Luke 12
1 As ther gadered together an innumerable multitude of people (in so moche that they trood one another) he began to saye vnto his disciples: Fyrst of all beware of the leve of the Pharises which is ypocrisy.
Nesse meio tempo, milhares de pessoas se ajuntaram, de tal modo que elas pisavam umas nas outras. Jesus falou primeiro aos seus discípulos: “Tenham cuidado com o fermento dos fariseus, ou seja, com a falsidade deles.
2 For ther is no thinge covered that shall not be vncovered: nether hyd that shall not be knowen.
Pois tudo que está escondido será revelado. Tudo que estiver em segredo será conhecido.
3 For whatsoever ye have spoken in in darknes: that same shalbe hearde in light. And that which ye have spoken in the the eare eve in secret places shalbe preached even on the toppe of the housses.
Tudo o que vocês disseram na escuridão será ouvido na luz do dia. E tudo o que vocês disseram em segredo será anunciado aos quatro cantos da terra.
4 I saye vnto you my fredes: Be not afrayde of them that kyll the body and after that have no moare that they can do.
Eu lhes digo, meus amigos, não tenham medo daqueles que matam o corpo, pois uma vez que tenham feito isso, não há mais nada que eles possam fazer.
5 But I will shewe you whom ye shall feare. Feare him which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell. Ye I saye vnto you him feare. (Geenna g1067)
Deixem-me dizer de quem vocês devem ter medo: vocês devem temer aquele que, depois de ter matado, ainda tem o poder de lançá-los na Geena. É dele que vocês devem ter medo. (Geenna g1067)
6 Are not five sparowes bought for two farthinges? And yet not one of them is forgotten of God.
Não é verdade que cinco passarinhos são vendidos por alguns centavos? Mas, Deus não se esquece de nenhum deles.
7 Also even the very heres of youre heedes are nombred. Feare not therfore: ye are moare of value then many sparowes.
Até os cabelos da cabeça de vocês foram contados. Não tenham medo! Vocês valem mais do que muitos passarinhos.
8 I saye vnto you: Whosoever confesseth me before men eve him shall ye sonne of man confesse also before ye angels of God.
Eu lhes digo que isto é verdade: aqueles que disserem publicamente que pertencem a mim, o Filho do Homem também irá dizer, diante dos anjos de Deus, que essas pessoas pertencem a ele.
9 And he that denyeth me before men: shalbe denyed before ye angels of God.
Mas, aqueles que me negarem também serão negados por mim diante dos anjos de Deus.
10 And whosoever speaketh a worde agaynst ye sonne of ma it shalbe forgeven him. But vnto him yt blasphemeth the holy goost it shall not be forgeven.
Qualquer um que falar contra o Filho do Homem será perdoado, mas quem disser blasfêmias contra o Espírito Santo não será perdoado.
11 When they bringe you vnto the synagoges and vnto the rulers and officers take no thought how or what thinge ye shall answer or what ye shall speake.
Quando vocês forem levados para serem julgados nas sinagogas, e diante de governantes e de autoridades, não se preocupem como irão se defender ou com o que irão dizer.
12 For the holy goost shall teache you in the same houre what ye ought to saye.
O Espírito Santo lhes ensinará, naquela mesma hora, o que devem dizer.”
13 One of the company sayde vnto hym: Master byd my brother devide the enheritauce with me.
Alguém que estava na multidão disse a Jesus: “Mestre, por favor, diga ao meu irmão para dividir a herança comigo.”
14 And he sayde vnto him: Man who made me a iudge or a devider over you?
Jesus respondeu: “Homem, quem me indicou como seu juiz para decidir como a sua herança deve ser dividida?” Ele disse às pessoas:
15 Wherfore he sayde vnto them: take hede and beware of covetousnes. For no mannes lyfe stondeth in the aboundaunce of the thinges which he possesseth.
“Prestem atenção! Tenham cuidado com todos os pensamentos e com todas as ações mesquinhas, pois a vida de uma pessoa não se resume a todas as coisas que ela possui.”
16 And he put forth a similitude vnto them sayinge: The groude of a certayne riche ma brought forth frutes plenteously
Então, ele contou para a multidão uma história como exemplo. “Certa vez, havia um homem rico que possuía terras muito produtivas.
17 and he thought in himsilfe sayinge: what shall I do? because I have noo roume where to bestowe my frutes?
O homem pensou: ‘O que eu devo fazer? Eu não tenho onde guardar a minha colheita.’
18 And he sayde: This will I do. I will destroye my barnes and bilde greater and therin will I gadder all my frutes and my goodes:
Ele, então, decidiu: ‘Eu sei o que farei: vou derrubar os meus depósitos e construirei outros depósitos de cereais maiores ainda. Assim, eu terei espaço para guardar toda a minha colheita e também tudo o que possuo.
19 and I will saye to my soule: Soule thou hast moch goodes layde vp in stoore for many yeares take thyne ease: eate drinke and be mery.
Depois, direi a mim mesmo: Você já tem riquezas o bastante para viver por muitos anos. Então, relaxe, coma, beba e aproveite!’
