Mark 9
1 And he sayde vnto them: Verely I saye vnto you: There be some of the that stonde here which shall not taste of deeth tyll they have sene the kyngdome of God come wt power.
Et il ajouta: «En vérité je vous le dis, quelques-uns de ceux qui sont ici présents, ne goûteront point la mort, qu'ils n'aient vu le royaume de Dieu inauguré avec puissance.»
2 And after. vi. dayes Iesus toke Peter Iames and Iohn and leede them vp into an hye mountayne out of ye waye alone and he was transfigured before them.
Six jours après, Jésus, ayant pris avec lui Pierre, Jacques et Jean, les mena sur une haute montagne, seuls, à l'écart, et il fut transfiguré devant eux:
3 And his rayment dyd shyne and was made very whyte even as snowe: so whyte as noo fuller can make apon the erth.
ses vêtements devinrent éblouissants d'une blancheur telle, qu'il n'est pas un foulon sur la terre qui puisse blanchir ainsi.
4 And ther apered vnto them Helyas with Moses: and they talked with Iesu.
Puis Elie leur apparut avec Moïse; ils s'entretenaient avec Jésus.
5 And Peter answered and sayde to Iesu: Master here is good beinge for vs let vs make. iii. tabernacles one for the one for Moses and one for Helyas.
Pierre, prenant la parole, dit à Jésus: «Rabbi, il est bon que nous soyons ici; dressons trois tentes, une pour toi, une pour Moïse, et une pour Élie.»
6 And yet he wist not what he sayde: for they were afrayde.
Il ne savait ce qu'il disait: l'effroi les avait saisis tous trois.
7 And ther was a cloude that shaddowed the. And a voyce came out of the cloude sayinge: This is my dere sonne here him.
Une nuée survint qui les enveloppa, et il sortit de la nuée une voix: «Celui-ci est mon fils bien-aimé; écoutez-le.»
8 And sodenly they loked rounde aboute them and sawe no man more then Iesus only wt the.
Soudain, ayant jeté les regards autour d'eux, ils ne virent plus personne que Jésus, seul avec eux.
9 And as they came doune from the hyll he charged the that they shuld tell no ma what they had sene tyll the sonne of man were rysen fro deeth agayne.
Comme ils descendaient de la montagne, Jésus leur recommanda de ne raconter à personne ce qu'ils avaient vu, avant que le Fils de l'homme fût ressuscité des morts.
10 And they kepte that sayinge with them and demaunded one of a nother what yt rysinge from deeth agayne shuld meane?
Les disciples retinrent cette recommandation, tout en discutant entre eux pour savoir ce que signifiait ce mot «être ressuscité des morts; »
11 And they axed him sayinge: why then saye ye scribe that Helyas muste fyrste come?
et ils adressèrent à Jésus cette question: «Pourquoi les scribes disent-ils qu'Elie doit venir premièrement?»
12 He answered and sayde vnto them: Helyas verelye shall fyrst come and restore all thinges. And also ye sonne of ma as it is wrytte shall suffre many thinges and shall be set at nought.
Il leur répondit: «Elie doit venir premièrement, et rétablir toutes choses! et d'où vient qu'il est écrit, que c'est afin que le Fils de l'homme souffre beaucoup, et qu'il soit rejeté avec mépris.
13 Moreouer I saye vnto you that Helyas is come and they have done vnto him whatsoever pleased them as it is wrytten of him.
Mais je vous dis qu'Elie est venu, et qu'ils lui ont fait tout ce qu'ils ont voulu, selon qu'il est écrit à son sujet.»
14 And he came to his disciples and sawe moche people aboute them and the scribes disputinge with them.
Quand il arriva vers ses disciples, il vit une grande foule autour d'eux, et des scribes qui disputaient avec eux.
15 And streyght waye all the people when they behelde him were amased and ran to him and saluted him.
Toute la foule fut surprise de le voir, et elle accourut pour le saluer.
16 And he sayde vnto the Scribes: what dispute ye with them?
Il leur demanda: «De quoi disputez-vous avec eux?»
