Mark 1
1 The beginnynge of the Gospell of Iesu Christ the sonne of God
ദൈവപുത്രനായ യേശുക്രിസ്തുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള സുവിശേഷത്തിന്റെ ആരംഭം:
2 as yt is wrytten in the Prophetes: beholde I sende my messenger before thy face which shall prepared thy waye before ye.
യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ തന്റെ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ, “ഇതാ ഞാൻ നിനക്കുമുമ്പാകെ എന്റെ സന്ദേശവാഹകനെ അയയ്ക്കും; അയാൾ നിനക്കു വഴിയൊരുക്കും.” എന്നും
3 The voyce of a cryer in the wildernes: prepare ye the waye of the Lorde make his paches streyght.
“‘കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴിയൊരുക്കുക; അവിടത്തേക്കുവേണ്ടി പാത നേരേയാക്കുക’ എന്ന് മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളംബരംചെയ്യുന്ന ഒരുവന്റെ ശബ്ദമാണിത്!” എന്ന് എഴുതിയിരുന്നതുപോലെ,
4 Iohn dyd baptise in the wyldernes and preche the baptyme of repentauce for the remission of synnes.
ഈ ശബ്ദമായി യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ വന്നു! അദ്ദേഹം മരുഭൂമിയിൽവെച്ച് ജനത്തോട്, അവർ അവരുടെ പാപങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു പശ്ചാത്തപിച്ച് അവയുടെ മോചനത്തിനായി ദൈവത്തിലേക്കു തിരിയണം എന്നും; ഇതിന്റെ തെളിവിനായി സ്നാനം സ്വീകരിക്കണം എന്നും പ്രസംഗിച്ചു.
5 And all the londe of Iurie and they of Ierusalem went out vnto him and were all baptised of him in the ryver Iordan confessynge their synnes.
യെഹൂദ്യഗ്രാമങ്ങളിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തുനിന്നും ജെറുശലേമിൽനിന്നുമെല്ലാം ജനം യോഹന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കൽ എത്തി. തങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങൾ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞവരെ അദ്ദേഹം യോർദാൻനദിയിൽ സ്നാനപ്പെടുത്തി.
6 Iohn was clothed with cammylles heer and with a gerdyll of a skyn a bout hys loynes. And he dyd eate locustes and wylde hony
യോഹന്നാൻ ഒട്ടകരോമംകൊണ്ടുള്ള കുപ്പായവും തുകൽ അരപ്പട്ടയും ധരിച്ചിരുന്നു. വെട്ടുക്കിളിയും കാട്ടുതേനുമായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഭക്ഷണം.
7 and preached sayinge: a stronger then I commeth after me whose shue latchet I am not worthy to stoupe doune and vnlose.
അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം ഇതായിരുന്നു: “എന്നെക്കാൾ ശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ഒരാൾ എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നു; അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറ് കുനിഞ്ഞഴിക്കുന്ന ഒരു അടിമയാകാൻപോലും എനിക്കു യോഗ്യതയില്ല.
8 I have baptised you with water: but he shall baptise you with the holy goost.
ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്ക് ജലസ്നാനം നൽകുന്നു; എന്നാൽ, അദ്ദേഹം നിങ്ങൾക്ക് പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവുകൊണ്ട് സ്നാനം നൽകും.”
9 And yt came to passe in those dayes that Iesus cam from Nazareth a cyte of Galile: and was baptised of Iohn in Iordan.
ഏറെ താമസിക്കാതെ ഒരു ദിവസം യേശു ഗലീലാപ്രവിശ്യയിലെ നസറെത്ത് പട്ടണത്തിൽനിന്ന് യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തേക്കു വന്നു. യോഹന്നാൻ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ യോർദാൻനദിയിൽ സ്നാനപ്പെടുത്തി.
10 And assone as he was come out of the water Iohn sawe heaven open and the holy goost descendinge vpon him lyke a dove.
യേശു വെള്ളത്തിൽനിന്ന് കയറുമ്പോൾ ആകാശം പിളരുന്നതും പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവ് ഒരു പ്രാവിനെപ്പോലെ അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെമേൽ ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതും കണ്ടു.
