കൊല്ലണം. അവർ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.

17 If a man sleeps with his sister, a daughter of his father or a daughter of his mother, and he uncovers her nakedness, and she sees his nakedness, it is a shameful thing. They must be cut off from the presence of their people, because he has slept with his sister. He must carry his guilt.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെയോ മാതാവിന്റെയോ മകളായ തന്റെ സഹോദരിയെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുകയും അവർ പരസ്പരം ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്താൽ അതു നിന്ദ്യം. അവരെ അവരുടെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കണ്മുന്നിൽവെച്ചുതന്നെ വധിക്കണം. അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരിയെ അപമാനിച്ചു, അവൻ കുറ്റക്കാരനായിരിക്കും.

18 If a man sleeps with a woman during her menstrual period and has slept with her, he has uncovered the flow of her blood, the source of her blood. Both the man and woman must be cut off from among their people.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ ഋതുമതിയായ ഒരു സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ, അവൻ അവളുടെ സ്രവത്തിന്റെ ഉറവിടം അനാവൃതമാക്കി; അവളും അത് അനാവൃതമാക്കി. അവർ രണ്ടുപേരെയും അവരുടെ ജനത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഛേദിച്ചുകളയണം.

19 You must not sleep with your mother's sister, or with your father's sister, because you would disgrace your close relative. You must carry your own guilt.

“‘നിന്റെ മാതാവിന്റെയോ പിതാവിന്റെയോ സഹോദരിയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെടരുത്, അത് അടുത്ത ബന്ധുക്കാരിയെ അപമാനിക്കലാണ്, നിങ്ങൾ ഇരുവരും കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും.

20 If a man sleeps with his aunt, he has dishonored his uncle. They will bear responsibility for their sin, and they will die without children.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ അമ്മായിയുമായി ലൈംഗികബന്ധത്തിലേർപ്പെട്ടാൽ അവൻ തന്റെ ഇളയപ്പനെ അപമാനിച്ചു. അവർ കുറ്റക്കാരായിരിക്കും. അവർ സന്താനരഹിതരായി മരിക്കണം.

21 If a man marries his brother's wife while his brother is still living, that is disgraceful. He has dishonored his brother, and I will take away from their children any property they may have inherited from their parents.

“‘ഒരു പുരുഷൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരന്റെ ഭാര്യയെ വിവാഹംകഴിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ, അത് ഒരു മലിനപ്രവൃത്തി; അയാൾ തന്റെ സഹോദരനെ അപമാനിച്ചു. അവർ സന്തതിയില്ലാത്തവർ ആയിരിക്കണം.

22 You must therefore keep all my statutes and all my decrees; you must obey them so that the land into which I am bringing you to live will not vomit you up.

“‘നിങ്ങൾക്കു വസിക്കാനായി ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന ദേശം നിങ്ങളെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന് എന്റെ എല്ലാ ഉത്തരവുകളും നിയമങ്ങളും പാലിച്ച് അവ അനുവർത്തിക്കുക.

23 You must not walk in the customs of the nations that I will drive out before you, for they have done all these things, and I detest them.

ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളുടെമുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് ഓടിച്ചുകളയുന്ന ജനതയുടെ ആചാരരീതികൾ അനുസരിച്ചു ജീവിക്കരുത്. അവർ ഇവയൊക്കെ ചെയ്തതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ അവരെ കഠിനമായി വെറുക്കുന്നു.

24 I said to you, “You will inherit their land; I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey. I am Yahweh your God, who has separated you from the other peoples.

എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു, “നിങ്ങൾ അവരുടെ ദേശം കൈവശമാക്കും; പാലും തേനും ഒഴുകുന്ന ആ ദേശം ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അവകാശമായിത്തരും.” ജനതകളിൽനിന്നു നിങ്ങളെ വേർതിരിച്ച ദൈവമായ യഹോവ ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു.

25 You must therefore distinguish between the clean animals and the unclean, and between the unclean birds and the clean. You must not defile yourselves with unclean animals or birds or with any creature that crawls along the ground, which I have separated as unclean from you.

“‘നിങ്ങൾ അതുകൊണ്ടു ശുദ്ധവും അശുദ്ധവുമായ മൃഗങ്ങൾതമ്മിലും ശുദ്ധവും അശുദ്ധവുമായ പക്ഷികൾതമ്മിലും വേർതിരിക്കണം. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് അശുദ്ധമായി ഞാൻ മാറ്റിയിട്ടുള്ള ഏതൊരു മൃഗത്താലോ പക്ഷിയാലോ നിലത്തു ചരിക്കുന്ന യാതൊന്നിനാലുമോ നിങ്ങളെത്തന്നെ അശുദ്ധരാക്കരുത്.

26 You must be holy, for I, Yahweh, am holy, and I have separated you from the other peoples, for you belong to me.

യഹോവയായ ഞാൻ വിശുദ്ധനായതുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങൾ എനിക്കു വിശുദ്ധരായിരിക്കണം. എനിക്കു സ്വന്തമായിരിക്കേണ്ടതിനു നിങ്ങളെ ഞാൻ ഇതര ജനതകളിൽനിന്ന് വേർതിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

27 A man or a woman who talks with the dead or who talks with spirits must certainly be put to death. The people must stone them with stones. They are guilty and deserve to die.'”

“‘നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ വെളിച്ചപ്പാടുകളോ ഭൂതസേവക്കാരോ ആയ സ്ത്രീപുരുഷന്മാർ ഉണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവർ മരണശിക്ഷ അനുഭവിക്കണം. നിങ്ങൾ അവരെ കല്ലെറിയണം; അവരുടെ രക്തം അവരുടെ തലമേലിരിക്കും.’”