20 But God sayde vnto him: Thou fole this night will they fetche awaye thy soule agayne from the. Then whose shall thoose thinges be which thou hast provyded?
Mas, Deus lhe disse: ‘Você é um homem tolo! Nesta mesma noite, você morrerá e, aí, quem ficará com tudo que você guardou?’
21 So is it with him that gadereth ryches and is not ryche in God.
É isso o que acontece com as pessoas que acumulam riquezas para si, mas não são ricas no que diz respeito a Deus.”
22 And he spake vnto his disciples: Therfore I saye vnto you: take no thought for youre lyfe what ye shall eate nether for youre body what ye shall put on.
Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: “É por isso que eu lhes digo: não se preocupem com a vida, com o que comer ou com o que vestir.
23 The lyfe is moare then meate and the bodye is moare then rayment.
A vida é bem mais do que apenas a comida, e o corpo é bem mais do que apenas vestir roupas.
24 Considre the ravens for they nether sowe nor repe which nether have stoorehousse ner barne and yet God fedeth them. How moche are ye better then the foules.
Vejam os corvos. Eles não semeiam nem colhem, não têm despensas ou depósitos, mas Deus os alimenta. E vocês são mais valiosos do que os pássaros.
25 Which of you with takynge thought can adde to his stature one cubit?
Vocês podem acrescentar uma hora a mais em sua vida, por mais que se preocupem com isso?
26 Yf ye then be not able to do that thinge which is least: why take ye thought for the remmaunt?
Se vocês não podem fazer nada em relação a uma coisa pequena como essa, então, por que se preocupar com o resto?
27 Considre the lylies how they growe: They laboure not: they spyn not: and yet I saye vnto you that Salomon in all this royalte was not clothed lyke to one of these.
Pensem nos lírios e em como eles crescem. Eles não trabalham e nem tecem os fios para fazerem roupas. Mas, eu lhes digo que nem mesmo Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu de forma tão bela quanto qualquer um deles.
28 Yf the grasse which is todaye in the felde and tomorowe shalbe cast into the fornace God so clothe: how moche moore will he clothe you o ye endued wt litell faith?
Assim, se Deus veste a erva, que hoje está no campo, mas que amanhã é lançada no forno, muito mais irá vesti-los, vocês que têm fé tão pequena.
29 And axe not what ye shall eate or what ye shall drinke nether clyme ye vp an hye
Não se preocupem com o que irão comer ou beber. Não se preocupem com isso.
30 for all suche thinges the hethen people of the worlde seke for. Youre father knoweth that ye have nede of suche thinges.
Todas essas são coisas com que as pessoas no mundo se preocupam, mas o seu Pai sabe que vocês precisam delas.
31 Wherfore seke ye after the kyngedome of God and all these thinges shalbe ministred vnto you.
Busquem primeiro o Reino de Deus, e vocês receberão as demais coisas.
32 Feare not litell floocke for it is youre fathers pleasure to geve you a kingdome.
Não tenha medo, pequeno rebanho, pois o seu Pai tem prazer em lhe dar o Reino.
33 Sell that ye have and geve almes. And make you bagges which wexe not olde and treasure that fayleth not in heaven where noo these commeth nether moth corrupteth.
Vendam o que vocês têm e deem o dinheiro aos pobres. Consigam para si mesmos bolsas que não se estragam: um tesouro no céu, que nunca irá acabar, onde nenhum ladrão poderá roubá-lo e nem as traças poderão destruí-lo.
34 For where youre treasure is there will youre hertes be also.
Pois o que vocês mais valorizam é o que realmente mostra quem vocês são.
35 Let youre loynes be gerdde about and youre lightes brennynge
Estejam vestidos e prontos e deixem seus lampiões acesos.
36 and ye youre selves lyke vnto men that wayte for their master when he will returne fro a weddinge: that assone as he cometh and knocketh they maye ope vnto him.
Sejam como os empregados que esperam pela volta do seu patrão depois da festa de casamento. Eles já estão preparados para abrir a porta assim que ele chegar e bater.
37 Happy are those servauntes which the Lorde when he cometh shall fynde wakynge. Verely I saye vnto you he will gerdde him selfe about and make them sit doune to meate and walke by and minister vnto them.
Felizes os empregados que o patrão encontra preparados quando ele chega. Eu lhes digo que isto é verdade: ele se vestirá, fará com que eles se sentem para comer e ele mesmo servirá seus empregados.
38 And yf he come in the seconde watche ye if he come in the thyrde watche and shall fynde them soo happy are those servauntes.
Mesmo se ele chegar à meia-noite, ou mais tarde, felizes dos empregados se ele os encontrar alerta e prontos!
39 This vnderstonde that yf the good man of the housse knewe what houre ye these wolde come he wolde suerly watche: and not suffer his housse to be broken vp.
Mas, lembrem-se disto: se o dono da casa soubesse quando um ladrão chegaria, ele ficaria vigiando e não deixaria que a sua casa fosse invadida.