11 And ther came a voyce from heaven: Thou arte my dere sonne in whom I delyte.
“നീ എന്റെ പ്രിയപുത്രൻ; നിന്നിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രസാദിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു,” എന്നു സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു അശരീരിയും ഉണ്ടായി.
12 And immediatly the sprete drave him into wildernes:
ഉടനെതന്നെ ദൈവാത്മാവ് യേശുവിനെ വിജനപ്രദേശത്തേക്ക് നയിച്ചു.
13 and he was there in the wildernes xl dayes and was tempted of Satan and was with wilde beestes. And the aungels ministred vnto him.
നാൽപ്പതുദിവസം അദ്ദേഹം ആ വിജനസ്ഥലത്ത് സാത്താനാൽ പ്രലോഭിപ്പിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. ഈ സമയം അദ്ദേഹം അവിടെ വന്യമൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; ദൂതന്മാർ യേശുവിനെ ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചും പോന്നു.
14 After Iohn was taken Iesus came in to Galile preachinge the gospell of the kyngdome of God
യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ കാരാഗൃഹത്തിലായതിനുശേഷം യേശു ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സുവിശേഷം പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു ഗലീലയിൽ വന്നു.
15 and sayinge: the tyme is come and the kyngdome of God is at honde repent and beleve the gospell.
“സമയം പൂർത്തിയായിരിക്കുന്നു, ദൈവരാജ്യം സമീപിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളുടെ പാപങ്ങളിൽനിന്ന് മാനസാന്തരപ്പെട്ടു സുവിശേഷത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുക!” എന്നിങ്ങനെയായിരുന്നു യേശുവിന്റെ പ്രസംഗം.
16 As he walked by the see of Galile he sawe Simon and Andrew his brother castinge nettes into ye see for they were fysshers.
യേശു ഗലീലാതടാകതീരത്തുകൂടി നടക്കുമ്പോൾ മീൻപിടിത്തക്കാരായ ശിമോനും സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രയോസും തടാകത്തിൽ വലയിറക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
17 And Iesus sayde vnto them: folowe me and I will make you fisshers of men.
യേശു അവരോട്, “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കുക; ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളെ മനുഷ്യരെ പിടിക്കുന്നവരാക്കും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു
18 And strayght waye they forsoke their nettes and folowed him.
ഉടൻതന്നെ അവർ വല ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
19 And when he had gone a lytell further thence he sawe Iames the sonne of zebede and Ihon his brother even as they were in the shyppe mendinge their nettes.
അവർ അൽപ്പം മുന്നോട്ടു ചെന്നപ്പോൾ, സെബെദിയുടെ മകൻ യാക്കോബും അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ യോഹന്നാനും വള്ളത്തിലിരുന്ന് വല നന്നാക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു.
20 And anone he called them. And they leeft their father zebede in the shippe with his hyred servauntes and went their waye after him.
ഉടനെ യേശു അവരെയും വിളിച്ചു. അവർ പിതാവായ സെബെദിയെ ജോലിക്കാരോടുകൂടെ വള്ളത്തിൽ വിട്ടിട്ട് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.
21 And they entred into Capernau: and streight waye on ye Saboth dayes he entred in to ye synagoge and taught.
യേശുവും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കഫാർനഹൂം എന്ന പട്ടണത്തിലേക്ക് യാത്രയായി. ശബ്ബത്തുനാളായപ്പോൾ യേശു യെഹൂദപ്പള്ളിയിൽ ചെന്ന് ഉപദേശിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
22 And they merveled at his learninge. For he taught them as one that had power with him and not as the Scribes.
ജനം അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഉപദേശത്തിൽ ആശ്ചര്യപ്പെട്ടു; കാരണം, അവരുടെ വേദജ്ഞരെപ്പോലെയല്ല, പിന്നെയോ ആധികാരികതയോടെയാണ് യേശു അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചത്.
23 And there was in their synagoge a ma vexed wt an vnclene spirite yt cried
അപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ ആ പള്ളിയിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ദുരാത്മാവു ബാധിച്ച ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ,
24 sayinge: let be: what have we to do with the thou Iesus of Nazareth? Arte thou come to destroye vs? I knowe the what thou arte eue that holy of god.
