Mark 8
1 In those dayes whe ther was a very greate companye and had nothinge to eate Iesus called his disciples to him and sayd vnto the:
ആ ദിവസങ്ങളിൽത്തന്നെ വീണ്ടും ഒരു വലിയ ജനക്കൂട്ടം വന്നുകൂടിയിരുന്നു. അവരുടെപക്കൽ ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഒന്നും അവശേഷിച്ചിരുന്നില്ല. അതുകൊണ്ട് യേശു ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ച് അവരോട്:
2 I have copassion on this people because they have nowe bene with me. iii. dayes and have nothinge to eate:
“എനിക്ക് ഈ ജനത്തോട് സഹതാപം തോന്നുന്നു. ഇവർ എന്നോടൊപ്പമായിട്ട് മൂന്നുദിവസമായി; ഇവർക്കു ഭക്ഷിക്കാൻ ഒന്നുംതന്നെ ഇല്ല.
3 And yf I shuld sende the awaye fastinge to their awne houses they shulde faynt by the waye. For dyvers of the came from farre.
ഞാൻ അവരെ വിശപ്പോടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കയച്ചാൽ അവർ വഴിയിൽ തളർന്നുവീഴും; അവരിൽ ചിലർ വളരെ ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു വന്നവരുമാണ്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
4 And his disciples answered him: where shuld a man have breade here in the wildernes to satisfie these?
അതിനു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ, “ഇവിടെ ഈ വിജനപ്രദേശത്ത് ഇവർക്കു മതിയാകുന്നത്ര അപ്പം കിട്ടുന്നത് എവിടെനിന്ന്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
5 And he axed them: how many loves have ye? They sayde: seven.
യേശു അവരോട്, “നിങ്ങളുടെ കൈയിൽ എത്ര അപ്പം ഉണ്ട്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. “ഏഴ്” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
6 And he commaunded the people to syt doune on the grounde. And he toke the. vii. loves gave thankes brake and gave to his disciples to set before them. And they dyd set the before the people.
യേശു ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തോട് തറയിലിരിക്കാൻ കൽപ്പിച്ചു. പിന്നീട് ആ ഏഴ് അപ്പം എടുത്ത് സ്തോത്രംചെയ്ത്, നുറുക്കി, ജനങ്ങൾക്കു വിളമ്പാൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ ഏൽപ്പിക്കുകയും അവർ അതു വിളമ്പുകയും ചെയ്തു.
7 And they had a feawe smale fysshes. And he blessed them and comaunded them also to be set before them.
അവരുടെപക്കൽ കുറെ ചെറിയ മീനും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതിനുവേണ്ടിയും അദ്ദേഹം നന്ദി അർപ്പിച്ചതിനുശേഷം, വിളമ്പാൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
8 And they ate and were suffysed: And they toke vp yf the broken meate that was lefte. vii. baskettes full.
ജനങ്ങൾ ഭക്ഷിച്ചു തൃപ്തരായി. ശേഷിച്ച നുറുക്കുകൾ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ ഏഴു കുട്ട നിറയെ ശേഖരിച്ചു.
9 And they yt ate were in nomber aboute fowre thousand. And he sent them awaye.
അവിടെ ഭക്ഷണം കഴിച്ചവരിൽ പുരുഷന്മാർ ഏകദേശം നാലായിരം ആയിരുന്നു.
10 And a none he entred into a ship wt his disciples and came into the parties of Dalmanutha.
അവരെ യാത്രയയച്ചശേഷം അദ്ദേഹം ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടുകൂടെ വള്ളത്തിൽ കയറി ദൽമനൂഥാ ദേശത്തേക്കു യാത്രയായി.
11 And the pharises cam forth and begane to dispute with him sekinge of him a signe fro heven and temptinge him.
പരീശന്മാർ വന്ന് യേശുവിനോടു തർക്കിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി. യേശു ദൈവപുത്രൻ ആണെന്നതിന് തെളിവായി അവർ സ്വർഗത്തിൽനിന്ന് ഒരു അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നം കാണിക്കണമെന്ന് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ടു.
