Luke 2
1 And it chaunced in thoose dayes: yt ther went oute a comaundment from Auguste the Emperour that all the woorlde shuld be taxed.
Pada waktu itu Kaisar Agustus mengeluarkan suatu perintah, menyuruh mendaftarkan semua orang di seluruh dunia.
2 And this taxynge was ye fyrst and executed when Syrenius was leftenaut in Syria.
Inilah pendaftaran yang pertama kali diadakan sewaktu Kirenius menjadi wali negeri di Siria.
3 And every man went vnto his awne citie to be taxed.
Maka pergilah semua orang mendaftarkan diri, masing-masing di kotanya sendiri.
4 And Ioseph also ascended from Galile oute of a cite called Nazareth into Iurie: vnto ye cite of David which is called Bethleem because he was of the housse and linage of David
Demikian juga Yusuf pergi dari kota Nazaret di Galilea ke Yudea, ke kota Daud yang bernama Betlehem, --karena ia berasal dari keluarga dan keturunan Daud--
5 to be taxed with Mary his spoused wyfe which was with chylde.
supaya didaftarkan bersama-sama dengan Maria, tunangannya, yang sedang mengandung.
6 And it fortuned whyll they were there her tyme was come that she shuld be delyvered.
Ketika mereka di situ tibalah waktunya bagi Maria untuk bersalin,
7 And she brought forth her fyrst begotten sonne and wrapped him in swadlynge cloothes and layed him in a manger because ther was no roume for them within in the ynne.
dan ia melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki, anaknya yang sulung, lalu dibungkusnya dengan lampin dan dibaringkannya di dalam palungan, karena tidak ada tempat bagi mereka di rumah penginapan.
8 And ther were in the same region shepherdes abydinge in the felde and watching their flocke by nyght.
Di daerah itu ada gembala-gembala yang tinggal di padang menjaga kawanan ternak mereka pada waktu malam.
9 And loo: the angell of ye lorde stode harde by the and the brightnes of ye lorde shone rounde aboute them and they were soare afrayed.
Tiba-tiba berdirilah seorang malaikat Tuhan di dekat mereka dan kemuliaan Tuhan bersinar meliputi mereka dan mereka sangat ketakutan.
10 But the angell sayd vnto them: Be not afrayed. For beholde I bringe you tydinges of greate ioye yt shal come to all ye people:
Lalu kata malaikat itu kepada mereka: "Jangan takut, sebab sesungguhnya aku memberitakan kepadamu kesukaan besar untuk seluruh bangsa:
11 for vnto you is borne this daye in the cite of David a saveoure which is Christ ye lorde.
Hari ini telah lahir bagimu Juruselamat, yaitu Kristus, Tuhan, di kota Daud.
12 And take this for a signe: ye hall fynde ye chylde swadled and layed in a mager.
Dan inilah tandanya bagimu: Kamu akan menjumpai seorang bayi dibungkus dengan lampin dan terbaring di dalam palungan."
13 And streight waye ther was with the angell a multitude of hevenly sowdiers laudynge God and sayinge:
Dan tiba-tiba tampaklah bersama-sama dengan malaikat itu sejumlah besar bala tentara sorga yang memuji Allah, katanya:
14 Glory to God an hye and peace on the erth: and vnto men reioysynge.
"Kemuliaan bagi Allah di tempat yang mahatinggi dan damai sejahtera di bumi di antara manusia yang berkenan kepada-Nya."
15 And it fortuned assone as the angels were gone awaye fro them in to heven the shepherdes sayd one to another: let vs goo eve vnto Bethleem and se this thynge that is hapened which the Lorde hath shewed vnto vs.
Setelah malaikat-malaikat itu meninggalkan mereka dan kembali ke sorga, gembala-gembala itu berkata seorang kepada yang lain: "Marilah kita pergi ke Betlehem untuk melihat apa yang terjadi di sana, seperti yang diberitahukan Tuhan kepada kita."
16 And they cam with haste and founde Mary and Ioseph and the babe layde in a mager.
Lalu mereka cepat-cepat berangkat dan menjumpai Maria dan Yusuf dan bayi itu, yang sedang berbaring di dalam palungan.
17 And when they had sene it they publisshed a brode the sayinge which was tolde them of that chylde.
Dan ketika mereka melihat-Nya, mereka memberitahukan apa yang telah dikatakan kepada mereka tentang Anak itu.
18 And all that hearde it wondred at those thinges which were tolde the of the shepherdes.
Dan semua orang yang mendengarnya heran tentang apa yang dikatakan gembala-gembala itu kepada mereka.