“നസറായനായ യേശുവേ, അങ്ങേക്കു ഞങ്ങളോട് എന്തുകാര്യം? ഞങ്ങളെ നശിപ്പിക്കാനോ അങ്ങു വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്? അങ്ങ് ആരാണെന്ന് എനിക്കറിയാം. അങ്ങ് ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പരിശുദ്ധൻതന്നെ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 And Iesus rebuked him sayinge: hoolde thy peace and come out of him.
“ശബ്ദിക്കരുത്! അവനിൽനിന്ന് പുറത്തുവരിക!” യേശു ശാസിച്ചു.
26 And ye vnclene spirite tare him and cryed with a loude voyce and came out of him.
ഉടനെ ദുരാത്മാവ് ആ മനുഷ്യനെ നിലത്ത് ഭയങ്കരമായി വീഴ്ത്തി ഇഴച്ചു; അലറി നിലവിളിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവനെ വിട്ടുപോയി.
27 And they were all amased in so moche that they demaunded one of another amoge them selves saying: what thinge is this? what newe doctryne is this? For he comaundeth the foule spirites with power and they obeye him.
ഇതെല്ലാം കണ്ട ജനം വിസ്മയത്തോടെ, “എന്തൊരു അധികാരമുള്ള പുതിയ ഉപദേശം! അദ്ദേഹം ദുരാത്മാക്കളോടുപോലും കൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അവ അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അനുസരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നല്ലോ!” എന്നിങ്ങനെ പരസ്പരം ചർച്ചചെയ്യാൻ തുടങ്ങി.
28 And immediatly his fame spreed abroade throughoute all the region borderinge on Galile.
അദ്ദേഹത്തെക്കുറിച്ചുള്ള വാർത്ത ഗലീല പ്രവിശ്യയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും അതിവേഗം വ്യാപിച്ചു.
29 And forth with as sone as they were come out of the synagoge they entred into ye housse of Symon and Andrew with Iames and Ihon.
അവർ യെഹൂദപ്പള്ളിയിൽനിന്നിറങ്ങിയ ഉടനെതന്നെ യാക്കോബിനോടും യോഹന്നാനോടുംകൂടെ, ശിമോന്റെയും അന്ത്രയോസിന്റെയും ഭവനത്തിലേക്കു പോയി.
30 And Symons mother in lawe lay sicke of a fever. And anone they tolde him of her.
ശിമോന്റെ അമ്മായിയമ്മ പനിപിടിച്ച് കിടപ്പിലായിരുന്നു. ഈ കാര്യം ശിഷ്യന്മാർ യേശുവിനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
31 And he came and toke her by the honde and lifte her vp: and the fever forsoke hir by and by: and she ministred vnto them.
യേശു അടുത്തുചെന്ന് അവളുടെ കൈക്കുപിടിച്ച് എഴുന്നേൽക്കാൻ സഹായിച്ചു. അവളുടെ പനി സൗഖ്യമായി. അവൾ യേശുവിനെയും ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും ശുശ്രൂഷിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
32 And at even when the sunne was downe they brought to him all that were diseased and them that were possessed with devyls.
അന്നു വൈകുന്നേരം, സൂര്യൻ അസ്തമിച്ചതിനുശേഷം, ജനങ്ങൾ രോഗികളും ഭൂതബാധിതരുമായ എല്ലാവരെയും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു.
33 And all the cite gaddred to gedder at the dore
നഗരവാസികൾ എല്ലാവരും വാതിൽക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടി.
34 and he healed many yt were sicke of divers deseases. And he cast out many devyls and suffred not ye devyls to speake because they knewe him.
പലവിധ രോഗങ്ങൾ ബാധിച്ചിരുന്ന അനേകംപേരെ യേശു സൗഖ്യമാക്കി; അനവധി ഭൂതങ്ങളെയും പുറത്താക്കി. യേശു ആരെന്ന് ഭൂതങ്ങൾക്ക് അറിയാമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ട് അവയെ സംസാരിക്കാൻ അദ്ദേഹം അനുവദിച്ചതുമില്ല.