12 And he sygthed in his sprete and sayde: why doth this generacion seke a signe? Verely I saye vnto you ther shall no signe be geven vnto this generacion.
അദ്ദേഹം ആത്മാവിൽ ഞരങ്ങിക്കൊണ്ട്: “ഈ തലമുറ എന്തുകൊണ്ടാണ് ചിഹ്നം ആവശ്യപ്പെടുന്നത്? ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു സത്യം പറയുന്നു: ഈ തലമുറയ്ക്ക് ഒരു അത്ഭുതചിഹ്നവും നൽകപ്പെടുകയില്ല” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
13 And he lefte the and went into the ship agayne and departed over the water.
പിന്നീട് അദ്ദേഹം അവരെവിട്ടു വള്ളത്തിൽ കയറി അക്കരയ്ക്കു യാത്രയായി.
14 And they had forgotte to take breed wt the nether had they in the ship with them more then one loofe.
വള്ളത്തിൽ തങ്ങളുടെ പക്കൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്ന ഒരപ്പം ഒഴികെ വേറെ അപ്പം കൊണ്ടുവരാൻ ശിഷ്യന്മാർ മറന്നുപോയിരുന്നു.
15 And he charged the sayinge. Take hede and beware of ye leven of ye pharises and of ye leve of Herode.
“സൂക്ഷിക്കുക, പരീശന്മാരുടെയും ഹെരോദാവിന്റെയും പുളിച്ചമാവിനെപ്പറ്റി ജാഗ്രതയുള്ളവരായിരിക്കുക.” യേശു അവർക്കു മുന്നറിയിപ്പു നൽകി.
16 And they reasoned amonge the selves sayinge: we have no breed
“നമ്മുടെ പക്കൽ അപ്പം ഇല്ലാത്തതുകൊണ്ടായിരിക്കാം അദ്ദേഹം ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞത്” എന്ന് അവർ പരസ്പരം ചർച്ചചെയ്തു.
17 And whe Iesus knewe yt he sayde vnto the: why take ye thought because ye have no bread? perceave ye not yet nether vnderstonde? Have ye youre hertes yet blynded?
അവരുടെ സംഭാഷണം മനസ്സിലാക്കിയിട്ട് യേശു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു, “അപ്പം എടുത്തില്ലെന്നതിനെക്കുറിച്ച് നിങ്ങൾ ചർച്ചചെയ്യുന്നതെന്ത്? നിങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോഴും കണ്ടു മനസ്സിലാക്കുന്നില്ലേ? നിങ്ങൾക്ക് കാര്യങ്ങൾ വേണ്ടതുപോലെ മനസ്സിലാക്കാൻ കഴിയുന്നില്ലേ?
18 Have ye eyes and se not? and have ye eares and heare not? Do ye not remember?
അതോ, കണ്ണുണ്ടായിട്ടും കാണുന്നില്ലേ? ചെവിയുണ്ടായിട്ടും കേൾക്കുന്നില്ലേ? നിങ്ങൾ ഓർക്കുന്നതുമില്ലേ?
19 When I brake v. loves amonge. v. M. How many baskettes full of broke meate toke ye vp? They sayde vnto him twelve.
ഞാൻ അഞ്ചപ്പംകൊണ്ട് അയ്യായിരത്തെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശേഷിച്ച കഷണങ്ങൾ എത്ര കുട്ട നിറച്ചാണ് നിങ്ങൾ പെറുക്കിയത്?” “പന്ത്രണ്ട്” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
20 When I brake. vii. amonge. iiii. M. How many basketes of the levinges of broken meate toke ye vp? they sayde. vii.
“ഞാൻ ഏഴ് അപ്പം നുറുക്കി നാലായിരത്തെ പരിപോഷിപ്പിച്ചപ്പോൾ ശേഷിച്ച കഷണങ്ങൾ എത്ര കുട്ട നിറച്ചെടുത്തു?” “ഏഴ്” അവർ മറുപടി പറഞ്ഞു.
