Deuteronomy 8
1 You must keep all the commands that I am giving you today, so that you may live and multiply, and go in and possess the land that Yahweh swore to your fathers.
১আজি মই আপোনালোকক যি আজ্ঞা দিছো, সেই সকলো আজ্ঞা আপোনালোকে মানি চলিব যাতে আপোনালোক জীয়াই থাকি সংখ্যাত বৃদ্ধি পায় আৰু যিহোৱাই আপোনালোকৰ পূৰ্ব-পুৰুষসকলৰ আগত যি দেশ দিম বুলি শপত কৰিছিল, সেই দেশত প্রৱেশ কৰি অধিকাৰ কৰিব পাৰে।
2 You will call to mind all the ways that Yahweh your God has led you these forty years in the wilderness, in order that he might humble you, that he might test you to know what was in your heart, as to whether you would keep his commandments or not.
২আপোনালোকে অৱশ্যেই মনত ৰখা উচিত, যে ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই চল্লিশ বছৰলৈকে মৰুপ্রান্তৰত আপোনালোকক নেতৃত্ব দি পৰিচালিত কৰিছিল। তেওঁ আপোনালোকক নম্র কৰিবলৈ আৰু আপোনালোকে যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা মানি চলিব নে নাই তাক পৰীক্ষা কৰি জানিবলৈ তেওঁ এই কার্য কৰিছিল।
3 He humbled you, and made you hunger, and fed you with manna, which you had not known and which your fathers had not known. He did that to make you know that it is not by bread alone that people live; rather, it is by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of Yahweh that people live.
৩ভোকত কষ্ট দি আৰু যি মান্নাৰ কথা আপোনালোকে আৰু আপোনালোকৰ পূর্বপূৰুষসকলে জনা নাছিল তাক খোৱাই যিহোৱাই আপোনালোকক নম্র কৰিছিল। এই কার্যবোৰৰ দ্বাৰাই তেওঁ আপোনালোকক জনাব বিচাৰিছিল যে, মানুহ কেৱল পিঠাৰে নিজীয়ে, কিন্তু মানুহৰ জীৱন যিহোৱাই কোৱা বাক্যৰ দ্বাৰাইহে জীয়ে।
4 Your clothing did not wear out and fall off you, and your feet did not swell up during those forty years.
৪এই চল্লিশ বছৰত, আপোনালোকৰ গাৰ কাপোৰ ফাটি যোৱা নাছিল আৰু আপোনালোকৰ ভৰিও ফুলা নাছিল।
5 You will think about in your heart, how, as a man disciplines his son, so Yahweh your God disciplines you.
৫এই কথা আপোনালোকে অৱশ্যেই মনত ৰখা উচিত যে বাপেকে যেনেকৈ নিজ পুতেকক শাসন কৰে, ঠিক তেনেকৈয়ে আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱায়ো আপোনালোকক শাসন কৰিব।
6 You will keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, so that you might walk in his ways and honor him.
৬আপোনালোকে ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ আজ্ঞা পালন কৰিব, তেওঁৰ পথত চলিব আৰু তেওঁক ভয় কৰিব।
7 For Yahweh your God is bringing you into a good land, a land of brooks of water, of fountains and springs, flowing out into valleys and among hills;
৭কিয়নো আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই এখন উত্তম দেশলৈ আপোনালোকক লৈ গৈছে; সেই দেশ পাহাৰ আৰু উপত্যকাৰ মাজেদি বৈ যোৱা জলৰ সোঁত আৰু জুৰি থকা দেশ; মাটিৰ তলত ওলোৱা পানীৰ ভুমুকৰ দেশ।
8 a land of wheat and barley, of vines, fig trees, and pomegranates; a land of olive trees and honey.
৮সেই দেশ ঘেহুঁ ধান আৰু যৱ ধান উৎপন্ন হোৱা দেশ, আৰু দ্ৰাক্ষালতা, ডিমৰু, ডালিম গছ থকা দেশ, জিত গছ আৰু মৌ উৎপন্ন হোৱা দেশ।
9 It is a land in which you will eat bread without lack, and where you will not go without anything; a land whose stones are made of iron, and out of whose hills you may dig copper.
৯সেই দেশত আপোনালোকে অভাৱত নপৰাকৈ আহাৰ খাবলৈ পাব আৰু আপোনালোকৰ প্রয়োজনীয় সকলো বস্তুয়েই আপোনালোকে পাব। সেই ঠাইৰ শিলবোৰ লোহাৰ আৰু সেই ঠাইৰ পাহাৰবোৰৰ পৰা আপোনালোকে খনন কৰি তাম পাব।
10 You will eat and be full, and you will bless Yahweh your God for the good land that he has given you.
১০আপোনালোকে তাত ভোজন কৰি তৃপ্ত হ’ব আৰু আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাই দিয়া উত্তম দেশৰ কাৰণে তেওঁৰ ধন্যবাদ কৰিব।
11 Be careful that you do not forget Yahweh your God, and that you do not neglect his commandments, his ordinances, and his statutes that I am commanding you today,
১১আপোনালোক সাৱধান হ’ব; আজি মই আপোনালোকক তেওঁৰ যি সকলো আজ্ঞা, নির্দেশ আৰু শাসন-প্রণালীবোৰ দিছো, সেইবোৰ যেন অমান্য কৰি আপোনালোকে আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাক পাহৰি নাযাব।
12 otherwise, when you eat and are full, and when you build good houses and live in them, your heart will be lifted up.