40 Be ye prepared therfore: for the sonne of man will come at an houre when ye thinke not.
Vocês também devem estar preparados, pois o Filho do Homem virá quando não estiverem esperando por ele.”
41 Then Peter sayde vnto him: Master tellest thou this similitude vnto vs or to all men?
“Você está contando essa história apenas para nós, ou é para todos?”, Pedro perguntou.
42 And the Lorde sayde: If there be any faith full servaut and wise whom his Lorde shall make ruler over his housholde to geve them their duetie of meate at due season:
O Senhor respondeu: “Então, quem é o administrador confiável e sábio, que o patrão coloca como responsável na casa, para distribuir a comida para os outros empregados na hora certa?
43 happy is that servaunt whom his master when he cometh shall finde soo doinge.
Feliz desse empregado quando o seu patrão voltar e descobrir que ele cumpriu tudo como deveria ser.
44 Of a trueth I saye vnto you: that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
Eu lhes digo que isto é verdade: o patrão deixará esse empregado como o responsável por tudo.
45 But and yf the evyll servaunt shall saye in his hert: My master wyll differre his cominge and shall beginne to smyte the servauntes and maydens and to eate and drinke and to be dronken:
Mas, e se o empregado pensar: ‘Meu patrão está demorando para voltar.’ E então, ele começar a bater nos outros empregados, tantos nos homens quanto nas mulheres, e passar a comer e beber até ficar bêbado?
46 the Lorde of that servaunt will come in a daye when he thinketh not and at an houre when he is not ware and will devyde him and will geve him his rewarde with the vnbelevers.
Um dia, o patrão desse empregado chegará de repente e ele não saberá. O patrão o punirá duramente e o condenará a ir para o lugar onde estão os desobedientes.
47 The servaut that knewe his masters will and prepared not him selfe nether dyd accordinge to his will shalbe bete with many strypes.
O empregado que sabia qual era a vontade do seu patrão e, ainda assim, não se aprontou, ou não seguiu as instruções dele, será castigado com dureza.
48 But he that knewe not and yet dyd committe thinges worthy of strypes shalbe beaten with feawe strypes. For vnto whom moche is geven of him shalbe moche requyred. And to whom men moche commyt the moare of him will they axe.
Mas, o empregado que não sabia e fez coisas que mereciam punição será punido apenas levemente. Para quem muito foi dado, muito será exigido. E para quem foi confiado mais, mais será pedido.
49 I am come to sende fyre on erth: and what is my dysyre but that it were all redy kyndled?
Eu vim para pôr fogo na terra e como seria bom se já estivesse queimando!
50 Not with stondinge I must de baptised with a baptyme: and how am I payned till it be ended?
Mas, eu preciso primeiro passar por um batismo, e como estou agoniado esperando por isso!
51 Suppose ye that I am come to sende peace on erth? I tell you naye: but rather debate.
Vocês acham que eu vim trazer paz à terra? Não, eu lhes digo que trago a divisão.
52 For fro hence forthe ther shalbe five in one housse devided thre agaynst two and two agaynst thre.
A partir de agora, se houver cinco pessoas em uma família, elas ficarão divididas: três contra duas e duas contra três.
53 The father shalbe devided agaynst the sonne and the sonne agaynst the father. The mother agaynst the doughter and the doughter agaynst the mother. The motereleawe agaynst hir doughterelawe and the doughterelawe agaynst hir motherelawe.
Pais ficarão contra os filhos e os filhos contra os pais. As mães contra as filhas e as filhas contra as mães. As sogras contra as noras e as noras contra as sogras.”
54 Then sayde he to the people: when ye se a cloude ryse out of the west strayght waye ye saye: we shall have a shower and soo it is.
Então, Jesus falou para a multidão: “Quando vocês veem uma nuvem subindo no oeste, imediatamente dizem: ‘Vai chover.’ E isso realmente acontece.
55 And when ye se the south wynde blow ye saye: we shall have heet and it cometh to passe.
E quando sopra o vento sul, vocês dizem: ‘Irá fazer calor.’ E isso acontece.
56 Ypocrites ye can skyll of the fassion of the erth and of the skye: but what is ye cause that ye canot skyll of this time?
Hipócritas! Como é que vocês sabem interpretar com tanta certeza se vai fazer calor ou chover, mas não sabem como interpretar a época atual?
57 Ye and why iudge ye not of youre selves what is righte?
Por que vocês não pensam por si mesmos e julgam o que é o certo a ser feito?
58 Whill thou goest with thyne adversary to the ruler: as thou arte in the waye geve diligence that thou mayst be delivered fro him least he bringe the to the iudge and the iudge delyver the to the iaylar and the iaylar cast the in to preson.
Quando vocês estiverem indo para o tribunal com quem os acusou, tentem fazer um acordo com essa pessoa antes do julgamento. Caso contrário, vocês podem ser levados a um juiz, o juiz pode entregá-los ao guarda e o guarda pode jogá-los na prisão.
59 I tell ye thou departest not thence tyll thou have made good ye vtmost myte.
Eu lhes digo que vocês não irão sair da prisão enquanto não pagarem até o último centavo da dívida.”
