Matthew 1
1 This is the boke of the generacion of Iesus Christ the sonne of Dauid the sonne also of Abraham.
Yesu Kristo alikuwa mzawa wa Daudi, mzawa wa Abrahamu. Hii ndiyo orodha ya ukoo wake:
2 Abraham begat Isaac: Isaac begat Iacob: Iacob begat Iudas and his brethren:
Abrahamu alimzaa Isaka, Isaka alimzaa Yakobo, Yakobo alimzaa Yuda na ndugu zake,
3 Iudas begat Phares and zaram of Thamar: Phares begat Hesrom: Hesrom begat Aram:
Yuda alimzaa Faresi na Zera (mama yao alikuwa Tamari), Faresi alimzaa Hesroni, Hesroni alimzaa Rami,
4 Aram begat Aminadab: Aminadab begat Naasson: Naasson begat Salmon:
Rami alimzaa Aminadabu, Aminadabu alimzaa Nashoni, Nashoni alimzaa Salmoni,
5 Salmon begat Boos of Rahab: Boos begat Obed of Ruth: Obed begat Iesse:
Salmoni alimzaa Boazi (mama yake Boazi alikuwa Rahabu). Boazi na Ruthi walikuwa wazazi wa Obedi, Obedi alimzaa Yese,
6 Iesse begat Dauid the kynge: Dauid the kynge begat Salomon of her that was the wyfe of Vry:
naye Yese alimzaa Mfalme Daudi. Daudi alimzaa Solomoni (mama yake Solomoni alikuwa mke wa Uria).
7 Salomon begat Roboam: Roboam begat Abia: Abia begat Asa:
Solomoni alimzaa Rehoboamu, Rehoboamu alimzaa Abiya, Abiya alimzaa Asa,
8 Asa begat Iosaphat: Iosaphat begat Ioram: Ioram begat Osias:
Asa alimzaa Yehoshafati, Yehoshafati alimzaa Yoramu, Yoramu alimzaa Uzia,
9 Osias begat Ioatham: Ioatham begat Achas: Achas begat Ezechias:
Uzia alimzaa Yothamu, Yothamu alimzaa Ahazi, Ahazi alimzaa Hezekia,
10 Ezechias begat Manasses: Manasses begat Amon: Amon begat Iosias:
Hezekia alimzaa Manase, Manase alimzaa Amoni, Amoni alimzaa Yosia,
11 Iosias begat Iechonias and his brethren aboute ye tyme they were caryed awaye to Babylon.
Yosia alimzaa Yekonia na ndugu zake. Huo ulikuwa wakati Wayahudi walipopelekwa uhamishoni Babuloni.
12 And after they were brought to Babylon Iechonias begat Salathiel: Salathiel begat Zorobabel:
Baada ya Wayahudi kupelekwa uhamishomi Babuloni: Yekonia alimzaa Shealtieli, Shealtieli alimzaa Zerobabeli,
13 Zorobabel begat Abiud: Abiud begat Eliachim: Eliachim begat Azor:
Zerobabeli alimzaa Abiudi, Abiudi alimzaa Eliakimu, Eliakimu alimzaa Azori,
14 Azor begat Sadoc: Sadoc begat Achin: Achin begat Eliud:
Azori alimzaa Zadoki, Zadoki alimzaa Akimu, Akimu alimzaa Eliudi,
15 Eliud begat Eleasar: Eleasar begat Matthan: Matthan begat Iacob:
Eliudi alimzaa Eleazeri, Eleazeri alimzaa Mathani, Mathani alimzaa Yakobo,
16 Iacob begat Ioseph the husbande of Mary of which was boren that Iesus that is called Christ.
Yakobo alimzaa Yosefu, aliyekuwa mume wake Maria, mama yake Yesu, aitwaye Kristo.
17 All the generacions from Abraham to David are fowretene generacios. And fro David vnto the captivite of Babylon are fowretene generacions. And from the captivite of Babylon vnto Christ are also fowrtene generacios.
Basi, kulikuwa na vizazi kumi na vinne tangu Abrahamu mpaka Daudi, vizazi kumi na vinne tangu Daudi mpaka Wayahudi walipochukuliwa mateka Babuloni, na vizazi kumi na vinne tangu kuchukuliwa mateka mpaka wakati wa Kristo.
18 The byrthe of Iesus Christ was on thys wyse. When hys mother Mary was betrouthed to Ioseph before they came to dwell to gedder she was foude with chylde by ye holy goost.
Basi, hivi ndivyo Yesu Kristo alivyozaliwa: Maria, mama yake, alikuwa ameposwa na Yosefu. Lakini kabla hawajakaa pamoja kama mume na mke, alionekana kuwa mja mzito kwa uwezo wa Roho Mtakatifu.
19 The Ioseph her husbande beinge a perfect ma and loth to make an ensample of hir was mynded to put her awaye secretely.
Yosefu, mumewe, kwa vile alikuwa mwadilifu, hakutaka kumwaibisha hadharani; hivyo alikusudia kumwacha kwa siri.
20 Whill he thus thought behold ye angell of ye Lorde appered vnto him in a dreame saynge: Ioseph ye sonne of David feare not to take vnto ye Mary thy wyfe. For that which is coceaved in her is of the holy goost.
Alipokuwa bado anawaza jambo hilo, malaika wa Bwana alimtokea katika ndoto, akamwambia, “Yosefu, mwana wa Daudi, usiogope kumchukua Maria awe mke wako, maana amekuwa mja mzito kwa uwezo wa Roho Mtakatifu.
21 She shall brynge forthe a sonne and thou shalt call his name Iesus. For he shall save his peple from their synnes.
Atajifungua mtoto wa kiume, nawe utampa jina Yesu, kwa kuwa yeye atawaokoa watu wake kutoka katika dhambi zao.”
22 All this was done to fulfill yt which was spoken of the Lorde by the Prophet saynge:
Basi, haya yote yalitukia ili litimie lile neno Bwana alilosema kwa njia ya nabii:
23 Beholde a mayde shall be with chylde and shall brynge forthe a sonne and they shall call his name Emanuel which is by interpretacion God with vs.
“Bikira atachukua mimba, atamzaa mtoto wa kiume, naye ataitwa Emanueli” (maana yake, “Mungu yu pamoja nasi”).
24 And Ioseph assone as he awoke out of slepe did as the angell of the Lorde bade hym and toke hys wyfe vnto hym
Hivyo, Yosefu alipoamka usingizini alifanya kama malaika huyo alivyomwambia, akamchukua mke wake nyumbani.
25 and knewe her not tyll she had brought forth hir fyrst sonne and called hys name Iesus.
Lakini hakumjua kamwe kimwili hata Maria alipojifungua mtoto wa kiume. Naye Yosefu akampa jina Yesu.