35 And in the morninge very erly Iesus arose and went out into a solitary place and there prayed.
അതിരാവിലെ, ഇരുട്ടുള്ളപ്പോൾത്തന്നെ, യേശു ഉറക്കമുണർന്ന് ഒരു വിജനസ്ഥലത്ത് ചെന്നു പ്രാർഥിച്ചു.
36 And Simon and they that were with him folowed after him.
ശിമോനും കൂടെയുള്ളവരും അദ്ദേഹത്തെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുചെന്നു.
37 And when they had founde him they sayde vnto him: all men seke for the.
കണ്ടെത്തിയപ്പോൾ; “എല്ലാവരും അങ്ങയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു” എന്ന് അവർ അദ്ദേഹത്തോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
38 And he sayd vnto them: let vs go into the next tounes that I maye preache there also: for truly I cam out for that purpose.
അതിന് യേശു, “അടുത്തുള്ള ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലും പ്രസംഗിക്കേണ്ടതിന് നമുക്ക് അവിടേക്കു പോകാം; ഈ ശുശ്രൂഷയ്ക്കായിട്ടാണല്ലോ ഞാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നത്” എന്നു മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു
39 And he preached in their synagoges throughout all Galile and cast the devyls out.
അങ്ങനെ അദ്ദേഹം യെഹൂദരുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ പ്രസംഗിച്ചുകൊണ്ടും ഭൂതങ്ങളെ പുറത്താക്കിക്കൊണ്ടും ഗലീലയിൽ എല്ലായിടത്തും സഞ്ചരിച്ചു.
40 And there came a leper to him besechinge him and kneled doune vnto him and sayde to him: yf thou wilt thou canest make me clene.
ഒരു കുഷ്ഠരോഗി യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽവന്ന് മുട്ടുകുത്തി, “അങ്ങേക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ എന്നെ സൗഖ്യമാക്കാൻ കഴിയും” എന്നപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
41 And Iesus had copassion on him and put forth his honde touched him and sayde to him: I will be thou clene.
യേശുവിന് അവനോടു സഹതാപം തോന്നി. കൈനീട്ടി ആ മനുഷ്യനെ തൊട്ടുകൊണ്ട്, “എനിക്കു മനസ്സുണ്ട്; നീ ശുദ്ധനാകുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
42 And assone as he had spoke immediatly ye leprosy departed fro him and was clensed.
ഉടൻതന്നെ കുഷ്ഠം അയാളെ വിട്ടുമാറി, അയാൾക്കു സൗഖ്യംവന്നു.
43 And he charged him and sent him awaye forthwith
യേശു, “നോക്കൂ, ഇത് ആരോടും പറയരുത്” എന്ന കർശന താക്കീത് അയാൾക്കു നൽകി, “നീ പോയി, പുരോഹിതനു നിന്നെത്തന്നെ കാണിക്കുക. നീ പൂർണസൗഖ്യമുള്ളവനായി എന്ന് പൊതുജനങ്ങൾക്കു ബോധ്യപ്പെടുന്നതിനായി മോശ കൽപ്പിച്ച വഴിപാടുകൾ അർപ്പിക്കുകയുംചെയ്യുക” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
44 and sayd vnto him: Se thou saye no thinge to any man: but get the hence and shewe thy silfe to ye preste and offer for thy clensinge those thinges which Moses comaunded for a testimoniall vnto them.
45 But he (assone as he was departed) beganne to tell many thinges and to publyshe the dede: in so moche that Iesus coulde no more opely entre in to the cite but was with out in desert places. And they came to him fro every quarter.
എന്നാൽ, അയാൾ പോയി എല്ലാവരോടും ഈ വാർത്ത തീക്ഷ്ണതയോടെ പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. തന്മൂലം യേശുവിനു പരസ്യമായി പട്ടണത്തിൽ പ്രവേശിക്കാൻ സാധിക്കാതെ വന്നു; അദ്ദേഹം പുറത്തു വിജനസ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽ താമസിച്ചു. എന്നിട്ടും ജനങ്ങൾ എല്ലായിടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നും യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നുകൂടി.