21 And he sayde vnto the: how is it yt ye vnderstonde not?
“ഇപ്പോഴും നിങ്ങൾ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ലേ?” അദ്ദേഹം അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.
22 And he came to Bethsaida and they brought a blynde man vnto him and desyred him to touche him.
അവർ ബേത്ത്സയിദയിൽ എത്തി. അന്ധനായ ഒരാളെ ചിലർ കൊണ്ടുവന്ന് അയാളെ തൊടണമെന്ന് യേശുവിനോട് അപേക്ഷിച്ചു.
23 And he caught the blynde by the honde and leade him out of the toune and spat in his eyes and put his hondes apon him and axed him whether he saw ought.
യേശു അന്ധന്റെ കൈക്കുപിടിച്ചു, ഗ്രാമത്തിനു പുറത്തുകൊണ്ടുപോയി. അദ്ദേഹം അയാളുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ തുപ്പി, തന്റെ കൈകൾ അയാളുടെമേൽ വെച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അയാളോട്, “നീ എന്തെങ്കിലും കാണുന്നുണ്ടോ?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
24 And he loked vp and sayde: I se ye men: For I se the walke as they were trees.
അയാൾ ചുറ്റും നോക്കിയിട്ട്, “ഞാൻ മനുഷ്യരെ കാണുന്നുണ്ട്. പക്ഷേ, വ്യക്തമായിട്ടല്ല, അവർ നടക്കുന്ന മരങ്ങളെപ്പോലെയാണ് കാണപ്പെടുന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
25 After that he put his hondes agayne apon his eyes and made him see. And he was restored to his sight and sawe every ma clerly.
യേശു വീണ്ടും അയാളുടെ കണ്ണുകളിൽ കൈകൾ വെച്ചു. അപ്പോൾ അയാളുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ തുറന്നു. അയാൾക്കു കാഴ്ച തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടി. അയാൾ സകലതും വ്യക്തമായി കണ്ടു.
26 And he sent him home to his housse sayinge: nether goo into the toune nor tell it to eny in the toune.
“ഗ്രാമത്തിനുള്ളിൽ പോകരുത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞ് യേശു അയാളെ നേരേ വീട്ടിലേക്കയച്ചു.
27 And Iesus went out and his disciples into the tounes that longe to the cite called Cesarea Philippi. Aud by the waye he axed his disciples sayinge: whom do men saye yt I am?
യേശുവും ശിഷ്യന്മാരും കൈസര്യ ഫിലിപ്പിയിലെ ഗ്രാമങ്ങളിലേക്കു യാത്രയായി. പോകുന്ന വഴിയിൽ അദ്ദേഹം അവരോട്, “ഞാൻ ആര് ആകുന്നു എന്നാണ് ജനങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നത്?” എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.
28 And they answered: some saye that thou arte Iohn Baptiste: some saye Helyas: and some one of the Prophetes.
അതിനു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ, “യോഹന്നാൻസ്നാപകൻ എന്നു ചിലരും ഏലിയാവ് എന്നു മറ്റുചിലരും പ്രവാചകന്മാരിൽ ഒരാൾ എന്നു വേറെ ചിലരും പറയുന്നു” എന്നുത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.
29 And he sayde vnto the: But whom saye ye that I am? Peter answered and sayd vnto him: Thou arte very Christe.
“എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങളോ?” യേശു ആരാഞ്ഞു, “ഞാൻ ആരാകുന്നു എന്നാണ് നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നത്?” “അങ്ങ് ക്രിസ്തു ആകുന്നു,” എന്ന് പത്രോസ് പ്രതിവചിച്ചു.
30 And he charged them that they shuld tell no man of it.
തന്നെപ്പറ്റി ആരോടും പറയരുത് എന്ന കർശനനിർദേശവും യേശു അവർക്കു നൽകി.