১২অন্যথা, এনেকুৱা নহওঁক যে আপোনালোকে ভোজন কৰি তৃপ্ত হ’ব আৰু সুন্দৰ ঘৰ সাজি তাত বাস কৰিব।
13 Be careful when your herds and flocks multiply and when your silver and gold increase, and all that you have is multiplied,
১৩যেতিয়া আপোনালোকৰ গৰু-ছাগলী, মেৰ-ছাগ জাকৰ বৃদ্ধি পাব, আপোনালোকৰ অধিক সোণ ৰূপ হব আৰু আপোনালোকৰ সকলো সম্পত্তি বৃদ্ধি পাব,
14 then your heart becomes lifted up and you forget Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
১৪তেতিয়া আপোনালোকৰ হৃদয় অহংকাৰী হৈ উঠিব আৰু যি জনে আপোনালোকক মিচৰ দেশৰ বন্দীগৃহৰ পৰা উলিয়াই আনিলে আপোনালোকৰ সেই ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাক আপোনালোকে পাহৰি যাব।
15 Do not forget him who led you through the great and terrifying wilderness, with its fiery serpents and scorpions and thirsty ground where there was no water, who brought you water out of the rock of flint.
১৫তেওঁ আপোনালোকক শুকান, জলহীন, বিষাক্ত সাপ আৰু কেকোঁৰাবিছা ভৰা বিশাল আৰু ভয়ানক মৰুপ্রান্তৰৰ মাজেদি যিহোৱাই আপোনালোকক লৈ আনিলে। সেই ভয়ানক মৰুপ্রান্তৰত বহুতো বিষাক্ত সাপ আৰু কেকোঁৰাবিছা আছিল। তেওঁ কঠিন শিলৰ পৰা আপোনালোকৰ কাৰণে পানী বাহিৰ কৰি উলিয়াইছিল।
16 He fed you in the wilderness with manna that your ancestors had never known, so that he might humble you and test you, to do you good in the end,
১৬তেওঁ সেই মৰুভূমিত আপোনালোক মান্না খাবলৈ দিছিল - যিটো আপোনালোকৰ পূর্বপুৰুষসকলে কেতিয়াও দেখা নাছিল। যিহোৱাই আপোনালোকক পৰীক্ষা কৰিবৰ কাৰণে আৰু নম্র কৰিবৰ কাৰণে তেওঁ এইদৰে কৰিছিল যাতে শেষত আপোনালোকৰ সকলো ভাল হয়।
17 but you may say in your heart, 'My power and the might of my hand acquired all this wealth.'
১৭আপোনালোকে হয়তো মনতে ক’ব পাৰে, “মোৰ নিজৰ শক্তিত আৰু নিজৰ হাতৰ কর্মৰেহে এই ধন-সম্পত্তি পালোঁ।”
18 But you will call to mind Yahweh your God, for it is he who gives you the power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is today.
১৮কিন্তু আপোনালোকে আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাক সোঁৱৰণ কৰিব; কিয়নো তেওঁৱেই আপোনালোকক এই সম্পত্তি লাভ কৰিবলৈ সামর্থ কৰিলে, আৰু আপোনালোকৰ পূৰ্ব-পুৰুষসকলৰ আগত যি নিয়মৰ শপত খাই কৈছিলে, তেওঁ তাক এতিয়া পূর্ণ কৰিছে।
19 It will happen that, if you will forget Yahweh your God and walk after other gods, worship them, and reverence them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish.
১৯আপোনালোকে যদি কেতিয়াবা আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাক পাহৰি গৈ আন দেৱতাবোৰৰ পাছত চলে আৰু সেইবোৰৰ সেৱা-পূজা কৰে, তেন্তে আজি মই আপোনালোকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে এই কথা নিশ্চয় কৰি কৈছো যে, আপোনালোক ধ্বংস হৈ যাব।
20 Like the nations that Yahweh is making to perish before you, so will you perish, because you would not listen to the voice of Yahweh your God.
২০আপোনালোকৰ সন্মুখত যিহোৱাই যি সকলো জাতিক বিনষ্ট কৰিছে, আপোনালোকে আপোনালোকৰ ঈশ্বৰ যিহোৱাৰ বাক্য নুশুনিলে তেনেদৰেই বিনষ্ট হ’ব।