19 But Mary kept all thoose sayinges and pondered them in hyr hert.
Tetapi Maria menyimpan segala perkara itu di dalam hatinya dan merenungkannya.
20 And the shepherdes retourned praysinge and laudinge God for all that they had herde and sene evyn as it was told vnto them.
Maka kembalilah gembala-gembala itu sambil memuji dan memuliakan Allah karena segala sesuatu yang mereka dengar dan mereka lihat, semuanya sesuai dengan apa yang telah dikatakan kepada mereka.
21 And when ye eyght daye was come yt the chylde shuld be circucised his name was called Iesus which was named of the angell before he was conceaved in the wombe.
Dan ketika genap delapan hari dan Ia harus disunatkan, Ia diberi nama Yesus, yaitu nama yang disebut oleh malaikat sebelum Ia dikandung ibu-Nya.
22 And when the tyme of their purificacio (after the lawe of Moyses) was come they brought him to Hierusalem to present hym to ye Lorde
Dan ketika genap waktu pentahiran, menurut hukum Taurat Musa, mereka membawa Dia ke Yerusalem untuk menyerahkan-Nya kepada Tuhan,
23 (as yt is written in the lawe of the Lorde: every man that fyrst openeth the matrix shalbe called holy to the Lorde)
seperti ada tertulis dalam hukum Tuhan: "Semua anak laki-laki sulung harus dikuduskan bagi Allah",
24 and to offer (as it ys sayde in the lawe of the Lorde) a payre of turtle doves or two yonge pigions.
dan untuk mempersembahkan korban menurut apa yang difirmankan dalam hukum Tuhan, yaitu sepasang burung tekukur atau dua ekor anak burung merpati.
25 And beholde ther was a ma in Hierusalem whose name was Simeon. And the same ma was iuste and feared God and longed for the consolacion of Israel and the holy goost was in him.
Adalah di Yerusalem seorang bernama Simeon. Ia seorang yang benar dan saleh yang menantikan penghiburan bagi Israel. Roh Kudus ada di atasnya,
26 And an answer was geven him of the holy goost that he shulde not se deethe before he had sene the lordes Christ.
dan kepadanya telah dinyatakan oleh Roh Kudus, bahwa ia tidak akan mati sebelum ia melihat Mesias, yaitu Dia yang diurapi Tuhan.
27 And he came by inspiracion into the temple. And when the father and mother brought in the chylde Iesus to do for him after the custome of the lawe
Ia datang ke Bait Allah oleh Roh Kudus. Ketika Yesus, Anak itu, dibawa masuk oleh orang tua-Nya untuk melakukan kepada-Nya apa yang ditentukan hukum Taurat,
28 then toke he him vp in his armes and sayde.
ia menyambut Anak itu dan menatang-Nya sambil memuji Allah, katanya:
29 Lorde Now lettest thou thy seruaut departe in peace accordinge to thy promes.
"Sekarang, Tuhan, biarkanlah hamba-Mu ini pergi dalam damai sejahtera, sesuai dengan firman-Mu,
30 For myne eyes have sene ye saveour sent fro ye
sebab mataku telah melihat keselamatan yang dari pada-Mu,
31 Wich thou hast prepared before the face of all people.
yang telah Engkau sediakan di hadapan segala bangsa,
32 A light to lighten the gentyls and the glory of thy people Israel.
yaitu terang yang menjadi penyataan bagi bangsa-bangsa lain dan menjadi kemuliaan bagi umat-Mu, Israel."
33 And his father and mother mervelled at those thinges which were spoke of him.
Dan bapa serta ibu-Nya amat heran akan segala apa yang dikatakan tentang Dia.
34 And Simeon blessed them and sayde vnto Mary his mother: beholde this chyld shalbe the fall and resurreccio of many in Israel and a signe which shalbe spoke agaynste.
Lalu Simeon memberkati mereka dan berkata kepada Maria, ibu Anak itu: "Sesungguhnya Anak ini ditentukan untuk menjatuhkan atau membangkitkan banyak orang di Israel dan untuk menjadi suatu tanda yang menimbulkan perbantahan
35 And morover the swearde shall pearce thy soule yt the thoughtes of many hertes maye be opened.
--dan suatu pedang akan menembus jiwamu sendiri--, supaya menjadi nyata pikiran hati banyak orang."
36 And ther was a Prophetesse one Anna the doughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Aser: which was of a greate age and had lyved with an husbande. vii. yeres from her virginite.