17 And one of the copanye answered and sayde: Master I have brought my sonne vnto the which hath a dome spirite.
Et un homme de la foule lui répondit: «Maître, je t'ai amené mon fils qui est possédé d'un esprit muet:
18 And whensoever he taketh him he teareth him and he fometh and gnassheth with his tethe and pyneth awaye. And I spake to thy disciples that they shuld caste him out and they coulde not.
en quelque lieu que cet esprit s'empare de lui, il le jette par terre; l'enfant écume, grince des dents, et dépérit. J'ai prié tes disciples de chasser l'esprit, et ils ne l'ont pu.»
19 He answered him and sayd: O generacion wt out faith how longe shall I be with you? How longe shall I suffre you? Bringe him vnto me.
Jésus répondit, et leur dit: «Race incrédule, jusqu’à quand serai-je avec vous, jusqu’à quand vous supporterai-je?... Amenez-le moi.»
20 And they brought him vnto him. And assone as ye sprete sawe him he tare him. And he fell doune on the grounde walowinge and fomynge.
Et on le lui amena. Aussitôt que l'enfant vit Jésus, il fut jeté par l'esprit dans des convulsions, il tomba par terre et se roulait en écumant.
21 And he axed his father: how longe is it a goo sens this hath happened him? And he sayde of a chylde:
Jésus demanda au père: «Combien y a-t-il de temps que cela lui arrive?» — «Depuis son enfance, dit-il;
22 and ofte tymes casteth him into the fyre and also into the water to destroye him. But yf thou canste do eny thinge have mercy on vs and helpe vs.
et souvent l'esprit l'a jeté soit dans le feu, soit dans l'eau, afin de le faire périr; mais si tu le peux, viens à notre secours par pitié pour nous.»
23 And Iesus sayde vnto him: ye yf thou couldest beleve all thinges are possible to him yt belevith.
Jésus lui répliqua: «Si je le peux! Tout est possible envers celui qui croit.»
24 And streygth waye the father of the chylde cryed with teares sayinge: Lorde I beleve helpe myne vnbelefe.
Aussitôt le père de l'enfant s'écria: «Je crois; viens au secours de mon incrédulité!»
25 When Iesus sawe that the people came runnynge togedder vnto him he rebuked the foule sprete sayinge vnto him: Thou domme and deffe sprete I charge the come out of him and entre no more into him.
Jésus, voyant la foule accourir, tança l'esprit impur, et lui dit: «Esprit muet et sourd, je te le commande, moi, sors de cet enfant, et n'y rentre plus.»
26 And the sprete cryed and rent him sore and came out: And he was as one that had bene deed in so moche yt many sayde he is deed.
Alors, ayant poussé un cri et causé de violentes convulsions, l'esprit sortit, et l'enfant devint comme un cadavre, au point que la plupart disaient: «Il est mort.»
27 But Iesus caught his honde and lyfte him vp: and he roose.
Mais Jésus, le saisissant par la main, le releva, et il se tint debout.
28 And when he was come into the housse his disciples axed him secretly: why coulde not we caste him out?
Jésus étant rentré chez lui, ses disciples lui demandèrent en particulier: «Pourquoi n'avons-nous pu chasser cet esprit?»
29 And he sayde vnto them: this kynde can by no nother meanes come forth but by prayer and fastynge.
Il leur dit: «Rien, excepté la prière, ne peut faire sortir cette espèce de démons.»
30 And they departed thens and toke their iorney thorow Galile and he wolde not that eny man shuld have knowen it.
Etant partis de là, ils cheminèrent à travers la Galilée, et Jésus ne voulait pas qu'on le sût,
31 For he taught his disciples and sayde vnto them: The sonne of man shalbe delyvered into ye hondes of men and they shall kyll him and after that he is kylled he shall aryse agayne the thryd daye.
parce qu'il enseignait ses disciples. Il leur disait: «Le Fils de l'homme va être livré entre les mains des hommes, et ils le mettront à mort; mais, lorsqu'il aura été mis à mort, trois jours après, il ressuscitera.»
32 But they wiste not what that sayinge meat and were affrayed to axe him.
Mais eux ne comprenaient point cette parole, et ils craignaient de l'interroger.
33 And he came to Capernaum. And when he was come to housse he axed the: what was it that ye disputed bytwene you by the waye?
Jésus rentra à Capernaoum. Quand il fut chez lui, il leur demanda: «De quoi vous entreteniez-vous en chemin?»
