Romans 2
1 Therfore arte thou inexcusable o man whosoever thou be yt iudgest. For in ye same wherin thou iudgest another thou condemnest thy selfe. For thou that iudgest doest eve the same selfe thinges
Basi, rafiki, kama unawahukumu wengine, huwezi kamwe kujitetea haidhuru wewe ni nani. Kwa maana, kwa kuwahukumu wengine, unajilaani wewe mwenyewe kwa vile nawe unayafanya mambo yaleyale unayohukumu.
2 But we are sure that the iudgement of God is accordinge to trueth agaynst them which commit soche thinges.
Tunajua kwamba hukumu ya Mungu kwa wale wanaofanya mambo kama hayo ni hukumu ya haki.
3 Thikest thou this O thou ma that iudgest them which do soche thinges and yet doest eve the very same yt thou shalt escape ye iudgemet of God?
Lakini wewe, rafiki, unayewahukumu wale wanaofanya mambo kama hayo bali wewe pia unayafanya, je unadhani utaiepa hukumu ya Mungu?
4 Ether despisest thou the riches of his goodnes paciece and longe sufferaunce? and remembrest not how that the kyndnes of God ledith the to repentaunce?
Au labda unaudharau wema wake mkuu, uvumilivu wake na saburi yake, bila kutambua kwamba wema wake huo una shabaha ya kukuongoza upate kutubu?
5 But thou after thyne harde herte yt canot repet heapest ye togedder the treasure of wrath agaynste the daye of vengeauce when shalbe opened ye rightewes iudgemet of god
Lakini unao ugumu na ukaidi wa moyo, na hivyo unajilundikia adhabu kwa Siku ile ambayo ghadhabu ya Mungu na hukumu zake za haki vitadhihirishwa.
6 which will rewarde every ma accordinge to his dedes:
Siku hiyo Mungu atamlipa kila mmoja kufuatana na matendo yake.
7 that is to saye prayse honoure and immortalite to them which cotinue in good doynge and seke eternall lyfe. (aiōnios g166)
Wale wanaozingatia kutenda mema, kutafuta utukufu na heshima ya Mungu na kutokufa, watapata uzima wa milele. (aiōnios g166)
8 But vnto them that are rebellious and disobey the trueth yet folowe iniquytie shall come indignacion and wrath
Lakini wale wengine wenye ubinafsi, wenye kukataa mambo ya haki na kufuata uovu, wataangukiwa na ghadhabu na hasira ya Mungu.
9 tribulacion and anguysshe vpon the soule of every man that doth evyll: of the Iewe fyrst and also of the gentyll.
Mateso na maumivu yatampata binadamu yeyote atendaye uovu. Yatawapata Wayahudi kwanza, na watu wa mataifa mengine pia.
10 To every man that doth good shall come prayse honoure and peace to ye Iewe fyrst and also to the gentyll.
Lakini Mungu atawapa utukufu, heshima na amani wale wanaotenda mema; Wayahudi kwanza, na watu wa mataifa mengine pia.
11 For ther is no parcialyte with god. But whosoever hath synned with out lawe shall perisshe wt out lawe.
Maana Mungu hambagui mtu yeyote.
12 And as many as haue synned vnder the lawe shalbe iudged by the lawe.
Wale wanaotenda dhambi bila kuijua Sheria ya Mose wataangamia ingawaje hawajui Sheria. Na wale wanaotenda dhambi wakiwa wanaijua Sheria watahukumiwa kisheria.
13 For before god they are not ryghteous which heare ye lawe: but the doers of the lawe shalbe iustified.
Mtu hafanywi kuwa mwadilifu mbele yake Mungu kwa kuisikia Sheria, bali kwa kuitii Sheria.
14 For if the gentyls which have no lawe do of nature the thynges contayned in the lawe: then they havynge no lawe are a lawe vnto them selves
Mathalan: watu wa mataifa mengine hawana Sheria ya Mose; lakini kila wanapotimiza matakwa ya Sheria wakiongozwa na dhamiri zao, wao wenyewe wanakuwa kipimo cha Sheria ingawa hawaijui Sheria.
15 which shewe the dede of the lawe wrytten in their hertes: whyll their conscience beareth witnes vnto them and also their thoughtes accusynge one another or excusynge
Mwenendo wao unaonyesha kwamba matakwa ya Sheria yameandikwa mioyoni mwao. Dhamiri zao zinashuhudia pia jambo hilo, maana fikira zao mara nyingine huwashtaki, na mara nyingine huwatetea.