31 And he beganne to teache them how that the sonne of man must suffre many thinges and shuld be reproved of the elders and of the hye prestes and scribes and be kylled and after thre dayes aryse agayne.
മനുഷ്യപുത്രൻ വളരെ കഷ്ടം സഹിക്കുകയും സമുദായനേതാക്കന്മാർ, പുരോഹിതമുഖ്യന്മാർ, വേദജ്ഞർ എന്നിവരാൽ തിരസ്കരിക്കപ്പെടുകയും വധിക്കപ്പെടുകയും മൂന്നാംദിവസം ഉയിർത്തെഴുന്നേൽക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുമെന്ന് അദ്ദേഹം അവരെ ഉപദേശിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
32 And he spake that sayinge openly. And Peter toke him asyde and began to chyde him.
അദ്ദേഹം ഈ കാര്യം തുറന്നുപറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പത്രോസ് അദ്ദേഹത്തെ മാറ്റിനിർത്തി ശാസിച്ചുതുടങ്ങി.
33 Then he tourned aboute and looked on his disciples and rebuked Peter sayinge: Goo after me Satan. For thou saverest not ye thinges of God but the thinges of men.
യേശുവോ തിരിഞ്ഞു തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരെ നോക്കിയിട്ട്, പത്രോസിനെ ശാസിച്ചു. “സാത്താനേ, എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽനിന്ന് പോ; നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കാര്യങ്ങളല്ല, മനുഷ്യരുടെ കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത്” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.
34 And he called the people vnto him with his disciples also and sayd vnto them: Whosoever will folowe me let him forsake him sylfe and take vp his crosse and folowe me.
പിന്നെ അദ്ദേഹം ശിഷ്യന്മാരെയും ജനക്കൂട്ടത്തെയും അടുക്കൽ വിളിച്ച് ഇങ്ങനെ പറഞ്ഞു: “ഒരാൾ എന്റെ അനുയായി ആകാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നെങ്കിൽ അയാൾ സ്വയം ത്യജിച്ച് തന്റെ ക്രൂശ് എടുത്തുകൊണ്ട് എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്കട്ടെ.
35 For whosoever will save his lyfe shall lose it But whosoever shall lose his lyfe for my sake and ye gospels ye same shall save it.
സ്വന്തം ജീവനെ രക്ഷിക്കാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നവർക്ക് അതു നഷ്ടമാകും; എന്നാൽ എന്റെ അനുയായി ആയതു നിമിത്തവും സുവിശേഷം നിമിത്തവും സ്വജീവൻ നഷ്ടപ്പെടുത്തുന്നവർ അതിനെ രക്ഷിക്കും.
36 What shall it profet a ma yf he shuld wynne all ye worlde and loose his awne soule?
ഒരാൾ ലോകം മുഴുവൻ തന്റെ സ്വന്തമാക്കിയാലും സ്വന്തം ജീവൻ കൈമോശംവരുത്തിയാൽ അയാൾക്ക് എന്തു പ്രയോജനം?
37 or els what shall a ma geve to redeme his soule agayne?
അഥവാ, ഒരാൾക്ക് തന്റെ ജീവന്റെ വിലയായി എന്തു പകരം കൊടുക്കാൻ കഴിയും?
38 Whosoever therfore shall be asshamed of me and of my wordes amonge this advoutrous and sinfull generacion: of him shall the sonne of man be ashamed when he cometh in the glory of his father wt the holy angels.
വ്യഭിചാരവും പാപവും ഉള്ള ഈ തലമുറയിൽ ആരെങ്കിലും എന്നെയും എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെയുംകുറിച്ചു ലജ്ജിച്ചാൽ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു മനുഷ്യപുത്രനും (ഞാനും) തന്റെ പിതാവിന്റെ തേജസ്സിൽ വിശുദ്ധദൂതരോടുകൂടെ വരുമ്പോൾ ലജ്ജിക്കും.”