34 And they helde their peace: for by the waye they reasoned amonge the selves who shuld be the chefest.
Mais ils gardèrent le silence, parce qu'en chemin ils avaient débattu entre eux cette question: «Qui est le plus grand?»
35 And he sate doune and called the twelve vnto him and sayd to them: yf eny man desyre to be fyrst the same shalbe last of all and servaunt vnto all.
Jésus s'étant assis, appela les Douze, et leur dit: «Si quelqu'un veut être le premier, il sera le dernier de tous et le serviteur de tous.»
36 And he toke a chylde and set him in ye middes of them and toke him in his armes and sayde vnto them.
Puis, il prit un petit enfant, le plaça au milieu d'eux, et, l'ayant embrassé, il leur dit:
37 Whosoever receave eny soche a chylde in my name receaveth me. And whosoever receaveth me receaveth not me but him that sent me.
«Celui qui reçoit un de ces enfants-là en mon nom, me reçoit; et celui qui me reçoit, reçoit non, pas moi, mais celui qui m'a envoyé.»
38 Iohn answered him sayinge: Master we sawe one castynge out devyls in thy name which foloweth not vs and we forbade him because he foloweth vs not.
Jean, prenant la parole, lui dit: «Maître, nous avons vu un homme qui ne va pas avec nous, chasser les démons en ton nom, et nous l'en avons empêché, parce qu'il ne va pas avec nous.»
39 But Iesus sayde forbid him not. For ther is no ma that shall do a miracle in my name that can lightlyge speake evyll of me.
Mais Jésus dit: «Ne l'en empêchez pas, car il n'est personne qui, après avoir fait un miracle en mon nom, puisse, aussitôt après, dire du mal de moi.
40 Whosoever is not agaynste you is on youre parte.
Qui n'est pas contre nous est pour nous.
41 And whosoever shall geve you a cuppe of water to drinke for my names sake because ye belonge to Christe verely I saye vnto you he shall not loose his rewarde.
Car celui qui vous donnera un verre d'eau pour le nom de Christ à qui vous êtes, je vous dis en vérité qu'il ne perdra point sa récompense.
42 And whosoever shall offende one of these lytelons yt beleve in me it were better for him yt a mylstone were hanged aboute his necke and yt he he were cast into ye see:
Si quelqu'un devait être une occasion de chute pour un seul des petits qui ont la foi, il vaudrait mieux pour lui, qu'on lui mît une pierre de moulin autour du cou, et qu'on le jetât dans la mer.
43 wherfore yf thy hande offende ye cut him of. It is better for ye to entre into lyffe maymed then havynge two hondes goo into hell into fire yt never shalbe quenched (Geenna g1067)
Si ta main est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-la; il te vaut mieux entrer manchot dans la vie, que d'avoir deux mains, et d'aller dans la Géhenne, dans le feu qui ne s'éteint point. (Geenna g1067)
44 where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
45 Lykewyse yf thy fote offende the cut him of. For it is better for the to goo halt into lyfe then havynge two fete to be cast into hell into fyre that never shalbe quenched: (Geenna g1067)
Si ton pied est pour toi une occasion de chute, coupe-le; il te vaut mieux entrer boiteux dans la vie, que d'avoir deux pieds, et d'être jeté dans la Géhenne. (Geenna g1067)
46 where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
47 Even so yf thyne eye offende the plucke him oute. It is better for the to goo into the kyngdom of god with one eye then havynge two eyes to be caste into hell fyre: (Geenna g1067)
Si ton oeil est pour toi une occasion de chute, arrache-le; il te vaut mieux entrer borgne dans le royaume de Dieu, que d'avoir deux yeux, et d'être jeté dans la Géhenne, (Geenna g1067)
48 where there worme dyeth not and the fyre never goeth oute.
«où le ver ne meurt point, et on le feu ne s'éteint point.»
49 Every man therfore shalbe salted wt fyre: And every sacrifise shalbe seasoned with salt.
Car tout homme sera salé par le feu, et tout sacrifice sera salé avec du sel.
50 Salt is good. But yf ye salt be vnsavery: what shall ye salte therwith? Se yt ye have salt in youre selves: and have peace amonge youre selves one with another.
C'est une bonne chose que le sel; mais s'il devient insipide, avec quoi lui donnerez-vous de la saveur? Gardez bien le sel en vous, et soyez en paix les uns avec les autres.»