16 at the daye when god shall iudge the secretes of men by Iesus Christ accordinge to my Gospell.
Hivyo, kufuatana na hii Habari Njema ninayohubiri, ndivyo itakavyokuwa wakati Mungu atakapohukumu mambo ya siri ya binadamu kwa njia ya Yesu Kristo.
17 Beholde thou arte called a Iewe and trustest in the lawe and reioysist in God
Na wewe, je? Wewe mwenyewe unajiita Myahudi; unaitumainia Sheria na kujivunia kuwa wa Mungu;
18 and knowest his will and hast experience of good and bad in that thou arte informed by the lawe:
kwa njia ya Sheria unajua matakwa ya Mungu na unaweza kuchagua jambo jema;
19 and belevest that thou thy silfe arte a gyde vnto the blynde a lyght to them which are in darcknes
wewe unajiona kuwa kiongozi wa vipofu na mwanga kwa wale walio gizani;
20 an informer of them which lacke discrecio a teacher of vnlearned which hast the ensample of that which ought to be knowen and of the truth in the lawe.
unajiona kuwa mkufunzi wa wajinga na mwalimu wa wale wasiokomaa bado. Unayo katika Sheria picha kamili ya elimu na ukweli.
21 But thou which teachest another teachest not thy selfe. Thou preachest a man shuld not steale: and yet thou stealest.
Basi, wewe unawafundisha wengine; kwa nini hujifundishi wewe mwenyewe? Unawahubiria wengine wasiibe, lakini kumbe wewe mwenyewe unaiba.
22 Thou sayst a man shuld not commit advoutry: and thou breakest wedlocke. Thou abhorrest ymages and robbest God of his honoure.
Unasema: “Msizini,” na huku wewe unazini; unachukia sanamu za miungu hali wewe unajitajirisha kwa kuiba katika nyumba za miungu.
23 Thou reioysest in the lawe and thorow breakinge the lawe dishonourest God.
Kwa kujigamba ati unayo Sheria ya Mungu, je huoni kwamba kwa kuivunja Sheria unamdharau Mungu?
24 For the name of god is evyll spoken of amonge the Gentyls thorowe you as it is written.
Kama vile Maandiko Matakatifu yasemavyo: “Watu wa mataifa mengine wamelikufuru jina la Mungu kwa sababu yenu ninyi Wayahudi!”
25 Circumcisio verely avayleth if thou kepe the lawe. But if thou breake the lawe thy circumcision is made vncircumcision.
Kutahiriwa kwako kutakuwa na maana kama ukiitii Sheria. Lakini kama unaivunja Sheria, basi, ni afadhali ungalibaki bila kutahiriwa.
26 Therfore if the vncircumcised kepe the ryght thinges contayned in the lawe: shall not his vncircumcision be counted for circumcision?
Kama mtu wa mataifa mengine ambaye hakutahiriwa akitimiza matakwa ya Sheria, hakika atafikiriwa kana kwamba ametahiriwa.
27 And shall not vncircumcision which is by nature (yf it kepe the lawe) iudge the which beynge vnder the letter and circumcision dost transgresse the lawe?
Watu wa mataifa mengine watakuhukumu wewe Myahudi kama ukiivunja Sheria, ingawaje unayo maandishi ya Sheria na umetahiriwa, hali wao wanaitii Sheria ingawa hawakutahiriwa.
28 For he is not a Iewe which is a Iewe out warde. Nether is that thynge circumcision which is outwarde in the flesshe.
Ndiyo kusema, si kila anayeonekana kwa nje kuwa Myahudi ni Myahudi wa kweli, wala mtu hawi Myahudi wa kweli ati kwa kuwa ametahiriwa kimwili.
29 But he is a Iewe which is hid wythin and the circucisio of ye herte is the true circumcision which is in the sprete and not in ye letter whose prayse is not of men but of god.
Myahudi wa kweli ni yule aliye Myahudi kwa ndani, yaani yule ambaye ametahiriwa moyoni. Hili ni jambo la Roho, na si jambo la maandishi ya Sheria. Mtu wa namna hiyo anapata sifa, si kutoka kwa watu, bali kutoka kwa Mungu.