Lagipula di situ ada Hana, seorang nabi perempuan, anak Fanuel dari suku Asyer. Ia sudah sangat lanjut umurnya. Sesudah kawin ia hidup tujuh tahun lamanya bersama suaminya,
37 And she had bene a wedowe aboute. iiii. scoore and. iiii. yere which went never oute of the temple but served God with fastinge and prayer nyght and daye.
dan sekarang ia janda dan berumur delapan puluh empat tahun. Ia tidak pernah meninggalkan Bait Allah dan siang malam beribadah dengan berpuasa dan berdoa.
38 And the same came forth that same houre and praysed the Lorde and spake of him to all that loked for redempcion in Hierusalem.
Dan pada ketika itu juga datanglah ia ke situ dan mengucap syukur kepada Allah dan berbicara tentang Anak itu kepada semua orang yang menantikan kelepasan untuk Yerusalem.
39 And assone as they had performed all thinges accordinge to the lawe of the Lorde they returned into Galile to their awne cite Nazareth.
Dan setelah selesai semua yang harus dilakukan menurut hukum Tuhan, kembalilah mereka ke kota kediamannya, yaitu kota Nazaret di Galilea.
40 And the chylde grewe and wexed stronde in sprete and was filled with wysdome and the grace of God was with hym.
Anak itu bertambah besar dan menjadi kuat, penuh hikmat, dan kasih karunia Allah ada pada-Nya.
41 And his father and mother went to Hierusalem every yeare at the feeste of ester.
Tiap-tiap tahun orang tua Yesus pergi ke Yerusalem pada hari raya Paskah.
42 And when he was. xii. yere olde they went vp to Hierusalem after the custome of the feeste.
Ketika Yesus telah berumur dua belas tahun pergilah mereka ke Yerusalem seperti yang lazim pada hari raya itu.
43 And when they had fulfilled the dayes as they returned home the chylde Iesus boode styll in Hierusalem vnknowynge to his father and mother.
Sehabis hari-hari perayaan itu, ketika mereka berjalan pulang, tinggallah Yesus di Yerusalem tanpa diketahui orang tua-Nya.
44 For they supposed he had bene in the copany and therfore came a days iorney and sought him amoge their kynsfolke and acquayntaunce.
Karena mereka menyangka bahwa Ia ada di antara orang-orang seperjalanan mereka, berjalanlah mereka sehari perjalanan jauhnya, lalu mencari Dia di antara kaum keluarga dan kenalan mereka.
45 And when they founde hym not they went backe agayne to Hierusalem and sought him.
Karena mereka tidak menemukan Dia, kembalilah mereka ke Yerusalem sambil terus mencari Dia.
46 And it fortuned after. iii. dayes that they founde him in the teple sittinge in the middes of the doctours both hearynge them and posinge them.
Sesudah tiga hari mereka menemukan Dia dalam Bait Allah; Ia sedang duduk di tengah-tengah alim ulama, sambil mendengarkan mereka dan mengajukan pertanyaan-pertanyaan kepada mereka.
47 And all that hearde him mervelled at his wit and answers.
Dan semua orang yang mendengar Dia sangat heran akan kecerdasan-Nya dan segala jawab yang diberikan-Nya.
48 And when they sawe him they were astonyed. And his mother sayde vnto him: sonne why hast thou thus dealte with vs? Beholde thy father and I have sought the sorowenge.
Dan ketika orang tua-Nya melihat Dia, tercenganglah mereka, lalu kata ibu-Nya kepada-Nya: "Nak, mengapakah Engkau berbuat demikian terhadap kami? Bapa-Mu dan aku dengan cemas mencari Engkau."
49 And he sayde vnto the: how is it yt ye sought me? Wist ye not that I must goo aboute my fathers busines?
Jawab-Nya kepada mereka: "Mengapa kamu mencari Aku? Tidakkah kamu tahu, bahwa Aku harus berada di dalam rumah Bapa-Ku?"
50 And they vnderstode not ye sayinge that he spake to them.
Tetapi mereka tidak mengerti apa yang dikatakan-Nya kepada mereka.
51 And he went with them and came to Nazareth and was obedient to the. But his mother kept all these thinges in her hert.
Lalu Ia pulang bersama-sama mereka ke Nazaret; dan Ia tetap hidup dalam asuhan mereka. Dan ibu-Nya menyimpan semua perkara itu di dalam hatinya.
52 And Iesus increased in wisdom and age and in favoure with god and man.
Dan Yesus makin bertambah besar dan bertambah hikmat-Nya dan besar-Nya, dan makin dikasihi oleh Allah dan manusia.
